Ok, so I'm looking at this 3 years later. I'd be VERY interesting in hearing your thoughts on the Raven now, please share. I REALLY wanted a Raven panel. After much research I decided against it based on the issues I have heard others having with them. Actually I wanted the whole desk SOOO bad, but not if it doesn't work reliably. I'm thinking of getting a touch screen monitor and hooking it up to my PC via a monitor arm, or maybe a touch screen portalbe monitor, it would be way less expensive and all I'd use it for is to view the mixer window in Studio One. I use a Streamdeck with studio on so I probably don't need the Raven software. Have you takien a look at the Faderport 8 and 16 devices? I picked up a Faderport 8 a whlie back, and the only drawback I have in using it is that it has only 8 channels! It works that good, expecially in Studio One. Seriously, take a look at these modules if you haven't already.

Hello, could you please help me with something ? I am a windows user without thunderbolt. The guy at the store told me not to take the twin usb stating that the converter on the newer solo usb3 was better. So I took Apollo usb3. Now I realize that I cannot use fender twin + another dsp demanding plugin like chamber. Can I record with the fender first then apply on the track a chamber after tracking the fender (don t know it there is a lost in quality in reprinting something …? Is it true that for windows I just have the choice between new Apollo solo usb3 and old Apollo twin usb and that the old Apollo twin usb is less good sounding that the new Apollo solo usb3? Thank you very very much if you could answer. At the end of the day all I wanted was a twin Apollo with usb - but he told me he just has older twin usb that we’re less good than the new Apollo. I think the guy did not have a twin usb and sold me that.
@Callthatreverendmusic
@Callthatreverendmusic 2 года назад
It is true that for Windows you only have the options of the solo and the older usb twin. I can’t say for sure though whether the newer USB solo has a Better DA converter. You can Record one of the plug-ins,/print to track, and then add the other one as an insert. Personally there are ya plug-ins that I print to track 100% of the time. Sidenote, last year I bought a Mac and the Apollo twin X to be a bit more mobile, and to take better advantage of my UA plug-ins. Nonetheless I still print some plugins to the track.

Hey Rev I enjoyed the video...im looking to get back into home-based recording after a decade of not doing it or having any equipment... I have a PC and it is also touch screen(HP spectre) it has one USB 3 port and 2 USB- C ports. I've been debating getting this Apollo solo or do I just wait for the Volt to come out.....the price of the Solo is no longer $500 like you had said..its over $700 now...the Volt is only $300. I mainly just do guitar and vocals however occasionally I want to do a full production with drums bass and keys and some fiddle and steel overdubs etc...so the thing is for me is I'm gonna be using studio one for my DAW with a faderport(presonus). So vocal quality is everything for me...thats why I want those higher quality mic pre amps...So my question is..now that you've had your solo for a while now...is it still good...any hick ups..or issues running with windows USB-C? and my second question is which would you recommend the solo, or Volt? I was also reviewing the zen go and the Audient... they seem pretty comparable and solid as well...I would just love to hear your thoughts.. Thanks Rev.

Hey man I have been rocking with my Apollo solo for a while, I loved it so much that for my portable rig I got an Apollo twin X. I haven’t had any trouble running the Apollo on PC using the USB C. And I did see that they stop selling the solo for 500. That’s because they are only selling the heritage edition with the additional plug-ins. I can’t say Whether or not the volt would be a good cheaper alternative. I haven’t used it yet, but when I do I’ll be sure to shoot a vid. What I can tell you though is that I am extremely satisfied with my UA Apollo products
