BEST SCRAPS CHANNEL AROUND I’m still the same Scrapping is the life of poverty Get used to it Taking other peoples trash is the worlds second oldest profession next to prostitution😳😮🚗
years ago I was scraping with a friend and we found a 17 x 20 tank and he had a old railroad truck with a hibie hoist on it we just cleared under the wires to get to the scrap yard
That really sounds like some sketchy shit Good way to make some money Lucky me most of our utilities are buried underground Except in the bad neighborhoods Right where the junkyard is located Shocking surprising
@danohstoolbox yeah I would claim that too very lucky fortunately for me nobody was at the yard except for the cashier Lady and I just tied it to the excavator and let it fly off the bed One and done Just like you most of the yards want them cut up now. Probably because that really huge accident in Canada How much liability Do we really want to take on
G day Marty We have a neighbour that did still pay 3.00. But the tank friend of mine aid Triple M won't take tanks with hole anymore, atank blew up here Toronto & they were sued 1,000,000. they hve to be cut in 2. Ths
I've stopped with pallets. They dropped from $3 a pallet to .50 and I get a ton of them. I've started burning them I'm not driving 20 miles for .50 a pallet yewww #happyscrapping
Makes me curious what that large steel tank weighed. Looks like a decent chunk of steel. Last I heard yesterday, shred steel is $250 a ton. I took in my hoard of aluminum. 627 pounds and it's $.63 a pound, which made for $395.01. I have plenty more steel once I get some junk trucks taken apart
@OBS_Ford_Diesels_Inc i’ll never understand your prices are so much higher than my area one junkyard Lamont is paying 150 out of a small junkyard is paying 160 a slightly larger junkyard is paying 170 and the automobile scrapyard is paying 180 Tank weighed about 2400 pounds
Most I can get for aluminum in my area is $.45 per pound She and cast some yards separate the different grades and pay very little for the lower grades and pay $.65 for extrusion The amount I get it’s not worth separating so I take it to the yard that pays for sheet in cast
@steelisthemeal the yard I go to used to give extrusion price for extruded aluminum but I don't know if they still do. Pretty sure that changed. They do however give separate price for aluminum car and truck wheels, that's always much higher price. 2400 pounds? That thing was pretty heavy! I figured it would be but I thought it'd be around 1500. But with scrap more is always better. I don't understand why the prices of scrap are so different here, I'm only like 130 miles from Joliet. I know that because a truck I bought a few months ago came from there
There is no place near me that pays for pallets. I have a huge stack in the back 40 we use for bonfires. I agree FJB. Long live the poverty. Good to see you king
Looks like it needs a new pitman arm on the power steering gear box. At least you can get it done. Only thing that might make it difficult to remove is needing a heavy duty puller.
Those lights look worth taking apart to me. Plenty of good aluminum and copper transformers. Just gotta crack them and recover the copper. With copper so high in price I'd take it in personally, who knows how long it'll stay this good.
G day Marty I would get a sore back lifting them things, a fair dollar Yea economy is slower, but this is the way it should be, people would live according. House here in country went close to 1,400,000. for average house, real estate is still going up.! Ths
Is it the compound you were talking about that might go away King? Any drive up storage units in the area for cheap? Not really many around here in Houston that are inexpensive any more, although sometimes you can find enclosed RV stalls with gravel floors for pretty cheap. It's a pain dragging scrap through gravel though.
I used to have two storage locker & the company has blacktop …. anything just the slightest bit dirty or dusty shows up horribly on the blacktop surface They biched about it for the entire 7 years I was there Also your stuff is prone to theft breakins Houston jeez that place is growing like crazy it’s so hot there in the summer 110 degrees & 100% humidity with a 11 up index I’d wanna stay outta the sun from 10 until 4 o’clock This area is growing like crazy too not sure when I’m going to do probably end up just going out of business completely and entirely Storage lockers are about $290 per month here & they don’t want you working on Scrap No electricity Illinois the property is expensive & high taxes If you move out to the countryside know you’re far away from any kind of scrap that you might be able to find and any kind of halfway decent junkyards to bring it to $4.50 a gallon gasoline making it impossible to make a profit If you live out in the countryside Nothing is forever
@danohstoolbox Lotts of foreign investors buying buildings & land drives the prices higher Trudeau kind of put a stop to that in Canada foreigners including Americans can’t buy property and or at least residential property and fix it up and flip it anymore A house like mine is $1.5 million ca in the Toronto area. I don’t see how people are able to afford I’m probably gonna end up needing to move at least 30 minutes away from where I’m at and when I moved here it was not so built up now it’s not any different than a Chicago suburb
@steelisthemeal hear in my area there is no middle class anymore and they are building for new honda employees where I am and packing them in like sardines and they are big houses so you know what that means they seem to building to sute new comers and I don't think a million would cover the cost of them the brick work I have seen so far has been sub par
Those cubs are so much of a headache, the valve cover on the front of the motor "v" shaped cover always loses the bottom bolts and they piss oil like crazy, I've had 3 of them and everyone of them had oil issues yewwww #happyscrapping
I’ve had that happen many times before where somebody that previously owned something was completely wrong about what was wrong with it Usually turns out to be something much more minor
If I were in your shoes I'd fill up oil, scrounge a battery and fire it up. Worse case scenario it's $50 in scrap or so or double as a parts machine if you wanna muck around with resale @@steelisthemeal
Ordinarily I suppose it would be Although not in my current situation It would be like vacuuming the carpet in the titanic right after it struck the iceberg
