I'm honestly not that miffed about it, but I can understand people's frustrations, especially with Bison returning. If Mega Man X has taught me anything, it's that the more you bring a villain back, the more that villain will be less threatening. That spot could've gone to someone else, an old character or a new character, but here we are. But hey, at least we got Elena back.

As someone who's burnt out on the SF2 roster and skipped SF6 at the start because it felt like "SF2+++", I'm gutted they've brought Bison back. It feels to me like Capcom took the wrong message away from SF3 flopping, thinking they can't have new villains because SF3's were new and that game didn't do well. Honestly, I'm more interested in what's happening with the Illuminati than Shadaloo for the Nth time. Which is a shame as the rest of the season 2 lineup is appealing to me. I'm a big SF3 fan and am curious about the new take on Elena, and I've been really getting into SNK over the last few years. As others said, however, they should have come later down the line or season 2 should have had six characters with two being guests. As someone who mained Dudley in SF3 and 4, this just says to me "wait another year and he might be in".

I have no words for Bison coming back, i'm not suprised but i can't help but feel capcom absolutely despises sf3, cause there's no way you only put one of them after a year. I also don't really care for Terry and Mai, nothing wrong with them of course, just kinda pissed they came together to take 2 slots.

While its technically not wrong, it always made me chuckle when so many people defaulted to calling Terry & Mai "KOF characters". Its more of an indictment of SNK giving us years and years of KOF and FF being mostly left behind until recently, but still....😂

As I already stated on twitter. I'm fine with guests... I'm fine with Terry and Mai... down the line I mean... Because what angers me is that we easily got a dozen fan favorits characters that are not in the roster yet. Taking 2 spot out of a 4 characters season pass feels unearned and downright like a waste of space. But the cherry on top was Bison returning... good god... Capcom is still traumatised by SFIII reception aren't they? I was hoping we got over SF2 once Akuma was out... I can't comprehend the disdain they got toward SF3 roster... Sean, Dudley, Makoto, Remy, Necro... What happened with "G."? Wasn't he supposed to be the new menace for the new story? Yeah... this is not only lazy, but contempt towards their characters... I can't believe I'm saying this but... "Maybe Ono respected Street Fighter better than I thought!"

Fans have been wanting Viper, Dudley, Makoto, Sean, etc back for years yet they do this.

Sf6 really feels like it was made by people who weren’t big fans of what sf3 tried to do and it shows. I say guest characters should be held off on until the roster is like, loaded… but to them it probably already is seeing as it already has all the iconic sf2 characters… so disappointing. Terry and Mai should’ve been an alpha character and a newcomer.

I understand what you feel, having two guest take 50% percent of the season roster is disappointing. I think if we had 6 characters, it would’ve been more reasonable to have the guests. Even tho it’s cool to have these characters as guest instead of someone who didn’t correlate to fighting games at all (I’m looking at you Mk). About Bison, it seems that he won’t be the regular evil man returning like we’ve had before… so at least about that I’m intrigued. Overall, I would’ve liked to have only SF exclusive characters if we only had only 4. But at the same time, I’m waiting to see what they will do with them, like we don’t even know if they do like they did with Akuma on Tekken 7 and incorporate Terry and Mai into the Street Fighter canon universe/lore.

I can understand your frustration, but it doesn't seem that M. Bison story-wise will be related to the previous M. Bison in any way aside from having psycho (and soul power) and his name. World tour intro even has him just take M. Bison's name for himself because he has no name to begin with. When it comes to actually killing off the dictator M. Bison (as opposed to hobo M. Bison), Nash definitely succeeded in destroying the figurehead of Shadaloo as it's said in the blog post for him that his goals have become so much more simpler than taking over the world, all he wants now is to understand what will "make him smile". Even with the renewed attempt to bring back their leader, all the remnant's of Shadaloo have been able to do is just respawn someone who looks and acts like their leader, but wants nothing to do with them.

