🚙 Smashing the 4x4 Adventures in Australia - every chance we get!” 🌄
Welcome to Dicey Ricey Offroad’s RU-vid channel where we attempt to navigate 4WD tracks, learn how to modify and camp with an LDV T60MAX without getting lost, breaking down or setting anything on fire. We're not exactly explorers here, but we're having fun!
Why? We're balancing our work and life as a family of four by getting out there and giving it a go any chance we get. We're all about giving it a crack, having a good time, and laughing when things go wrong.
Join us as we drive on some the best off-road playgrounds in Western Australia, one misadventure at a time.
If you're looking for a dose of humour and a nudge to step out and give things a go no matter what you've got, hit that subscribe button and come along for the ride. It won't always be pretty, but it'll always be fun!
Not yet I’m afraid. Mine didn’t come with the bar or the sailplane unfortunately. It was the ‘22 COVID special so no side steps, flares, roof rails or sports bar. If I come across someone wanting to swap theirs off I’ll do a video. 🤙
@ronaldov09 oh! The BYD! I love their cars!! I don’t like the Build Your Dreams across the back of them but love what they’re doing to the EV market!! 👌👌
When you switch some of the safety systems off such as Lane Keep Assist, do they stay off permanently or do you have to turn them off each time you start the vehicle? Cheers for the video!
Oooh good question! I’d imagine they would come back on when you restart the car. But yeah in the previous T60, some settings like the radio default back. I’ll look into it when I do the infotainment video. Thanks for watching and commenting. 🤙
Looks like it sits right about the $50k mark for most dealers. Probably worth checking for deals though. 😁 I don’t like to mention prices too much as they change so often it gets a little inaccurate.
Yeah I didn’t explain that one too well did I? 😅 It’s a flap that’s actuator controlled along the exhaust system. Something to do with the EGR or it’s as simple as an acoustic flap to muffle the exhaust noise.
I got a pre 2022 t60 mines is a luxe 2019 love it man goes great do some light off-roading aswell now with it I’d definitely buy another t60 now owning this one and this one looks sick maybe upgrade in a few years time they just keep getting better a like that
Yeah they do kick it up a notch each generation which is good for us, the consumer! 👌 Good to see the ‘19 going strong too! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Yes i had a 2020 LDV lux .It caught fire and burnt to the ground. They do catch fire ok.Still waiting to hear back from the general manager of LDV.Brought it in Western Australia. They couldn't care less

Yes it has heated seating, however it only heats the base of the seat which is weird. It doesn’t heat your lower or kid back and it feels odd just having the heated seat on your legs. Most people want heated seating to warm your lumbar.
Yeah good point, it’s more like a backside heater than fully heated seats. I’m out on the great central road and I’m appreciating the heated seats either way right now! 🥶
Doesn’t make sense really, can’t use your phone but all our new cars are coming out with these infortainment systems. The AC controls still aren’t on the screen but it’s headed that way now for a few manufacturers. Perhaps this is why we need the autonomous emergency breaking nowadays? 😉
Great review thinking of getting one of these. I have a LDV G10 people mover van 9 years old with almost 200,000 kms and still going strong. LDV are a real threat to the traditional car manufacturers, you get twice the features, similar reliability for half the price? 🤠
Thankyou. Yeah the value proposition coming out from the Chinese and Indian manufacturers is surely registering amongst the Japanese manufacturers. We’re pretty stoked with our T60 and this new one is a huge improvement for the interior. Excited to see what comes next for our market. 👌
@@robvanduren761 hey bud I can’t speak for the cargo version but I’d assume its the same engine as the people mover, mine is a T petrol. Only repair I’ve had to do is replacing the ac compressor at 160,000 ks. Honestly surprised how well it has held up, it doesn’t get driven with a light foot either. Touch wood no issues till I can push it to 300,000 ks
Awesome new utensil. And a massive hello’s & Thankyou for looking after my Trailrider last year when it lost a Egr valve .We cannot thank you enough guys enough . From Brisbane Qld . Cheers Tony &Kym
Just bought one wouldn't mind if you went through the infotainment screens. Love the drive in it can't wait to understand a bit more of the vehicle and see its capabilities, keep em coming Ricey appropriate all your work.👍
Heyyy Thankyou and congrats it’s a really nice T60 and the only grade I reckon to get! 👌 I’ll see about getting some more time in the Plus for a play around with all the tech. 😁
I guess it’s good that it has a seven year warranty then. 😅 But yes, the sentiment behind your comment will be the test of time. They’re advancing quickly and upping quality but have any of the Chinese manufacturers got the longevity formula right yet? Time will tell on this one, although there’s still quite a few 2017,2018 T60’s charging around. Probably a good sign. Mines 2 years in and still trundling along. Guess I’ve got 4 more years to see if she makes it! 😁
Oooh is this released yet? I’m pretty keen to see one in person! That and the Kia Tasman. I reckon the interiors of both will be mental. Keen to see what they’re like in the real world. But no, sorry, no Santa Cruz yet for me. Just another T60. 😅
Haha I guess they have to get their inspiration from somewhere! I kinda thought it was like the Mercedes A-Class with the long single unit with two screens mounted in it. 🖥️
I was a bit skeptical when I first saw the coils were going to feature with the plus but I reckon because LDV have kept the towing weight to 3000kg with 300kg ball weight it’ll sag less than the luxe, and less than some other coiled vehicles. It’s got a better rear axle weight limit than the luxe too so it should ride ok! One thing was the 5 link components looked a little light duty but I only had a Ram TRX to compare it too so I could be miles off. In any case, I reckon it’ll tow fine but I’d be cautious at the max towing weight without considering a suspension upgrade. Though at this point in time LDV haven’t released the tow bar. Hope this helps. 😁
@@DiceyRiceydefinitely think it’s a solid player in the market, we’ve had a few people come past & look at them, it’s interesting to see people looking at BT50 / Hilux / Triton are even considering the LDV, glad to see the market finally adapting to them & LDV bringing something to the table that’s a great package all round
I'll probably end up getting a plus but I'm getting a caravan first hopefully at the end of this year or early next year. Our 22 T60 is going great guns just want to get another so we have one each lol!
