Every writer have their own methods and way of attacking the process of writing; you do what works best for YOU. Writers block is more so down to that people become too self-critical of what they write, thus not getting anything done. Remember, you are the only one seeing what you write! It's not the finished product, thankfully! And if it helps any (and you happen to be using Office Word,) don't be shy about using comments to help you!
You can't put a price on history -- $20,000 is nothing to see this LEGEND! There's even talk of Paul McCartney reuniting with Ringo Starr to open for her on the next leg of the ERAS tour; it's unlikely, but if anyone can make it happen, it's Taylor.
I'd also like to point out that you obviously don't like the process of writing. Which begs the question; why the hell would you want to be a novelist? When I write, I really love the process. It's fun. That's why I do this for a living. I do NOT like working on my car. I'm sure as shooting not going to get a job as a mechanic. See what I'm driving at?
Bad news. If you are only turning out 2k words a week there is no chance you will make your living as an author. It's simple mathematics. You need to produce a book a year to make a living in this business and a novel is on average at least 60k words (for a short novel). At 2k words a week, you'll need more than half the year just to write the 1st draft and most novels will need at least 3 drafts. At a pace of 2k words a week, you'll need about 90 weeks to create a finished product. That's not including edits from a good editor, which you'll have to go over. If the best you can do is 2k words a week, you'll do better to have a traditional career and keep writing as a hobby.
It’s definitely a hobby for right now! I’m still very young but I understand that if it did become a career path for me the level of dedication would need to rise heavily!
Writers Block is our way of saying "I can't do this." But, the truth is; we can. We have to learn to not over-criticize ourselves and write anything. Save the rewrite for after the first draft.
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12
I heard that Stephen King listens to one song over and over really loud while he writes. So i started listening to Beethovens 9th over and over and i am going to listen to that one piece of music every time I work on this book. I really like doing this! I will pickk out one ppiece of music for each book. My mind is getting trained to write when I hear that music. You're doing great!!