I feel you. We thought the story has evolved but it went right back to the beginning. Maybe that's what Rose spoke about by "going back to zero" lol. My favorite character being Nash, he needs a rematch after being done dirty in SFV in both gameplay and story. I've been hoping Sean (and Elena) will show up in SF6 since he showed up in SFV's story, so I'm disappointed with that so far. Happy and still in shock for Terry though at least.

Seth is back, just not front and center. Seth is behind SiRN and all the robots & copy fighters. In fact, getting Bison out of the way now pretty much means there’s likely bigger stuff coming down the line.

6:20 Summed up my thoughts perfectly. I like the older Street Fighter lore, but it feels like they've advanced in practically nothing after SF3. Every new game is just retreading the SF2 setting. What even is the point of setting SF6 after SF3 in the timeline and aging the characters up if they won't do anything with the Illuminati, G and the Third Strike cast? What even is the point of JP in the game now lmao? By SF7 we gotta have Ryu fighting Bison in an elder's asylum.

Glad i'm not the only one that feels the same way. Terry already appeared in smash bros so him a crossover I was like "eh yea alright" and I don't really have an attatchment for Mai since I never really played SNK games, so them being half the season doesn't appeal for me overall. Never cared much for Elena but i liked her music in SF3 3rd Strike and I did enjoy her the short time I played her, her gameplay isn't for me but I guess she is the one I am most excited about. And I also have to wait until next year for her. I was really dissapointed when M. Bison returned since his saga ended in the last game. So when he showed up again I was like "oh there goes the secret society storyline. Again." . Like keep him dead guys, you already have JP to carry on the legacy if you really want to. I was already dissapointed with the base roster and the DLC since it's just SF2 and SFV characters, and now I don't even remotely care.

4 characters a year is abysmal. 50% of the season is not even SF characters, and the time between the drops is just....... yeah fuck capcom bro. Elena though, I am somewhat content with.

The gameplay trailer for Bison made it clear that they are taking his character in a new direction story wise. Shadaloo is still dead, all of Bison's former followers have moved on with their lives and Bison himself lost all of his memories. JP will likely still be the main villain

I rather Capcom use Gill and Urien and expand more on the Illuminati secret society that they build upon in Street Fighter 3 games, rather than the same Shadoloo organization bit again. The dlc is kinda boring, they should have used Kyo and K’ instead of Terry and Mai. Elena is dope but couldn’t they have just moved on from Bison

For me it's like not only the characters I wanted weren't in at all, but there's no real archetype that appeals to me. I'll give every character a shot but it's a real bummer, especially being a grappler fan (was really hoping for Alex or Hugo). It also feels tough when in world tour they keep flexing and teasing certain characters like Hugo, Cody, Hakan, Remy, etc and there's absolutely nothing. I'll just gotta stick it out with Gief for now it seems.

Given Bison’s lost his memories of his previous life, and seems to be wandering the world looking for answers now, I think it’s safe to say that Capcom may be turning him into more of an anti-hero than a straight up villain. Until he releases and his world tour/arcade mode stuff comes out we can’t say that the story is just going to revert to how it was in sfv.

Yeah i feel you man especially them putting 2 guest characters in this season which we should have 6 characters instead of 4, although for me i will say im exited for this season is just still having 4 characters which 2 guest characters taking up the whole season is ridiculous

You know I just got done watching a another youtuber's reaction to the Street Fighter dlc pack. His reaction was the complete opposite of yours in that he's was happy that M.Bison was back. Now he's entitled to his opinion about it, but like you I enjoy the stories in fighting games(even though I only play at most 3 of them) and never really did online gaming because I'm not a fan of it. However during the video, he's was incredibly dismissive of the story aspect saying it doesn't matter and nobody cares about it and that gameplay is the ONLY part that matters. While he's right to a degree, I don't feel that's entirely fair. Now I love Bison for how unapologetically evil he is and being one of the best villains in the video game industry. While I get how iconic he is in the Street Fighter franchise, using the same characters (with the exception of several) over and over and over and over again and not try anything new, it runs the risk of becoming stale for some players(me included). But the just how I feel about it.

