I've rarely felt as good about a product before buying it as I feel right now about the RA-280. For me the only variable is if I'm going to be impatient and get it now, or let some other poor bloke fund the depreciation by picking up a gently used one in nine months. ;-)
I did get one of these in release. It died in weeks. Started by it self and drived full volume killing main amps... Got a second one after waiting for months, it had excact same issue. Have heard same happening to 3 other owners... Managed to replace this to yamaha RN2000 and big pile of cables... Great sound, cool looking, quality is awfull...
Early units had a recall due to their amps making max volume 'pops' which (from my experience) were replaced quickly with no hurdles. I'm sorry to hear you've had issues, I do believe your dealer is at fault for the time delay, of course, if it wasn't due to the old chip shortage that seemingly affected the entire planet. I can't say we've had any quality issues at all.
@@Studioincar I think the biggest issue was the importer. They had no clue what to do at the time. Issue was quite bad, becouse there is so much power in RS520 it end up killing speakers from several owners. I was not even home when first unit died... Room full of electric burn smoke... After couple of these died replaced this with Yamaha RN-2000
Bought one last year and had the same specific volume issue. It isn´t a problem of the amp but of the remote anyway. It won´t happen using the app or the buttons on the device. I managed to change it and now everything is fine. Apart from that quality and sound are simply great! Customer service is also terrific, every mail is answered accurately within hours.
The remote - I contacted HiFi-Rose directly but they told me to ask my local distributor for further proceedings. So the seller of my RS520 organized a new remote and everything is fine now.
