Just got the Luxman L507Z. Now the next in the list are a pair of speakers. I need it be under $2000. Any suggestions? I was thinking of pairing with Spendors A4 or Pmc prodigy 5. Or you think there could be something cheaper that would better? Also happy to hear any new suggestions. Thank you
Hard pass on the Sony's, absolute overpriced garbage. Tweeters are exceptionally harsh and the mid-base is flat. Speakers flap out well under RMS rating. $600 for the set what a rip.
I've dropped you and email Billy. If this were a client system, the complete job from video 5 could be expected to cost £15,000-£20,000. We do systems of this size regularly, however, we also build systems that cost far less for those that don't want to go to this sort of level.
I am disappointed that the space under the rear seat was not used for a subwoofer. There is PLENTY of volume under that seat and could be used with a smidge of innovation. OTOH, I appreciate the treatment of the tweeter installation at the A pillar.
I can't tell but is the 3" Sony running no grill? I've heard finding one that fits is a pain, because I have been looking at the 3 way for my truck. So if you know of one I would be interested.
Maybe’s not audible for everyone but the bass line at the Sade’s song is so much better with the Heritage Specials, this mid woofer is a true hi end unit and with this first order crossover it can go flat out without any problems whatsoever.
You really need to sort out the whiteboard and camera interaction. Cant see anything. It tries to focus and light is messed up its too much light to see whats on whiteboard
Cool video. A few questions... Few people have had the opportunity to personally hear a Thesis speaker (from Audison) playing, since it is a high-end product and is expensive. So I ask... what are your impressions of it? Is the Thesis speaker a good option for reproducing all musical genres? There is also the “Voce” line of speakers from Audison, is the Thesis line much superior to the Voce line?
Thanks for the comment,. The Thesis speaker is extremely smooth, detailed and refined, it's leagues ahead of the Voce tweeter as can be expected. The TH tweeter, for me, at least, is one of the sweetest sounding tweeters that can be had. A really special driver.
Foi um brabo mas épocas diferentes só os maguinatas hein fera kkkkk que belíssimo carro joia raras aqui no Brasil quem tem só para disposição não pode circular nas ruas não 👎🏽
It was perfectly translated. It’s a RU-vid video, the sounds isn’t meant to be of the same quality of the original speaker, you’d have to be a bit silly to assume it is. This video is informative, well presented to the potential client and is a display of the speaker and its potential. You said that “none would sell based on the sound of this video” yet we were among the highest seller of these speakers and rightfully so. Nobody put the effort in that we did with Heritage Special. Out of the thousand positive things you could say, you chose to complain about the sound of a video that was never intended as a studio recording, well done.
Very perfect installation! Your followers see how professional you and your team are. I think it's a beautiful type of video if you show your installation in your and your team car. Good channel , continue in this direction. And very high quality videos thank you :)
That colour coding is awesome as is the opening track which I just so happened to have pumping out of mine this morning as I entered a show! Wicked stuff mate!!
So my Project RS will work RCA in from the turntable, XLR out to my main amp ? Is there any advantage to doing that or would the balanced improvements only come with a turntable that provides XLR to the phono box then XLR out ? Cheers.
To remain truly balanced you'll need a balanced output cable from your cart to the Phono stage and then out to the amp. There isn't an advantage to running RCA-Balanced in my opinion.
My god. I'm working on my own 2020 911 C4S right now, and it's embarrassing when I compare to your work. lol. Just stunning stuff, wish you guys were across the pond in Canada. Just amazing.
