Welcome.

Here you will find a collection of railway films mostly older than 30 years. Many earlier uploads are from my personal home-made library (8-mm cine films, VHS-C, DV-Tape and HD video films dating from the 1970's). Various film archive material, some rare, that may have not been seen before on RU-vid, from Australia, UK and other countries are provided for your enjoyment. Please enjoy and subscribe for more!

This channels banner image was taken at the preserved Hotham Valley Tourist Railway at Dwellingup in Western Australia on August 27 2003. The loco is a W class 4-8-2 built by Beyer Peacock and Company Ltd of Manchester, England and entered service in Western Australia in 1951. It is numbered and named '903 Marrinup'.

Interesting seeing XE wagons on Alcoa trains, or was this footage spliced in from elsewhere?

When you think about 3803 and other steam engines shut up in storage she'd doing nothing, it makes you wish it can be restored to operating condition like sister locomotive 3801, could you imagine 3801 and 3803 working together?😊

Have to admit i was a little disappointed seeing it being pulled by a diesel rather than a Grand steam engine

Love a bit of 'nostalgia' however there is nothing to love here. Reptilian people who rightly belong in history with their disgusting furs, vile smoking habits and blinkered views. Supremely interesting and informative all the same of course. 😂👍🏼

Wonderful. I watched this in 1982 and went on VSOE in 1985 with my mother to mark her retirement. Nigel Dempster is spot on about a experience you will never forget. Unlike modern documentaries not ever second is packed with a host who feels they have to say something meaningless. Whicker is brilliant, his final concluding sentence is genius..

A host who speaks in whole sentences without using peculiar emphasis on odd words to break them up into breathless declarations. And doesn't ask everyone from the band members to the bed makers how they 'feel' about it all..as though the audience is a lot of wooden planks. Conversation used to be considered an art. People learned how to make it,in a way that brought out the other person by being witty and interested, you were expected to make the other person feel at ease and entertained in equal measures. We can see the last vestiges here.

No way those spectators would be allowed where they are today yet nobody got hurt by the train or the hot steam from the cylinder drains.Unfortunately common sense and being responsible for your own safety has gone out the window along with the shear enjoyment of mainline steam in Western Australia.
