I can think of another sport where people might rent "shoes", ice skating. But that's only something people do during the winter a few times. But yes otherwise you're right.

I really recommend Dexter bowling shoes me and my wife were Dexter’s bowling shoes And we love them and I recommend them to everybody especially with the Bow system

We agree, Dexter shoes are amazing. We had to stop short of a full endorsement for legal reasons.
