I'm Meghan Stark, founder of Great Lake Supply Co., who resides and rides in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I've been riding on the street since 2016 (in the dirt long before then) and currently own a 2017 Ducati Scrambler Cafe Racer. This channel includes motovlogs, think-piece and video essays, product reviews, and more.
Thank you for this! I have been interested in learning to ride for about a year now but haven’t signed up for MSF yet. Videos like this help me hope that my dream might be a reality one day
I'm a weird guy myself, but I don't worry about labels anybody wants to put on me. You're a great person, a successful businesswoman, and have found a way to be happy on two wheels. "F" the labels, and just be yourself. If the comments are any indication, I think we've got your back.
.. You look good with your outfit that's a nice bike should be good handling yeah it's not my reflex as my first two bikes were Suzuki C50Ts and the 2nd being full coverage got my Honda Valkyrie Interstate I'm in central OK riding to San Diego 1st week of October 2024 High Ten ...
Taking a new rider course through Harley and I've been enjoying your videos as I prepare. My parents are Harley riders now but weren't in their younger years. I see it as a brand for mature riders if I'm honest.
Rider in FL, trucker everywhere else. ADHD since I was a kid! Always wish I were on 2 wheels instead of 18 when I'm in Wisconsin. Fun ramble, beautiful ride. Welcome to the neurodivergent space. 😜
16:17 not entirely true--for some of us, motorcycles are also our special interest. ;) I have so much respect for you Meghan. Thank you for sharing your experience, and congrats again on your upcoming wedding!!<3
Just want to tell you just because of you I found this bike . In India, it was really hard , finally bought this august, you have changed the way I see life. I know I may not able to tell you how thankful I am, my English not that expressive. Just a big thank you.
Thanks for being so honest and up front. During my career I’ve worked with people who (I believe - I’m no expert) are on the spectrum and they contributed so much to our team’s sucesses. Congrats on the becoming an “auntie” and your upcoming wedding. The motoVlogs are great, I’m from MKE too and you’ve inspired me to head down South Shore Park for the farmers market this weekend. Watch those yellow lights! Peace!
I really enjoyed this video! I’m audhd, diagnosed 3 years ago now. I actually really like the sound of your riding and am currently working toward getting a motorcycle license and getting a bike. Thanks for making this video, it’s great to run into other ND folks online. I gave you a sub and like.
In society we want to be excepted and put limitations in place0 to fall within those parameters. At 55 I'm very specific in what I want people to see, mostly cos I don't want to be judged or mistaken to be someone I'm not. Social cues are a hit and miss for me and putting into words what I'm thinking is challenging but people except me for my strengths. You are kool Meghan stark and your ride conversations are always interesting and always relateble. ❤
You know with a good bike bag i could easily pack one of my long skirts i love so much switch from riding pants to long skirt at location and easily switch back even if theres not like some easy spot to change cause slip skirt on over pants take pants off never be unduly exposed but also if its cold and the riding pants arent to bulky then you could just leave em on since all my skirts are pretty much floor length
Good on ya. I'm another Autistic biker. Been riding since 1977. I think for me, the focus needed to ride suits me, and really helps with mental health.
You just be you and it doesn't matter if others can't except that then let them be them. Flow with life your own way. We all have to follow our own path through life. No one has the magic key to always unlock the right doors. It's all trial and error any way.
First time on your channel. First impresion? What a genuine oldschool USA vibe that I remember from visiting your country more than decade ago. Make America great again. Regards from Poland.
Are you really watching for hazards while doing this "deep chat". I just want to get from A to B quickly, not into having a conversation while riding. I don't know how you can be focused on your journey and be thinking about philosophies.
Great video, really resonated with me as being diagnosed autistic myself later in life. Its been an interesting couple of years of self discovery but worth it!
My nephew is the same way. I raised him and in the beginning I didn't understand. I was a parent in denial. Not my nephew. Changed his school, detained him a grade maybe he was just a slow learner. Then I started to learn and try and understand his struggles being Autistic. It taught me to be patient and understanding. To this day Before I head to work. He has to give me a hug and when I get home with a I love you. It melts my heart even though he's in his 20's. Same with his ADHD and his speech impairment. Now that he's older it's not so bad Or......I got to know him and I understand him more. It's as if his brain is having a normal conversation but his words out of his mouth was every other word. Getting him to slow down and speak every word was a struggle. To him it was trying to speech in slow motion. He would get lost in trying to focus. The list goes on but I'll just keep it short. The biggest Heart anyone can ask for. I tell him he has something greater then even me. His brain may be wired a little different. and to use his gift to his advantage. Never let his disability be a crush to hold him down. I wish you well in your journey. Here in a few hours I have a big hug coming my way !!!!
I get you concealing yourself online with some stuff. Especially as a woman and a rider. A lot of weird people out. I do however hope you telling the audience your autistic and have ADHD/AUDH will make you feel more at ease too. Nothing wrong with that at all. Majority of people have similar traits like that. More or less then you both is possible.
I self diagnosed at 31and came across your vids a little while ago and immediately connected with your vids, I guess how and what you talked about and figured, oh her brain seems like mine, probably autistic and adhd haha. And now here we are, kind of vindication for my self diagnosis and proof that like minded brains just find each other much easier to connect with <3
This was great, good on you Meghan. I'm very similar to you in just about all respects and it's always interesting hearing others experiences. Thank you.
Aren’t all females technically Neurodivergent ????😂😂……sorry that joke just wrote itself. I was born without a sense of smell so we’re basically twins……. Although I’m a 6’4 57 year old male. 😁 once again joking. I poke fun at people I like. Keep being you. Keep doing Moto vlogs, your just fun to listen to. I’m getting back into riding. Used to have a sport bike. Will be getting some of your awesome soft armour. Been watching you off and on for years now. Cheers Graham from BC
Whether folks come here first for the product descriptions or the motorcycle discussions, we all stay for the one thing we can find here that we can’t find anywhere else: you. If you aren’t yourself then you take away your best feature!
someone once said (not sure if this applies to everyone) people who are neurodivergent tend to look through the filter of "is this true" while others see and explain the world by what benefits them.
I love Milwaukee, and I think you did a great job on the video. My wife and I visited a few years ago. Just you driving and talking is fine. Giving a tour would be great release, just riding and talking. Good job Meghan.