Hahaha! Go for it I reckon! Got your own personal T60 convoy wherever you go! How’s your front bumper travelling? Surely with the offroading you do it’s taken a few hits!
@@DiceyRicey surprisingly the front bumper hasn't taken a hit - the plastic cover where a bashplate should go has been destroyed though and the bumper at the back has copped a little bit of gravel rash on the right from the captain Fawcett track but nothing major and that'll all be dealt with when I end up getting a front and rear bar for it. I'll get the entire underbody bash plates too but my main aim is the caravan ATM then all the other bits n pieces and eventually another T60! I'm very impatient though so it all could happen sooner rather than later though lol!
@@TristanMaioloWell the T60 does towing duties well so enjoy that when it happens either later or whenever you get sick of waiting! 😂 The underbody protection is a solid idea though. Plenty of options out there too. 👌
Thanks for doing the review. Not many reviews out there just yet in this specific model. Would be keen to see the megatub version too. Why go smaller if there’s bigger, I reckon. In my mind, I don’t compare this to previous LDV T60s; I compare it to the Cannon X. Still think there’s pros and cons to both. With the LDV, build-quality and support levels will be the telling thing over time, which tops a nice interior. Would be nice if for Australia, cooling functions were priorised over warming functions eg. Steering wheel cooler would me a much better feature than a warmer. Same with seats. And personal preference thing - I’d love to rip that ugly and impractical sail plane off and replace with a standard alloy roll bar setup like Hilux, Cannon X etc. Tks again for the review.
Gosh I hear you there! A cooled seat and wheel would be fantastic in our hotter regions and summertime! I’d take a centre console fridge too if it’s going! 😅 Yeah the sailplane is an odd thing on a dualcab. Mines sail-less and bar-less for the time being but I’ve seen a few bar and roof combos going around that look the business! Ahhh the cannon X. I’m working on getting my butt into one of those for a spin but I’ve got no really experience with them yet, other than the accessory market is huge for GWM compared to LDV. Thanks for watching and commenting, appreciate it! 👌
@@DiceyRicey great comments. Actually, your review of an X would be particularly noteworthy, with your familiarity with the T60. Comparison would be awesome. That’s a video I’d watch!! I’m suggesting the X rather than the Alpha as the latter is playing in a different space now with D-Max, BT-50, Triton, etc.
Thanks mate! If I’m being honest, I’m nervous AF 😂 Never done anything like this before! We think we’re prepared, we’ll know if we were or weren’t soon enough! 😁
One other quick question! Why the hell did they put the indicator stalk on the left side of the steering column? I know the gear selector is on the right, but it would have been smart to integrate both of these into the same stalk.
@craigharrop2756 yeah not sure on this one! It’s very European. Didn’t feel too bad for me as we’ve got a Peugeot at home so I switch between left and right regularly. Definitely more of an international market appeal I’d say rather than our own Australian market? I’m afraid I can only hypothesise about it. 😬🤷♂️
Heyyyy, Thankyou very much! Appreciate the watch and comment. Hopefully I get to do a few more of these in the future, might have to get you in on one too. 😁
Great for a supervisor driving around with a box of screws 🤣🤣🤣 classic. Great detailed review on the new T60 Max plus , I think you will definatly be upgrading in no time at all Peter . Maybe I'll beat you to it with a review like that .
Not a silly question at all and I’m afraid it was the only thing I was disappointed in, it does not lower the pressures. Does everything else, but yeah, no pressure reducing. That’d be seriously useful though. 👌 Thanks for watching and commenting. 😁
@@JoniLenOutdoors I’ve used the same set of Staun Deflators for about 15 years. Nothing special to them but they work. I’ve also got a cheapie tyre pressure gauge from Supercheap Auto. Handy to let out a few PSI if the terrain is a little soft.
💯 Yeah absolutely! I've seen some of these types of starters struggle with a V6 although that was a 1000A and it had small leads which smoked. It was a bit of an event. Reckon I'll have to try it on a big V8 sometime, maybe on the weekend. 😁
Solid question and the short answer is Yes. The long answer is front on the approach is only slightly better due to the curving up of the bar and bash plate. You’ll notice that I’ve bent my number plate because that sits straight down from its mount. Approaching on angles the clearance has definitely improved with the cut away and up design. You can see at 3:13 this clearly on display as I’ve come down a dune dead straight. The sand is across the marginally improved front but not on the sides. If you’ve got the time, check out the OFFROAD with the LDV T60 MAX | Scorching Murchison 4X4 Adventure | Off-grid channel announcement! Video at 6:18 and you’ll see the difference between stock clearance and the bar. Hope this helps. 😁
