One way I could see his return is that he gets over his hate for fighters and learns that what he really hates is senseless violence. He continues to fight for two reasons. To one day defeat his father. And to hunt down violent people, which would naturally put him at odds with all those terrorist organisations the series likes to use. Perhaps he even achieves some sort of inner peace as a Monk, as he was meant to be a priest. That'd fit with his pacifist-ish nature. But I swear to God, they better not cut his hair if they take that route! Another thing could be that his father is actually Nash and he never actually abandoned them, the reason he left is that he died in battle. Or perhaps he developed a grudge against him because he became a solider and thus had little time for his family. That'd explain the similar moves to guile. And as a soldier, I'd be surprised if Nail has never been to France. I only started playing 3rd Strike a few days ago, originally I wanted to play Hugo, but I found myself drawn to Remy's playstyle much more. Regardless of what route they take, I do hope that he comes back in a developed form.

SF6's story takes place in 2008. Mainly because Mel Masters is shown to be 14, and everything takes place a decade after the 1998 events of 3rd Strike.

I think it would make sense or be cool if they revealed Nash to be Remy’s father. Remy’s moveset is very similar to Guile’s and Nash’s, and unlike Necro, they don’t give an explanation for why he has these moves. Remy and Nash also have a lot in common, specifically SFV Nash. Both are obsessed with their goals of achieving justice or more accurately, revenge, and have an overall nihilistic view. My headcanon is that Nash had possibly married a frenchwoman and had Remy and his sister, and had taught Remy a bit of his fighting style. Then, Nash had to return to duty, and that’s when he died. In SFV after being revived, Nash was so set on destroying Shadaloo, that he never thought about his family, and that’s why he never mentions it. Ironically enough, since Nash permanently dies in SFV, Remy’s goals are a bit pointless and he doesn’t even know. Nash probably never decided to tell Guile or somebody else about his family, so unless Remy mentions that his father is Nash, no one will think to tell him that his father is already dead. I know that was long but Remy gets barely any story development, I just thought this would be neat.

One thing I appreciate about Remy is precisely his bikei design a lot of male capcom characters, specially of that era, are big hyper muscular boys, even the ones that are supposed to be thin. It just feels nice to have one character that is different and doesn't have the huge muscles

You know I'm a Street Fighter II shill. It was the first fighting game that introduced me to fighting games when I was 6 years old but even I admit Street Fighter III should have been a majority of the Season 2 guest characters I love Terry and Mai but yeah I think they were a waste. Don't get me started on Bison they should have brought back Gill instead of Bison. Still love SF6, but Elena is the only DLC I'm excited for

The thing that annoys me the most is that people are praising capcom for this collab. Like did we just forget how bad capcom has been treating us? No patch note, zero communication for 5 months, Terrible monetization, but hey, cool collab right?

I've always really liked Remy as a foil for the pro fighting ideology held by Ryu. Ryu's ideology has always held that combat is a form of expression and enlightenment. A form of wisdom. Remy, to me, represents the a counter point. What if combat is toxic? What if you're pursuing pain and hatred instead of wisdom? At the time I was pretty tired of Ryu's story and I loved the idea that Remy's ideology was a direct challenge to it. In that way I think he fit in rather well. He's an anti-Ryu. Akuma is Ryu's ideology corrupted, but Remy is Ryu's ideology inverted.

I said it for years that capcom just doesnt give a fuck when it comes to SF's story and characters. Not the way KOF does. Actual care, storymodes, manga, continuity, and not repeating the same storylines for 30 years. If Capcom really cared Bison would have died 20 games ago and even if he came back we'd have gone through like 5 villains by now.

My expectations on SF3 roster: Alex, Urien, Hugo, Makoto.

Mokujin is the ultimate character for a casual competitive player which I think after season 1 or 2 becomes the life blood of a fighting game's community.

I use Remy in SF III, and I hate the design. I actually like him even less now after hearing his story.

I'll say this-if they actually manage to do something interesting with the S2 roster, I might be more excited in the long run since they'd have managed to make bangers out of characters I tend to not care about (meaning they'll do so for future characters that I might want). Bison was the only character that I really wasn't happy with, and I'm hoping he doesn't just become evil bad guy again, but I'm still a little intrigued. I won't be happy until we get my boy Sean though, and if Sakura also makes it they'd better actually interact (I still think it's wild they haven't, considering Ryu and Ken are best bros).

Its not that big of a deal bro do whatever you feel the real ones will check it out regardless and i do agree the second Year of SF6 is mid outside of the SNK partnership

Hey it's understandable, I've also came around, mostly I'm kinda interested to see how the s2 cast will work in wt and what their arcades stories are, do the snk characters stories connect to sf6s plot / lore or are they just there for the fun of it? Will Elena's artwork mention/show dudley, mokoto akuma? Can't wait to find out!

Mai gonna really sell a lot though and Capcom they really need something to boost the sales and Terry and Mai are perfect choices but yes I agree Capcom don't want to move on from Bison and Shadaloo like JP who is the boss of 6 is heavily connected to Bison and half the story connected to Bison we will never be rid of Bison.

I don’t even care about lore, having Bison run it back another game after just a year of not being in the game is ridiculous. On top of that the devs were SET on adding Bison to the roster which makes me feel they have their wants over the fans. I just don’t get the fear of SF3 for them, now I’m just hoping we can get a roster half as good as SFV. Also no SFA, FF or even RIVAL SCHOOLS is ridiculous. Maybe the rough start will have a more flourishing and rewarding later stages of the game. But a 4 character season pass is really rigid to the point I don’t want any obscure picks even if it costs the potential of brand new characters which I absolutely love. Please Capcom do some justice and make sure a sizable third strike bunch make it. SFV characters deserved that those guest slots so much too, G and Menat need to make it in. Such a rich universe and they pull this, I’m more on better terms with this than Bison but man.