As you are an audio specialist and post your videos here on RU-vid, can you please answer a question? When I'm listening to a song on RU-vid, how do I know if that song is an audio file without loss of quality or if it's an audio file with loss of quality? What should I do to identify whether the music I am listening to is an audio file, for example, “FLAC” (without quality loss) or if it is an “MP3” type file (where there is audio loss)? I visited RU-vid's audio file guidelines and it says the following... “[...] Supported file formats: (1) MP3 audio in MP3/WAV container, (2) PCM audio in WAV container, (3 ) AAC audio in MOV container and (4) FLAC audio. Minimum audio bitrate for lossy formats: 64 kbps. Minimum audible duration: 33 seconds, excluding silence and background noise. Maximum duration: none “[...]”. Therefore, RU-vid accepts audio files without loss of quality and audio files with loss of quality. So I ask again... How do I identify the quality of the audio (of the music) I'm listening to on RU-vid? Where can I see the specifications of the audio being played to know if it is a lossy or lossless format?
Excellent video. I have a question, if you could help me I would be grateful... The 2-way kit “S165M2mg” from Blam (Signature Multix line) contains: (1) a woofer (WS6) that reproduces frequencies of 80 Hz ÷ 6 kHz and (2) a tweeter (TSM 25 Mg 70) that reproduces frequencies from 1.18 Khz ÷ 43 KHz. The 2-way kit “TH K2 II A CORO” from Audison (Thesis line) contains: (1) a woofer (TH 6.5 II sax) that reproduces frequencies of 40 ÷ 4.5 kHz and (2) a tweeter (TSM 25 Mg 70 ) which reproduces frequencies of 800 ÷ 26 kHz. Just looking at these technical data of the two kits mentioned, is it possible to say which one will, for example, be more likely to reproduce acoustic or instrumental music better? Note: considering the hypothetical scenario in which the two kits mentioned were installed in the same car (at different times, of course) and that the entire rest of the system (amplifiers, subwoofer, DSP, cables and wires, frequency cuts, time alignment, etc. .) were correctly dimensioned, installed and adjusted.
Thanks for your compliment on the video. There are a lot of indicators I take note of as to how a speaker will perform (perform, not necessarily sound) from it's tech specs in a given environment, they're also a great indicator for the equipment that will work well with them. In terms of sound comparisons between either set of speakers from a tech data point of view, I don't know if I would choose that path to judge a speakers performance, especially with certain genres of music. Realistically the only way to compare 1 on 1 with the same kit in the same car will be to get them in there and have a go, which I understand is difficult to do for most. Even frequency plots supplied by manufacturers aren't a great indicator of SQ (imho) inside a car as they're typically defined at 1 frequency at a particular amplitude in a very controlled environment.
Thank you very much for responding. I have another question, if you can help me I would be grateful... The audio system of my Corolla 2022 uses a “2-way kit” in each of the four doors with a maximum power of 160Wmax and a nominal power of 80Wrms, so there are 4 kits. The system has a good 5.1 channel class D amplifier. In the trunk there is a 10-inch subwoofer. The original radio was replaced by a good Alpine multimedia with six RCA outputs, digital crossover and a good equalizer. There is no DSP. This system is good, but I intend to make it excellent by updating all the components, perhaps including a DSP. Note: I am satisfied with the sound volume achieved with the 4 speakers mentioned (80Wrms x 4), with them I only use 70% of the volume knob and I can no longer stand listening to the sound inside the car because it is too loud . So I ask: when purchasing new speakers, should I continue using the 80Wrms parameter? I have the impression that I don't need speakers more powerful than 80Wrms. I got a quote from a store and they recommended 150Wrms speakers, I thought it was overkill. My profile is: quality sound to be heard only inside the car and the equipment must be hidden.
My car audio installer told me back in the day that JL Audio had almost completely removed their distribution and support in Spain, and thats why they didnt offer them. Its interesting to hear this now from you. Ive known the Audison + Hertz duo for many years, and it seems they work great, even if I havent tried them myself.
Thanks for your great channel and reviews. If I have to choose between 95 and 120 what's your recommendation , if I'm interested only in sound quality? Kind regards and best wishes
I really enjoyed this and the Elac BS312 review. That said, how do the Amphion 3S sound in comparison to the Elac BS312's? Please reply and provide your thoughts - thx