Honestly would have much rather had them bring bison back after a game or two, have him try to come back through Seth or Ed. Have that be a plotline where they fight his possession, eliminate him or have some sort of fusion between a bison/Ed or bison/Seth fusion.

I love KOF. But if I wanna play KOF... I'll go play friggin' KOF. Bipson coming back is okay, although it should've been saved for the final season. Elena is the only choice I'm alright with, providing they rework her Healing super. Heard it was a problem at the end of SF4. Yup. Year One was LEAKED and somehow ended up better than this...

I just wanted to see one of my favorite characters from 3 return, honestly I'm fully giving up, someday I'll see alex or Sean.

I was hoping for the Urien ending to be cannon in 3rd Strike and Gill to be the main villain 1-2 games per villain is pretty good like a presidential term.

whats dissapointed me is capcom decision with the guest character , they didnt bring any characters from slam masters series for decade which is another shared universe game like Final Fight and Rival School. SF got 9 FF Characters and 1 Rival School character which was a good beginning on SFV meanhwile Slam Masters got zero characters in the game even they mention or do easter eggs to be shared with street fighter lore they still didnt made it in the game heck even the game itself (Ring Of Destruction: Slam Masters 2) did not made it on Capcom Fighting Collection. i would be fine when guest character like Terry and Mai joined SF after they introduce the final/ missing shared franchise character just to complet shared franchise legacy.

Even after Elena, there are more KOF characters than sf3. I too am quitting the game, it's a shame.

I'm also dissapointed with the season 2 lineup but I'm waiting to see how it pans out before making any other judgments. Bison seems to have lost his memory and he's using both psycho power and soul power which I'm hoping means they're taking him in a more interesting direction story wise. I guess we'll see.

I'm mostly annoyed over how capcom is gonna try stretching 4 characters over a year and a half.I really do think there should have been more characters.

I feel like Bison has to be a part of it, he's just too iconic. There are many players that loved him. I'm ok with guest characters as well, but them taking 50% of the season 2 roster in a game with very few characters is a little disappointing. To me, the problem is just that the season has only 4 characters. If it had 6, I'd be completely ok with it. Increasing the number of characters per year should be a priority for s3 and beyond

I feel likebi wouldn't be as mixed it it wasn't just 4 characters. If we had just one more character from either 4, 3, or alpha I'd probably feel a lot better especially with what the price tag is I'm glad that the guests feel like... smart choices. They're safe and feel pretty at home for what SF is I'm glad it's not something mega crazy. Even if the CvS vibes are very nice to have.

what is shocking to me is your response. how could you consider Capcom had any intention to be creative this edition when literally the original playable characters from SF2 were planned to be in the game? You could go even further. You have Cammy, Dee jay , Lily (T-Hawk), Jamie (Fei Long)... that is New Challengers. You have Ed (Balrog), Akuma and now Bison. Capcom is two short of releasing Street Fighter 2 Turbo with a new Gauge system. Personally, I immediately lost hope once the character roster was leaked. I have yet to touch this game.

“Creatively bankrupt” sums it up adequately, and unfortunately Capcom has been this way for a little more than a decade. Capcom’s creative juices have been dry after 3S and they have been playing it safe to the point of mediocrity. The return of the grinning troll boss is to be expected. SF6 lost its identity with the inclusion of Terry and Mai and it feels like desperation. Either this is a sequel or a crossover game.

After reading about what they're planning to do with Bison, I'm vaguely less annoyed, and I'm still willing to stick around, but yeah I don't think I'm gonna be maining SF6 anytime this year. Maybe Elena will be that good, but otherwise I'm just gonna stick to playing once a month and keeping up with YT.

