Spoiler Warning This video is about my first time reading a Colleen Hoover book and it was not at all what I expected. I'm a fan??!! It was good? There's letters to Ellen?! I'm still processing my It Ends With Us experience but overall...I think I liked it and maybe I should read It Starts With Us.

i personally didn’t like it. i felt like she refused to write ryle as a totally bad guy because to say ryle is bad is indirectly saying her own dad is bad due to the parallels she wrote and she couldn’t bring herself to do that . totally valid that that’s her trauma but influencing other ppl to view abusers like that i don’t agree with … also lily blossom bloom owning a flower shop is sickening. hated the ellen letters too, was not quirky in a good way LOL i do agree it was a fast read tho

I see where you’re coming from with that and that definitely could have been in her mind writing ryle. I think part of it too was she wanted to make him a complex character and make the decision harder for lily cause it adds more plot/drama to the book. Most of the plot in the second half was her just trying to decide what to do lol. Also, it shows not all abusers show the huge signs at first and I think it was kinda more realistic that way than just having a stock villainous man. Either way ryle is icky haha and yes the Ellen letters with cringe. I get why people don’t like a lot of this book. 😂
