Why?.. Common sense can prevail if you can see clearly that there no in come traffic..why do we still have to stop? It makes sense if the intersection is in the hill that may obscure your views..or in high crash areas..but in flat clear view area..it does not make sense to put it there..
Thanks for your videos, those are really helpful. Could you upload one that covers how to pull over and stop correctly towards the kerb, please? I'm not quite good at it.
It goes both ways. If you affect traffic flow, you affect safety. But recently, the traffic lights are horrendous in their judgments. I dunno whose operating them. Or what's operating them. But it's bad, 2007-2016 wasn't like this.
Do you need to only look over shoulder if you go into the flush median late? So if going into the flush median earlier you don't need to look over shoulder? The video suggest so.
One thing the I think wrong with this lesson is indicating signal before checking mirrors. I think we must check mirrors first before indicate signals.
At the 2:31 mark the blue vehicle which is turning right is supposed to give way to the green vehicle which is going straight ahead as the stop and give way sign cancels each other out especially if the green vehicle got there first!.
I passed my full license on January 4th. Felt so happy when we drove back to VTNZ Lower Hutt. This video is ok but I think theres too much commentary going on. The testing officer only wants to hear comments on moving hazards only.
That one with the pedestrian though. They shouldn’t be allowed to cross if the driver has the green light to go… but I guess that would be a hazard to look for in the test…
A green light simply means that the driver may enter the intersection, but it does not guarantee that the path ahead will be clear. Give-way rules still apply. See clause 3.2 of the Land Transport (Road User) Rule 2004. The only time when you won't need to give way to pedestrians or to oncoming traffic is when there is a green ARROW for your chosen direction.