With how much they took up the base roster, i would've forbade any sf2 characters as dlc at least until other eras of the franchise felt sizeably represented first. The dev team is full of sf2 kids, ppl wanna talk about iconic or whatever, fine. But the initial 8 plus Cammy and Dee Jay are guarunteed at launch, that's 10 of an 18 base roster. But why is the first game moving the franchise past 3 for the first time in a quarter of a century getting ONE sf3 character LAST in year 2? Granted it's my most wanted sf3 character, but it's head scratching. Still nobody from Alpha, still nobody from Final Fight series despite so much of the big grand single player mode they're trying to hype up being just a giant reference fest for it, and it's minimal sf4 and sf5 love going on. Terry and Mai, on its own, i love. I would prefer SF never had guests (outside of confirmed connected series like Rival Schools and Final Fight). But since they are, I'm glad it's Fatal Fury. Knowing the history of both series, Fatal Fury is like the half sibling of SF. It's just a the way it's structured that bothers me. They're giving us 2 guests while still keeping seasons at 4 characters a piece. I know me personally, much as i dig SNK, them taking up 50% of a STREET FIGHTER dlc season is an odd choice. I know it's inherently selfish to ask, but i feel they should've gone with 1 or 2 more SF characters if they were going to do guests. Either that or like split them up, do either Terry or Mai this time then the other at a later point. Also this feels like a "final couple of seasons" strat, not fucking "this is gonna be half the game's 2nd year". But hey, if it's one more step to CvS3 being a thing, then I can't hate. Only other problem is how they're spacing it out. Why are the guests just sandwiched in the middle? We gotta wait months for them, with another weird ass 5 month wait between Terry and Mai on top of that. They did it season 1 too which is again head scratching. Why have such a large gap in the middle now that we know its on purpose? And for what? To have BISON be first one? STOP BRINGING HIM BACK, KEEP HIM IN THE DIRT, MADE THIS WHOLE ASS BIG DEAL LAST GAME DEFEATING HIM AND MOVING ON FROM SHADALOO. I know they've been doing stuff with JP and Ed but they can explore that without reviving him AGAIN. This fresh open opportunity to do something else, could've even elaborated more on 3's stuff and how that concluded, address all the weirdness with G and Rose's talk about stuff to come in her sf5 story, but a Bison and Shadaloo revival is just so disappointing. Waste man. Tl;DR: Always love Elena, not mad about Terry and Mai just the structure of how they do DLC in general, why are they so allergic to keeping Michael Bison dead, fraudulent writing, there better not be anymore SF2 characters in dlc for at least a long time, please dev nostalgia for that game is fumbling the roster and story so hard

Same here, Terry was ok for a guest character, but Mai? that thing felt so out of pocket....like fan-service, Snk had WAY BETTER options to another guest character, like Haohmaru, maybe Kyo, and most importantly in my opinion, Ryo Sakazaki, thanks to Ryo we have Dan, thanks for Art of Fighting (The game where Ryo Sakazaki is the protagonist) we have mid-air fireballs (Prob most important mechanic of Akuma and way more other shoto characters on other fgc games) double tap dash forward or backwards, taunts, meter, dm (supers), sdm, energy charge and facial damage, and Ryo was the FIRST guest character to be playable on a fighting game! (the first guest character was Karnov on Karnovs Revenge i think, but he wasn't playable) Terry and Ryo would have been a way better iconic duo than Terry and....Mai..... both have been since the beginning of the kof saga and both were the first champions of the kof tournaments, not to say that the guy who created the original Street fighter is the one who created Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting and Samurai Shodown!, about Elena i almost didn't care, yeah there were better 3rd strike options, but i don't care about here, same for Bison.

Bison returns, making Charlie's sacrifice worthless... TWICE. Street Fighter is the only fighting game that does not want to evolve fully fom its grandeur days, Tekken has moved one, GG too; good gosh. And the Star power is understandable, but imo guest characters should complement a roster, not ad to it (it even takes half of a season that takes A YEAR). The only good thing is that with Elena, SF3 is not "dead" dead ao maybe in Season 3 that will be the year of SF3 (maximum cope hahaha).

