I've been knocking for about 3 years now and a little trick I learned is knock on your first few doors where you know nobody is home. No car in the driveway,over grown grass, abandoned or for sale. You'd be surprised how it gets you in the rhythm to knock. Another good experience I had was knocking for a political campaign, it was easy cause you're not selling anything just spreading the word but I had to try and convince them to take a survey. Convincing someone to do a survey is a great start for learning how to convince someone to buy something from you. Rule #1 if you dont truly believe in your product you're never going to sell it. Rule #2 Get your *** out of the car!!!
Sunrun installed a defective roof on my house. After two years of numerous phone calls and emails and contact with three Sunrun associates, my roof is still damaged. They say they are unwilling to finish repairing the roof which they installed. which will cost me $7000. They forced me under duress of driving rains to get my own contractor, when they claimed an in house contractor was unavailable. But when further damage and further leaks appeared at a later date, they tried to suggest the repair person was at fault and claimed that two active open leaks in my home weren't active. I think Sunrun was attempting to inoculate themselves from a lawsuit with this blatant lie. They NEVER at any time made an effort to simply come and repair the roof on their own volition. They ignored me and my leaking roof, except when they were put on the spot, and were avoiding and evasive most of the time. I had phone calls and emails not responded to sometimes. If you think you are protected because you have the belief that Sunrun is a large legitimate company, remember: with them it's all about the money and only about the money. Everybody was nice and flowery and cheerful, until it came down to the hard reality of restoring my roof to a normal condition. In their own words, they claimed that my original roof was just fine. So they damaged my home by putting a bad roof on my home. And they have no intention of even correcting the damage from their installation.

Excellent! I am still getting through the difficulty of being new to this work; not so new, about 8 weeks in this type of industry. I appreciate the thoughts here. I would one thing. Stay away from negative bullshit on the internet; REDDIT! I really torched my psyche by getting stuck on that garbage. It was negative binging. People on Reddit generally don't know a thing but they are quick to call D2D workers complete garbage! That isn't true at all! I know some very good people that do this. With the research I've done, the problem stems from the lossy compression used by VOIP to reduce bandwidth. Unfortunately there's no way to turn it off. Turning off error correction and adjusting speeds is a workaround but it takes some trial-and-error testing.
