I’ve been bowling for 30 + yrs and now want Gary to drill my bowling balls and I’m from ohio. He’s patient and calm but to the point. I feel like I make my pro shop guy mad every time I go into his shop 😳🤦🏻♂️
I've recently been getting into bowling and was thinking of maybe getting my own ball and the bit where he measured your middle and ring finger I was like ''Why is he measuring the ring finger and not the index finger?''. Then you asked too and yeah that's so interesting because I can't imagine not using my index finger but I'll try it out with my middle and ring finger next time I go bowling. Entertaining video too ❤
Thanks for this. I just joined my work's "Just for Fun" league (that's literally what the league is called). This is the first ever league I joined. Before this, I used to bowl just recreationally with a friend maybe once a month or once every 2 months before COVID. Went to my local pro shop today to purchase a ball. The guy was very helpful. I decided on the Brunswick Twist in Blue and Black, 14 pounds, but he didn't have it in stock, so he ordered it. He told me to stop by and see if it's in by the time our league meets again next week (Wednesday night the 15th, I ordered it today, Saturday the 11th). If it isn't, I'll stop in next weekend to get measured, have it drilled, and use my practice games (I get 2 free practice games a week as a league member at my center) to get a feel for it. He did give me a 5% discount for being a league member, which I appreciate. As the name of the league states, this is mainly a league that's just for fun, although there is some competitiveness among the teams, but the main goal (as I feel the case should be with any sport) is just to have fun, which I can say our league does. Helps relieve some of the stress of work.
Correction; the ball I got is Blue and silver, not Blue and Black. It is the Brunswick Twist; a good entry level ball. Bowled with it today during league and scored 78, 129, 79 (I'm still not sure how I ended up with a 129 the second game). May take a few weeks to get used to it. Did a conventional grip, but feels a bit snug, but it may be because I was used to house balls.
Gary knows what hes talking about knows his bowling for sure I just got my thumb plugged the guy in the pro shop was cool and knows what he’s doing can’t wait to receive it on Monday for league night
I wish I had this experience going to buy my first ball. My guy was the owner but such a douchebag and wasn’t even trying to make a sale. Immediately left the shop and went to throw with the house balls. Had all intention of buying one, he lost the sale.
Cool your first bowling ball Kaylee about storm tropical surge purple do you still have that bowling ball Kylee have you have you gotten better at bowling now in 2023 ever since you gotten your first low hook bowling ball 2 years ago
Some people just take a larger final step, whatever helps get your leg out of the way and feels natural. The purpose of swinging your leg around is to allow you a chance to release the ball as close to your ankle as possible. It makes for a better, more controlled shot.
Great video! I just bought a used ball to use while I'm recovering from an non-bowling finger injury. This video not only gave me some info about my "new" used ball but also great info for caring for my other balls.