Then again if capcom actually gave more legacy main stay chatacters more filling story arcs that are more feeling, and we'll be ok with sending them off or maybe skip a game or two

Hot take around these parts but I LOVE Darksiders War Bison! He even comes with a black horse and everything!!! Everyone will feel the wrath of the psycho reaper...unless we get literally Terry Bogart from Smash holy hell! And booba from DOA too?!? Elena is always welcome but please tone down her healing bs Capcom. All in all solid characters for season 2

I hated SFV so dropped it in S1, even so I still had Dhalsim, Balrog, Fang, Urien and Alex in S1. I actually like the way SF6 plays but the roster is terrible, and now will be 2 seasons and 26 characters in with ONE character I want to use, ONE!! Dudley, Cody, Guy, Rolonto, Urien, Gill, Abel, Alex, Q, Yun & Yang, Makoto, Viper, Sakura, Necro, Sagat, Balrog......list is endless, and we get this?? All the usual suspects in the FGC creaming their pants over any character Capcom releases for this game now. Seriously on the verge of dropping Akuma Fighter 6 now.

I think this season would sting a little less if there was one extra character to the pass. I think Terry and Mai will be great inclusions in the long run as long as Capcom doesn't go overboard with guest characters. With 4 characters a year, I hope capcom knows to make most of the dlc fan favorites and a few newbies and not a bunch of guests. As for M. Bison, him being am amnesiac while lazy could at least imply a different direction for him going forward. Makes me hope he's just his own free agent and no longer a major antagonist.

Mai gonna really sell a lot though and Capcom they really need something to boost the sales and Terry and Mai are perfect choices but yes I agree Capcom don't want to move on from Bison and Shadaloo like JP who is the boss of 6 is heavily connected to Bison and half the story connected to Bison we will never be rid of Bison.

I totally agree with you, I'm very disappointed about this season, especially that they added two guest characters, and we've been waiting for a year or two for more street fighter returning charactes to come back. I was really hoping for Cody, C. Viper, Sean, Fei Long, Dudley, and the twins, but we got this piece of crap. I'm not mad about Elena, she is the only character I care about, the rest I honestly don't give a shit about. But I'll have to wait for another year unfortunately, who knows what I'll be doing that time.

the 4 charcter season pass format is the weight that brings season 2 down. I guess JP was such a nothing villain that capcom reverts to Akuma and M.Bison with the quickness lol. Seriously can Capcom and SNK put a little bit more effort with their stories. Whatever if the formula ain't broken don't fix it.

i think if they gave us 4 STREET FIGHTER characters instead of two guests, people would be satisfied. the fact that it’s Bison who’s kind of a given, and Elena who’s awesome but is coming in spring of next year…. i was excited during the reveal but why have characters who aren’t even from the game steal two spots? for an entire year??

I feel pretty much the exact same. When I saw Terry, i found it kinda cool(i don’t care about SNK but i tried being positive and open to what I hoped would be a single guest) and then after seeing Mai I was annoyed. So many characters in SF that could return but we get 2 guest characters in a 4 character season… Not only is it a slap in the face but it’s a redundant one that ruins the pizazz of Terry being in. And then I saw Elena and found it neat. I’m pretty neutral on her. Don’t love her, don’t hate her. She’s better than a lot of 5 characters but i’m never gonna play her. And then seeing Bison just really irritated me. So sick of the SF2 focus especially when the majority of the roster is already characters from 2! I wanted them to skip Bison for at least ONE game but nope. And really? In season 2? Couldn’t wait until the end? Still no Alpha characters. A single character from 3, great… thank you so much for thinking of us for once. I’m not gonna buy any of these characters and anyone who’s excited is just a tourist.

I don’t even care about lore, having Bison run it back another game after just a year of not being in the game is ridiculous. On top of that the devs were SET on adding Bison to the roster which makes me feel they have their wants over the fans. I just don’t get the fear of SF3 for them, now I’m just hoping we can get a roster half as good as SFV. Also no SFA, FF or even RIVAL SCHOOLS is ridiculous. Maybe the rough start will have a more flourishing and rewarding later stages of the game. But a 4 character season pass is really rigid to the point I don’t want any obscure picks even if it costs the potential of brand new characters which I absolutely love. Please Capcom do some justice and make sure a sizable third strike bunch make it. SFV characters deserved that those guest slots so much too, G and Menat need to make it in. Such a rich universe and they pull this, I’m more on better terms with this than Bison but man.

