The football match was actually Maidenhead united V Maidstone United in the Corinthean League fixture. The 22 footballers got £2 each for being extras in the movie, they filmed for several hours but were only the final film cut for under 2 minutes. Later Petula Clarke kicked off for their real match. Filmed at Maidenhead's York ground with pottery kilns painted in by Ealing studios. I couldn't find out who played the footballer Ted Callear. His part was uncredited as he never spoke. This was Petula's FIRST onscreen kiss !

We used to live in an apartment in the exact spot this was filmed, it’s One Dock Street in Leeds. The bridge adjacent apartments have wide entrances over the river where docking containers and boxes off canal boats was done back in the day. They all have small balconies now, this was taken from one of the docking spots in the side of the building (later converted to balconies).
Well I am old & enjoy classics that are pure & comedic that show you can have a good movie without sex, language coming from a toilet. These movies are just plain funny movies.
Detective philo Vance ( William Powell) investigates when a ruthless, crooked stockbroker (Richard Tucker) is murdered at his country estate! Mr Powell does a good performance as the sleuth-so does William Boyd (who is always confused with the other actor of the same name, but a western star! ) Eugene pallette) as the police sergeant and others! A real good whodunnit! 👍👍👍👍💥😳🍿👀😀
I remember watching this quite enthusiastic motion picture film back in 1888 with the merry lads, it was epic. The man walking across the lawn with the 2 women dancing for 11 seconds and the other man dancing. Best film *EVER!* 10/10 (why haven't they released the sequel in 100 years?)

wow im so moved by this wonderful motion picture, the pacing of the film was so long lived it hooked my interest, i was so thrilled i called my family to gather in the dinning hall with the slaves, to admire this wonderful piece of cinema. we feasted and jumped happily around.

I am from Boston and my pediatrician, Dr Lewis, was also Shirley Temple's pediatrician whenever she was in the area. He had a huge and beautifully framed portrait of her hung on the wall behind his office chair. I always felt so honored! 😊 Dr Lewis was my first borns pediatrician but he was getting too old and retired not long after.
