I've always wanted to design a custom PSP shell that is has a larger screen and more comfortable. No one talks about what it takes connect a larger screen.
Y'know you could use the terrible and self-destructing original Switch analog stick, OR you can use a third party hall effect one. You know, the thing Nintendo didn't bother doing despite it being only pennies more to produce?
Hi dude ! Awesome mod ! I noticed instead of soldering to the flat ribbon connector of the dpad, you went ahead and soldered directly on the Dpad ribbon cable itself which I didnt even know it was possible! I have a 1000 model that I'm trying to install a Sony Ericsson joystick to be able to move the camera effectively in games such as Monster hunter. But, in my psp, its a grey dpad and not copper colored like yours. Have you ever tried soldering on that type of dpad? Thank you for your help bro!
could you connect a ps3/ps4 pad in theory ? would be nice to play all games with that native on psp like you can in resistance (psp) with resistance 2 (ps3 ) can some one view files and figure out how they did it as i have modded my ps2 and can use my ps3 pad with it and usb bt reciver only works with one game for me tho katimari so not a bad one game ahah my point is i know it can be done lets try as a modding community ....or failing that could we take a ps2 pad and adjust to connectors (end part ) to a usb and stick in the top part of psp adding a hombrew button test screen connecting the two ?? if this could be done the psp will never die
NICE MOD BUT YOU SHOULD OF USED THE PS VITA THUMBSTICKS BEING THEY ARE A BIT SMALLER ALSO YOU COULD PROBABLY UPDATE THIS MOD WITH A GULLI KIT THUMB STICK THAT HAS HALL EFFECT SENSORS AND HAS A REMOVABLE/REPLACEABLE THUMB STICK WHICH WOULD MAKE INSTALLING IT A BIT EASIER THEN MAKING A GIANT HOLE IN YOUR PSP FACEPLATE
Tried to clean my joystick last night due to being tired of it feeling like it was grinding the stick when moving it and having drift issues. I ended up breaking it more as I tried to do too much in taking it apart including inner spring, which messed up that spring. But this video makes me want to try using one of the new Gulikit Switch joy-con replacement thumbsticks in it for 'science'. They have been sitting at my house for months while I wait for my switch lite thumbstick to get bad enough to justify replacing it.
Subbed right away when i found your channel bro! I'm just getting into modding my psps as well! Added a second nub to my psp 1000 for facebuttons. One question though, i noticed that the dpad flat cable circuit is different in your psp than it is on my 1000 model; it seems that you were able to solder directly onto the ribbon cable itself?! What serial number is your psp 1000?