Good Homie: Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui means we can get SNK vs. Capcom 3. I agree with Bison being back, though, it sucks. Bison and Gill should stay gone. We might as well bring Geese Howard back, in Garou 2. It is lazy writing. Let's bring Heihachi Mishima, back, too, while we're at it. This is very bad writing. They might as well bring back Seth, Sagat, and G, too. I'm big on story progression, and let's just be thankful it's not KOF, where Kyo Kusanagi has been 20 years old, for over 30 years. TLDR: I don't plan on playing Bison, and I'm hyped for Terry, Mai, and Elena. Here's hoping for Street Fighter reps in Garou 2, because we need a new Capcom vs. SNK, since we ain't getting Tekken vs. Street Fighter, ever.

Might be too early to say, but how come Terry and Mai get to look young while the street fighter veterans show notable signs of age? It's a weird case of style clash.

The thing that annoys me the most is that people are praising capcom for this collab. Like did we just forget how bad capcom has been treating us? No patch note, zero communication for 5 months, Terrible monetization, but hey, cool collab right?

M.Bison is a waste of a slot to me since he's supposed to be dead and i also didn't enjoy playing him ever. Love that terry bogard is here. Elena is okay I've never really played her. Mai should've been added next season or atleast a different kof character. It would've been cool if iori took ed's spot last season. I hated ed.

I'm disappointed that it wasn't 4 SNK Characters. 😆 I honestly wish it was. They make better Characters than Capcom. SNK made Street Fighter 6 10x better to me. I hate Drive Rush, Drive Impact I can tolerate even though I dislike it. But with Terry and especially Mai it automatically went up the charts to #1 from 5th for me in the Street Fighter Rankings. Alpha 3 Upper was my favorite of all time. I agree with you on Bison. I'm not interested in him at all. He looks cool but I'm still not interested.

I’m in the middle with this. I’m happy a 3 Character is back in Elena. I thought we were gonna get CVS3…but even though the Guest Character thing is weird…this is move that not only promotes City of the Wolves…but it could bring us closer to CVS3. But…I’m iffy with Bison…I saw his trailer late at night…Taiwan Effed up…it’s clear they are doing something interesting with him this time around…maybe as an Anti-Hero as SF6 follows a theme of the Past Moving on to Pave the Future. I remember Digi Valentine pitching in his Who Dat Video on Vega that he should obtain immortality somehow and be Street Fighter’s Grim Reaper…maybe…fingers Crossed Bison isn’t who we’re worried about and Bison is taking a back seat…but…then again…modern fighting game stories. Ever since sf5 going out of their way to make their cinematic story, and how poorly done it was for wasted characters like nash and necalli, i have zero expectations for street fighter story.. leave the story to the Udon comics.

Dude, Bison coming back is not even the bad part of this. SFV story was absolute dogshit and i hope it becomes non canon the way it treated characters like Chun Li. The real problem is the corny guest characters taking up half the pass when we are missing a ton of vets.

If you make your personality being into the quirky, weird fighting game characters no one likes you'll always be disappointed. Sure, Viper and Makoto should probably have been in 5, I think there's a really good shot they'll be back in this game eventually. Necro? Sodom? Remy? Why would Capcom ever bring these back, they're not in any games for a reason.

Bison is better than another gender/race-swap by light years. Also better than fattening the roster with 3 more female characters for a whole season. 2/2 is already lame. The launch roster was already too small for 2024 but fans swallowed it and now they're swallowing only 4 characters a year? Prepare to be disappointed with most of the DLC. ...but ya, weird that you don't want SF to have the SF roster when it's a staple of the series for decades. Almost like you want another SF-like-series but not actually SF. I feel like we had that with remedial fighter 5.
