Cub Pilot by Day, Airbus Captain by night, Tailwheel Instructor on Weekends. This Channel will be a mix of Aviation Stuff, mostly Cub flying with some airline stuff mixed in. I take my love of photography/videography and try to use it to educate, inform and entertain 👍🏼

Wow. I just now saw this video and my first thought is that he is a reckless father taking this young daughter out in that device. Too much risk involved, I don’t like it.
you need higher speed on wheel landings, that,s why you use it for crosswinds....and needs longer runway( technically, i know your yellow bird has shirt rolls either way...) while the 3 point is the slowest speed landing possible, wehn done right... i saw a 3 point touch down of an officer at our army in 1989, in his oersonal Saab Sphire...this was a domoketely other technique, her dlipped it over in a snap roll over ground to destroy all speed and sat it down without any roll out on all 3;...dunno how his blood vessels made that , but the bird was one of thise 2 ir three back then built for suhx stuff...🤔
nicely explained, ...and when you float...kill the throttle down to low rpm! 🤣many forget that and kill their vintage plane in the hedges! the trick is,.,you are in ground effect on high AoA, and mush down...when your bud can donthta, and as Lift is about 2 times higher...it should work...normally....just take diwn engine power at the end...or it will never end to float!
Unfazed by what I would think would be an amazing experience; No change in demeanor from the couch to front seat of an open flying machine coming in for a landing; She has seen plenty of landings or Her hero is Marcus Aurelius ...either way, The Stepford Wives are a bit rattled by the lack of emotion from the girl; But they loved her; Made her an honorary Stepford Kid
What an experience! Congrats, you have a beautiful family, and obviously, I know why these pretty little girl is called Amelia! Mrs. Einhardt would be proud!
You can thank Gordon Baxter for making the cub famous during the 1970s with his well written articles in aviation magazines! Ever since then Cubs have been in demand!
Excellent video, Joe- could not have come at a better time for me! I’ve been trying to work on my confidence in a crosswind with the J3. I still get pretty antsy if it’s over 5kts 😅 Thanks for this!
The “you’re an airplane owner so it doesn’t matter” is the dumbest statement ever. We are only watching the video because the prices DO matter and people are trying to figure out what they can afford. If it’s too high then a guy might just not buy one. But they won’t know what the cost is unless someone tells them.
you say $8 gallon is expensive and here I am wishing I had fuel that cheap... where I am in canada I have to buy it a drum at a time, and the price to buy it local 2 weeks ago was $875 which is $15.90 a gallon! getting to the point I wish I did have a 65HP J3 instead of a 150HP PA12 haha
