Its so much fun because it flies over the head of everyone else except Penn & Teller. The genius part is that it looks like a normal magic trick, one that Penn & Teller are very familiar with and know perfectly. They know the trick, but the problem is that all throughout Kostya is doing it completely wrong and, SOMEHOW, the trick ends up coming out perfectly. That's what was frustrating Penn so much, that he could see the trick right in his face, that he was thinking "god damn, you are doing it all wrong!" and then the result ended up working nonetheless.

When this was done the slow motion was less advanced but nowadays one can see he does a trick after he has put Penn’s card in the deck and before he tables the card deck. It’d been clear for P’n’T had they had good slomo available.

@@Veronicat-of4nz yeah but in the show P&T never replay anything. The whole point is to ask “were you fooled watching it live once,” not “were you fooled replaying it slow motion 7 times on RU-vid?” :-)

I realized after watching a few times he meant to grab just one.. but acted like he pulled it off perfectly which was confusing and I wasn't sure why people were clapping for an obvious mishap .. lol. Still a thousand times better than what I could ever do. I would have been blown away if he had pulled it off for sure.

It wasn't a magic trick as Penn pointed out. It was just memorising the cards instead of doing any magic. That's how he tried to fool them because people normally suspect things like filed edges or weighted cards when trying to work it out instead of just being good with your hands and a good memory which is how it was done
@tugumerobert2353
