Get your ankle replaced….the pain will be gone. Find the right surgeon, too. Some surgeons do not have the skills that others do. Research. You will get better with an ankle replacement!!!😊

Why not get a nerve block? I just had a total ankle replacement and needed no opioids!! Univ of Utah!!! I had a bone infarction. Needed an InBone 2 prosthesis.

This is really weird. I had ankle surgery and this is not my experience. This chick seems full of shit. If anyone out there is really post ankle surgery at 6weeks. Hang in there. It's rough. you're probably still in bed rehabbing and not walking around Target in a boot like a babe. I see you.

I do the same every day too. I have the chair for the tub. I have a complete ankle replacement and tendon fix. I have had 3 surgeries in the past year. Crutches suck. I use my Iwalk3 and knee roller. I feel your pain. My rehab facility has a pool.

Thank you for sharing your vids. Just had a TAR 6 weeks ago, most of my foot is still numb. Anymore tips you can give me I would greatly appreciate it. I’m actually using the lacrosse ball like you suggested, so thank you for.

For anyone that still has to go through this: I’m currently on day 5 after surgery. I had no nerve block. First 3 days were quite painful. Just general pain. Overall it was do-able with just Tylenol and Naproxen. At night I took Oxycodine. Since day 4 it was soooo much less pain full. The only pain really is when my air walker pushes against my incision. Don’t let all the horror stories scare you, but let it prepare you. I was prepared for horrible pain and overall was pleasant surprised with the amount of pain :) And a 1006 het the special pillow (your heavy cast/airwalker will just fall off the normal pillows and you’ll be awake all night putting it back. Also get the knee scooter

As someone with a super high pain tolerance who is two weeks post op from this surgery, the pain was ridiculous until I got in the cast. My husband took me seriously because he knows my pain tolerance, and the pain made me carsick. It's no joke.

I know it’s 2 years ago, but I cannot feel sorry for feeling so sad about an ankle break. You had a boyfriend, an ankle that would repair..and a full life ahead of you. Sometimes thinking of blessings, not how you are at this moment in time. You will get better, you will walk, and regain confidence again. This sounded so self absorbing, lifting yourself out of it with small successes. I do know the pain and frustration. I too have had a double displaced fracture of the ankle, with metal plates and screws. In hospital for 8 weeks,as I had heart problems, and had a loop then a pacemaker fitted, and I await a heart procedure shortly. I’m happy, I got to walk again, I’m living a comparable life to pre ops., life is what can you do now, not what you have lost. I have never cried, felt sad, or frustrated. Just joy that I could be fixed. ❤

Denali, thank you for documenting your hip journey! Sometime this summer, I need to schedule my hip surgery. (Torn gluteus minimus, labrum repair, impingement and micro fracture procedure.) I’ve had a lot of injuries and surgeries too. However, this hip injury has been my most challenging to deal with. Thank you again. You are giving me a good insight on what to expect during rehab.

I've just had the same surgery with an added internal brace about 10 days ago, and just listening to your story is like my own. I didn't go to the loo for 7 days after surgery and it was bloody awful 😢 unfortunately i struggled as the pain meds made me so so sick and i was completely wiped out 😢 but its day 10 today and i actually feel normal. Its driving me mad just sitting doing nothing i feel like a potato 🥔 hope your all healed now glad to see a story that feels like mine ❤

I watched this video when I had the same surgery and it was my best company. I played college basketball and both of my ankles were really bad. I made the decision to just have one surgery and everything went well, I started playing again very quickly and everything was fine. Unfortunately, on my other foot, which I did not have surgery on, one day while training, I fell badly and I thought I had sprained it, but no, due to the lack of ligaments, the bone had completely come out and my foot was completely turned over. "Luckily" I didn't fracture, but this situation will possibly keep me from playing. Even if it didn't seem like it at the time, you made the right decision. Cheers to everyone who is going through this. It is better to wait a little now and be able to be a healthy and sporty person in due time, than to no longer be able to walk.

Thank you for being honest. I know it’s years later but even to this day I don’t feel like people are honest about their recovery from this surgery. There aren’t many, if any, other vlogs about the whole recovery and people on Instagram make is seems so incredibly easy. I’d prefer to see the worst side of it, and have it be easier than expected, than the other way around

I broke my ankle Feb 8 and the bones were very very badly dislocated and i had a two hour long surgery.A few pins and i was off.The pain was unbearable except lucky for me i didn’t have any reaction to the pain meds and i was able to take them.Still it was horrible and i cried at least once a day.i was isolated in my room in bed for 3 days.I did not leave my room for three days. And i only left my bed once a day to use the restroom. Not to mention the fact that i couldn’t shower for 2 weeks.Let alone did i change. I even had to cut my pants because it didnt fit around the cast.My eye-bags were huge and very noticeable, my family felt bad and so they helped me around the house with a gaming chair.(Because i also couldnt use the restroom alone). I gained some weight and my acne got worse. There is just so much that happened behind the scenes i wish people would understand.A month and a half later and the doctor took the pins out.He literally grabbed pliers and pulled them out my foot.😭🥴the table was full of blood and i actually fainted. Now im in a walking boot and still struggling. Its crazy how relatable this video is Thank you for posting ❤
