Nice job with this video. I am in the process of researching kayak fishing and will hopefully be buying my first kayak soon. I appreciate all of the information you provided, especially since this is your first kayak. Keep up the good work!
Thinking about moving to Washington state or Alaska been looking at alot of kayacks that's probably going to be a future purchase I like your stickers my father is a first cav veteran thanks for your service and the informative video
You mentioned scuffing up the surface and adding silicone before applying the mount. Can you explain how you scuffed up plus where and how much marine silicone you added please?
I used 60 grit sandpaper and lightly sanded under the base plate on the hatch lid. I just used a small bead on the sticker adhesive area to give it a little extra hold. Seems to be working great.
It’s hit or miss depending on how knowledgable your MVC is but just make sure you have your paperwork in order…. Bill of sale/purchase receipt and MSO. I usually go to the Newton MVC bc they’re pretty familiar with kayaks.
Hmmm. Never tried it backwards but if it works, I don’t see anything wrong with that. I put my cart in the far corner of the truck bed so I wouldnt have the space if I put the kayak in backwards.
@@WannaFishAllDay appreciate the response ... I'm new to the sport and just making sure I get as much and tell as possible and make good decisions. My cart fits either way but I may try forward next time. Thanks again
Anytime. My kayak also has built-in handles on the stern so just made sense for me to put the nose in first. Not sure if I’ve seen anyone put the kayak in backwards.
Would you recommend the autopilot over the sportsman 106 with the mini kota motor? Those are the two I’m between right now and didn’t know if the extra money is worth it.
I think the spot lock feature on the AutoPilot is worth the extra money but it really depends on how you fish. I also think having a trolling motor is amazing!
Great vid! To the point and common sense! Had the exact same experience... got the kayak, thought the pedals looked fine, then got to fishing and hauling across big water. Nope... the pedals won't do. Thanks for the "pro tips"! lol
Great video I’m wanting to get a second garmin on my flats boat up by the trolling motor because that’s where I always fish and I usually fish dirty water that i can’t see depth or anything this is exactly the part I need
thanks for the nice step-by-step. I've got an old PDL. worst part of my day is loading and unloading and am always looking for better ways to tweak the process, short of buying a trailer.
I bought a used AP120 and it came with a Renolagy 100 battery. Was 600 new but it quits with a full charge after an hour. I am not keen on paddling 5 miles against the wind and tide to get home. Luckily I knew to stay close to the launch. I go out LONG days. I’d peddle my Hobie for 10 hours sometimes. I’m gonna order one of these, maybe 2.
I use this dolly for my Lure 13 5 i launch the same except I use a strap in in the bow I have a motor on the stern and it can teter up I tie it to my bed extender to retrieve it up the ramp.
Yes you can but will need a network hub if you are gonna use two 93sv’s. I ended up switching one to a 106sv (has 2 network ports) so I was able to avoid using the network hub. I believe Garmin sells one called GMS 10.
Nice video! I’m looking into getting a pedal 120 soon. Do you think putting it into the bed of a truck should veer someone away from getting one? How hard really is it?
