I would give anything to see and hear that again. My grandad and I would go there every single weekend whenever they were running steam and ride sometimes every train they ran that day. I stopped by to visit about a year ago and see what the railroad was up to with 65, and to my shock it wasn’t sitting outside rusting away like it had been for the past few years, rather they were restoring it! It hurt a little to see the ole girl in as poor shape as it was in pieces in the shed, but I know that the people of the wk&s are good folk and they’re doing anything they can to bring her back to life. Maybe, some day in the future, my grandad and I will get to relive that all❤
Tim White Maybe someday #89 could get a D&RGW 3 Chime (Same sound as #473's whistle), CNJ 3 Chime, Crosby 3 Chime, SP 6 Chime and Logging 3 Chime. Any ideas and thoughts?
Great video! I loved the shot of the train going over the camera with hardly any shake. That would have been a great shot on a geared locomotive. Thanks for sharing .
Lima Locomotive Works, Inc., had a very practical steam engine in the Shay family, with plenty of room for the engineer and fireman to do their respective jobs plus a jump seat for the front brakeman on the left. On this coal-fired three-truck, the firebox's butterfly-doored mouth is easily wide enough for the fireman to "spot-hod" several points on the grate within for even combustion.
#90's smokebox looks a little shorter, I saw pictures of it in the 80s and the smokebox hung out longer, did strasburg remove the extension? they should put the headlight visor on, it looks better.
Great video Kevin. I have probley watched this video 20 times since this had been posted. I need to make a trip to Cass, never been there but would love to go there.
