Union, League, Rippa, Touch, etc. That's why they call it GRASS ROOTS RUGBY. You'd be far stretched to find any born and bred Kiwi who has NEVER played some Rugby. It's the Country's number 1 game. So the type of play that the All Blacks is famous for (running the ball, trick passes, smart plays, quick phases of play, etc) and the rest of the World are in awe of ... is something that's instinctive to most Kiwis. Also, you don't NEED a bunch of money to play a casual game of Rugby. Pfft ... we used to play it in a backyard with a shoe (someone lost our ball). Hell ... one time we played it at High School in our quad ... a concrete area. Dumbest thing we ever need. Everyone lost some skin that day. These are the mistakes that a lot of the big Countries (especially the Northern Hemisphere) overlook. They think they can dominate Rugby because their population is a hundred times more and they have multi MILLIONS of dollars to spend. In those Countries, Rugby is NOT the number 1 sport. For example, the Rugby Nations in the Northern hemisphere have BILLIONS to spend on their Rugby, their Clubs, their players, their franchises, etc. Yet for all their wealth, the Rugby World Cup has only gone to the Northern Hemisphere ONCE ever.

The "all backs" story has long been discredited and there has never been a newspaper report found that matches that myth, and it would have been too late anyway.
