I don't know why metric would confuse anybody it's a 10 base system how can you be confused by anything that's based on 10 units of anything? Maybe it's because I'm a machinist I've always appreciated the metric system. I'm not a professional machine this but I've been an amateur for a decades

Tip: When drilling a hole in the box, try heating the surface with a hair dryer first and using the drill in reverse, this helps to avoid cracking the box and leaves the hole perfect.
Theres a better way to geometrically design the shelfing... Rather than being parallel to the length of the room you have one end of the shelf touching the left wall and replicate down so that theres a library style pass through on the right side and proper isles showcasing one side of each shelf around you
I use a UV-C lamp when I pour agar in my Petri dishes for my mycelium cultures. I let them harden and cool under the light, and then put the lids on when they’ve cooled down. This way I don’t get any contamination or condensation ☺️

I’ve seen in many Master’s Mix recipes calling for 50/50 hardwood to soy hull pellets with 60% water by weight. If I’m doing my math right (and I might not be), it looks like you’re using almost 55% water by weight . Is that correct? If so, do you see much difference in the 5% discrepancy?
Yes hes using 55%! I have tried with 60% water and it didnt work well, so this time im going to try with 55%..... mycelium stop growing with 60% water.
75% rate of contamination is far from "pretty good results". And, I wouldnt consider that one plate with the large dot of trich "near clean". Theyre are either clean or contaminated. 3 out of 4 plates tested were most definitely contaminated, not good. If this were my experiment I would consider this "flow hood" an utter failure. With good sterile tek my BBFFU can easily provide over a 90% success rate. It only costs about $70 to build, and takes about 10min to construct with zero tools or mechanical aptitude required. There are inexpensive options out here that do allow for high rates of success without breaking the bank, however the one in this video is not one of them.
