Thats pure skill and experience. No illusion, no bs.

I decided to reveal the method myself because I think "revealed" videos online are just terrible. They steal from the artist; they give away their art of craft without permission. And they steal from the viewer, who is given the illusion of knowledge. The people who make those videos don't know what they're destroying, including their own reputation. I wanted to use what I thought was a negative pull into a positive push. I encourage anyone who wants to learn magic to go to the source, the books, the videos and the artists who create them, not the people who steal from them.

The skill and practice required for this kind of precision is absolutely astounding. You are a true master of your craft, sir. Well done.

Walking off stage, Penn said, “He’s better than you think, I’m telling you that!” Well, once it was revealed that you actually did what you did, everyone, (magicians and lay people alike), knew immediately and without question something I’ve known and been witnessing for years: Just how talented you truly are. And then to have Penn tell us you’re even better than we think says a lot about their respect for you and your true level of talent. I’m happy to see you get this kind of recognition. And you can use it in your speaking engagements to show that hard work, dedication and perseverance WILL pay off. Pursuing our passions can make the seemingly impossible for others less dedicated, an eventual, achievable goal for us as individuals who stay focused. Well done, Sir. And...I’m not the least bit surprised by your achievements. You’ve worked for, and deserve, every damn one of them. Congrats, and much continued success.

The fact that you do that trick for real is the best magic I've ever experienced. It is magical to me that a person can train themselves to do what seems impossible. Your more conventional magic ( if you could call magic conventional ) is also very impressive and fun to watch.

"People wanna know the effect but not the method" This statement really struck a chord in me because it made me recall one of the best movies about magic - The Prestige. It made me remember the ordeals Angier had to go through just so he could outdo Borden and that no one would ever know the pain that he had to go through in every performance. Truly amazing.

Well in the two weeks since I first saw your first performance on Fool Us! you have gone from someone I didn't know, to someone who is in my top twenty favorite magicians of all time, to being in my top five. So Kudos to you for that. I am not a Magician and I am not someone who keeps track of the magic community, but despite that I knew of magic growing up, and I knew some of the people who was doing it and who were famous. My interest peaked when I saw Penn and Teller for the first time and I plateaued for a long while... only for you to be the spark to reignite my interest in it. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you for doing what you do. You really are someone who is worth watching and I won't soon forget your name.

Hell of a man ! In this trick what was most important it was you - Real Magician with Real Personality. That's what Penn and Teller appreciated most.

What amazes me about magic is the variety of ways magic is performed. To use pure practice of timing of the drop of each card in pairs for the entire deck is indicative of just how dynamic magic is. And it's amazing. It's almost like a professional athlete doing a trick shot; like yeah there's the culmination of the craft but then there's just this one specific technique they just drilled the shit out of.

I also think it's really impressive that he conceived this method himself and stuck with it. If you're adapting someone else's method, you know it can be successful because you've seen it done to completion, so you just need to keep at it until you get it down. But with no precedent for this, I feel like it would be very tempting after a month or so to say "Man, this method just does not work" and give up. It takes a lot of confidence in your ideas and your skills to stick with this long enough to see it through. He said in the video that it took years, and I believe him.

You probably won so big with Penn, because he's more about the juggling and skill... for me, this is still magic because it's past the normal frame of human conception and I'm just in awe, I can't conceive of counting or tracking that fast, and part of me still believes it's a trick, not juggling... I think you did something amazing here where there's more magic when you know what the trick is, and I'm so glad you shared the secret! In a weird referral, i feel like i could watch this 100 times and still feel amazed because of it.

His presentation skill is also something that is amazing in and off itself. On top of magicians practicing their craft, they have to practice how to tell a story. Kudos to the dedication

Not only do I have more appreciation for magic and this effect but for you as well. We spend so much time perfecting an art that no one gets to see. They see the end but not the hours put into something we hide from them

This is very true kostya. There's a British magician called ollie mealing you've probably heard of. If anyone hasn't, hit up his YT, he's incredible. And he does the pick a card, find the card trick backwards. He pulls out a card, has the spectator pocket it, he then has them choose that same card from the deck and finally reveals the card isn't in the deck. And I figured out a really cheap, dirty way to do it without palming. I could have just copped it but I figured a really clean looking gimmicked way. Your spectators don't know how hard the trick is to do. Very true

I’m not a magician at all, I just enjoy it. I watch P&T to see if I can find the tricks. When I see your work, I’m just blown away. I yell at my phone “He can’t be doing what I think he’s doing!” But you are. It’s such a skill, well done.

