This is where you'll find videos about Chinese drama and all the thing you may or may not know about it.
And much more, as I am an avid fan of good storytelling, be it through still pictures, video, words or sound, for the best ending for any life that has ever lived is to become a good story.
You can find more content from me at my second channel: AvenueXtra
This is so eye opening to my sect of Taoism (一貫道) that my family is in. I always hear and say these terms about Buddha and finally know where they come from.
I've ben watching these videos cause I love the lore and way it's broken down here easily understood. In the section titled P3. Why The Goldfish it broken down and explained Pi is fart that's all and good then you go and explain "You are farting" I'm just like oh...so shit you can't smell we have a saying like that too "You're full of shit" This content in general tickles my brain but, moments like this just makes my day XD
When you cover the episode about the game's secret boss, some stuff comes out of its eye. The stuff says a lot of stuff, in one voice, but many. I do not speak Chinese but could you try to decipher what is being said? SPOILERS FOR MORE SPECIFICITY I can't make it out clearly in English, but the last moments are clearrly Wukong saying he's going to rip off and break his headband, but EXACTLY before his says that, it seems like he is talking to Guanyin. That would be very important for the conclusion of the game, but I don't want to assume. It would be better to know what he says in Chinese.
You gotta give elden ring a go. That first play through is truly captivating and magical. Magically captivating, it just draws you in. Also demons souls, and lords of the fallen are great. Dark souls 3, really great. All 3 of them were amazing. Also wo long is really good too.
What about the yaoguais such as captain kalpa wave, the three legged, the giants in front of temples, etc.. Do they have any background story related to Journey to the west? (And usual, these have been such informative videos. Game science did wonderful job connecting the original story and the game)
lol, it’s like you don’t understand how RNG works. Rare items are like that, ppl who don’t want it, will have 3 drops for them, and the items you want, will never drop for you. It has been like that for decades! 🙄 In regards of whether BMW should win GOTY, avenueX played only it… she doesn’t even have a frame of reference to judge. What she said is basically from opinions online. It has some truths no doubt, but again, it ignores other worthy games. Last and not least, the case of losing weights while playing game. It might be true for her case, but not for all cases. So don’t try to play game to lose weight 🙄 check out many experienced gamers, many of them are actually obese 😞 if you are never playing high stressed game, I’m sure your heart might work harder. And if you are one that quite competitive and wanting to finish the game for whatever reasons, you might do it and not eating, not drinking, etc. which is not much different from starving 😒 anyway, please use logic and commonsense when hearing all these things.
I liked Dark Matter, as in, the idea was promising. But I find that many western-made series are kind of like a cake that drops in the middle, like a deflated soufflé; they lack an important core and either make me feel nauseated because of the ideology they're trying to push, or just disappointed. The possibility of this attractive world, to be filled with just foolish nonsense, it's like putting make up over more of the same... Edit: I was confusing His Dark Materials with Dark Matter, I might have watched them both, but I don't remember, for sure I did watch HDM and it's the one I was talking about.
I come from Singapore and I've watched JTTW when I was rly young in the 90's as well as Stephen Chow's version where it gets played almost once every year during chinese new year 😂 I can't rly rmb the story anymore as most of my knowledge came from film since i've nv actually read any of the books (my chinese is rly bad now since we dont rly touch the language anymore after we leave school 😅) BUT THANKS SO MUCH for creating this coherent series of video connecting black myth wukong and the JTTW literature. I started playing this game not too long ago and I just felt that it wld be so much more enjoyable if I cld just understand the background story a little more. I found your channel and now my gameplay experience is so much more wholesome and i found the sense of connection back to my childhood, which is so precious. Thank you so much!! I can see the amount of extensive research and time put into these 😭
I say, every relic and its association with the senses added lots of "Oh!" moment when you actually delve into how important they are. I do agree that chapter 2 had the best story. But man, chapter 4, I cried.....so hard!😢
I have to hand it to Ms X for analysing things for us. I was wondering why Huang Jingyu looks more at ease in this drama compared to those with a female lead. For that matter, I never sensed any chemistry vibes between him and any opposite sex. Now in this drama, he is like….wow….does he really need to hug that chemistry guy so hard in the finale??? Do guys in real life hug like that? He placed both arms around him and held him close! 😝😝😝
Kudos for sticking with a hardcore ARPG for the sake of your work, eventhough its really not your thing. They are not for everyone by any means, and its really impressive you're going for it :) Just eat and hydrate enough before during and after!
I hope some day you try Elden Ring the lore in that game its really fun to learn and discover so i hope someday you give i a try... it is really hard tho but fun.
That one really hard, because she had to read all the items. And it is her job too. It is hard to cover something that there are so many quality videos on.
Could a Clone live for 500 years or what ever time he was in the stone/dead? At which point was the clone created to live that long when Wukong was already gone? Asking cause of the death animation where we turn back to hair
I’m involved with my third viewing of the Imperial Coroner and it was the first Chinese Historical Drama I have had the pleasure to watch just 5 years ago. I just found out that the Emperor was considered crazy. Didn’t realize that before. I appreciate your review as you too recognize the character and social construct demonstrated.
Thanks AvenueX! I didn’t see the whole stream, but still enjoyed what I saw. Good memory on Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. Yes agree with you, no hook, no watch. And who cares about the media, we have our own eyes. Yes!! 多谢多谢师傅!中秋快乐!🥮🥮🥮
As a vietnamese, believe me when I say this, as Asian kids who grew up in my generation era had seen 1980 Journey to the West. Heck, we even still remember the theme of the first opening and the second opening song is still stuck in my head till this day. So many fond memories of that series.
I believe that Kang Jin Long being a woman in the game is a reference to the Venus deity/Taibai's original gender before she was changed into an old man as in the original Xi You Ji novel - this is what I recalled from an earlier Avenuex video on the cosmology of the Xi You Ji novel. Keep it going Avenuex, can't wait for more videos on BMWK
