Besides another excellent viseo, i have a question regarding the Regal 38 Grand Coupe. I am hearing about spindle issues with the volvo 380s, and wanted to know your thoughts or opinion on this rumor.
They fixed the problem a few years ago. It's the coupler that was a problem. If the motors are not perfectly aligned, it will ruin the coupler. They changed the couple design to help this.
Seeing that I am gonna buy a 38 Grand coupe, I appreciate these videos more than ever. You are a wealth of knowledge. Maybe do a video with a top list of the most repeat issues you have to look at with the 36 and 38 coupes / xo
Hey Justin, great video. I'd definitely would change the RCA cables because of the elements. A clean connection would help. The humming feedback could be caused by a bad ground or grounding on either component.
About to sign on a new 24 Sundancer 320. Glad you like it, makes me feel better about the purchase! Mine will have the new twin 400's any advice on those?
When you attach the yellow to the red wire, bypassing the memory, do u lose your presets and Bluetooth connection when you turn off the battery switch? I have that problem in my 20 yo boat and it is a nuisance to reset each time I go out.
Hey i wanted to ask What part number for the seal kit did you use for the end caps on those cylinders? Are those the EC5310 cylinders ? Thanks and great Videos.
I always see this issue on the pumps when they are placed in the bilge of the boat. Some manufacturers are now placing them further forward of the bilge to prevent this problem.
Thanks - looks like I'll have to take entire panel off and super glue those studs back on the radio and panel - looks like "hours" to get it all back together !
How can these props rust that much? I thought they were CNC-ed out of solid stainless 316? One would almost think that there is something in that lower part which is of a higher quality!
Hi Justin, I'm the guy that always had Optimus questions for you. I was able to learn alot from your previous videos. That sensor cable at 6:30 can develop corrosion on the pins so it should be disconnected, inspected, cleaned and re-lubed annually, in my opinion. I had that issue and alot of other owners do as well.
My brother, thank you very much for this distinguished and righteous work that you are presenting. Thank you very much. You have presented something that you will be shown mercy for on the Day of Resurrection with a righteous deed that will admit you to Paradise by my Lord.
Thanks for your video. There is very little advice on the internet pointing to spark plugs as a likely source of such issues. Based on my experience...by coincidence.. only last week.. I think your spark plug advice is probably relevant for all outboards. My boat tender has a Honda BF20 (3 years old and with original plugs by coincidence) and while on plane it suddenly started running rough. Most advice points to fuel issues, so checked fuel filter and replaced the fuel in case it was bad. No change. Pulled the two spark plugs which looked fine with good colour, no build up and no corrosion, and put them back in . Next step was to clean carburetor (no EFI on this engine!) which also made no difference. At this point I though I was looking at a bad fuel pump or worse, but thought I would try replacing the plugs. To my absolute surprise....problem solved! I only wish I had seen your video a week earlier :) Thanks!
You clearly are a wonderful Mercury tech. I have twin 300 verados on my amazing 2022 Axopar 37 cross cabin. One engine heats up to 170 degrees at idle but then cools right down once I’m underway. Impeller and thermostat changed but same symptoms. Could this be a sticky poppet valve? Or may be the water pump? Thoughts?