I can relate to what you said here. When I saw Jeff McBride manipulate cards for the first time it was pure, genuine magic for me. Once I learned how he did it, I was even MORE impressed (which I didn’t think was possible). There are gimmicks that can help you backpalm cards but seeing the real deal performed by a skilled magician brings on a sense of awe. I got that same feeling watching your performances on Penn and Teller, and knowing the skill it takes to catch cards like you do brings on that same sense of awe.

From Argentina I just wanna say that as an English Language teacher I always tell my students "practice makes perfect", YOU sir are perfect in what you do! and a clear example of perseverance and patience as well! You are amazing!!

I saw your trick on the latest Fooled Us and told my family "I'm actually more impressed knowing this guy actually did the thing he said he did than with any magician's trick I've ever seen in this show before." That remains true. The dedication to truly master a deck of cards like you have is amazing, full-stop.

When I watched the act and Penn talking in 'Code', I came up with the same exact thing, still a great effect 👍👍👍

It is always the best to get the reveal information from the author, because they know everything about how they did it, why they did it and even how they came up with the idea to do it. I really wish there was another trophy on Fool Us to appreciate magicians who do not fool Penn and Teller but simply amaze them with the insane level of skill they have like you there. It is incredible control of cards you have and knowing how it is done simply makes it even more amazing. PS: This is one of my favourite "not fooled them" moments in the show.

Kostya Kimlat gave a new meaning to the word "magic". This is pure talent! When you see something and you say "this is impossible", this is the magic comes. It is so obvious and not at the same time. I had a theory on this trick that you used a sneaky finger break to know where their card was but apparently not which is amazing. You amaze me sir. I have an idea on how you did your first trick on penn and teller as well without gimmicks or anything. The idea I had explains many of your moves. Still doesn’t mean I can pull it off. I’ve been practicing that trick you did the first time on penn and teller. Truly remarkable your fluidity.

So your fast enough to grab that card and you even know where it is. How is that not real magic.

Awesome it's rare to have someone show how it's done as it's an original method .. but we'll done and thanks it shows the younger generation that if you put in the hard yards to practice your efforts do get the appreciation it deserves

I eat glass. I was out to dinner with the then-VP of the IBM a few years ago and mentioned that and he asked me a wonderfully phrased question of how I do it, not to get a revelation but indicating he knows five ways to fake it and wanted to know how I do it. I grinned wide and said "I do it the hard way." Because I mix it in with magic, so nobody believes it, but my presentation is clean as can be because I actually do eat glass.

What peeps don’t realise is the amount of time needed to perform just one trick. Imagine learning the whole deck and where every card sits, then countless hours of dropping perfectly the cards but to then calculate the precise moment to catch one of 26 cards. I’m not a magician of any kind but I do try and work out how something is done and I did pretty much say how you did this beforehand. But the work involved, sir I salute you for your dedication. I think what’s more amazing is that in the first instance you grabbed three cards and asked what the card was and then grabbed the correct card. In the reveal you still had no idea what the card was until you showed it to the guy and asked if that was the right card and he said Yes!! It really is a 17 years or more worth of experience in that trick and I doubt anyone in the planet could achieve the same skill and technique and accuracy. Without a doubt a truly magnificent display of magic and skill. My hat most certainly comes of to you on this trick..... it takes less time to be a qualified Doctor in ER than to perfect this trick..... BRILLIANT and thanks.

I love the idea of putting this trick out there because there really are more and less difficult tricks. That doesn’t downplay the intelligence to make a trick, but it’s true. You’re doing one of the most difficult methods I’ve ever seen for what could be considered a small effect in the scale of a magic show, but the balls of it makes it feel so real because it is. And because you really pause, and you really settle in and then you really do it.
