Nana Hemaa, point of correction. Jukwa land does not belong to Denkyira. The land belongs to Assin Kushea. Some of the Assin Kushea people were living in Jukwa in 1697, before the Denkyira people came after Asante defeated them in late 1701. This is a Quote from Some Oral Traditions of Denkyira book : “Kwadwo Tibo and the rest reached the present town of Jukwa, lower down the same river Botro on which Odumase stands. There they encountered some people known to them as the Abiradzi family under a leader whose name is given as Tueni Kodee. They say that these people were Fantis and that they came from Assin Kushia. After Kwadwo Tibo had visited Cape Coast and had rejected an unsuitable site for settlement which was offered to him by the European authorities near the town, the Denkyiras accepted the site at Jukwa from the Abirazis’s of Assin Kushia.”
How come Tafo is Denkyera. Is it because Tafo is Agona clan? Kumasi Tafo is Agona clan, but not Denkyera. Although they hail from one ancestry. He got the name Tutu from Tutu in the Akwaupim. Apparently his mother went to a shrine over there so she could bear a child. So Tutu was added to his name as a sign of appreciation. Remember the Ashantis always remember!
Becoming Hemaa at age 23 doesn’t make you scholar of your history. Some of what she’s saying are not correct. She doesn’t know and don’t want to say she doesn’t know. Eg. When Denkyira came to jukwa the land wasn’t a virgin forest but rather Assin Kushea people were occupying there. It was kushea people who offered Denkyira land to stay with them because the founding fathers of Assin Kushea, their mother was from Denkyira and their father is from Akwamu. So kushea people saw Denkyira as their relatives due to maternal relationship. Why kushea people came to settle there is a hidden history that only few old historians know about and the true descendant of founding fathers of kushea. Many don’t talk about that because it will raise another question why kushea people came to stay there and they can’t get the missing link right to explain.

He forgot that Denkyira came to meet Adanse kingdom and Adansi king gave Denkyira people a place to stay before the Denkyira defeated them. The truth is that Okomfo Anokye was not from Agona clan but rather from the Asenie clan.
He is a liar, Ntim Gyakari even requested for the Golden stool before the war. If it is not lies, why should it be that the same Holden stool, Denkyira is saying it belongs to them, Gyaaman people also says it belongs to them, people also say it was stolen from Techiman. It’s a shame he’s not allowed to disclose details of the doctrines. But it speaks to the very reasons our rich history is lost. He undoubtedly sounds very knowledgeable and there are clear fragments of the insights he shares that can be corroborated by the known and documented creation stories. Would’ve been great if there was a way to reveal as much as possible and figure out a way to guard against penetrators and attacks and to have a committed analytics team that would comprehensively document all he speaks about: sharing these tribe lines and rulerships and not conceal our roots under wraps! Also, it’s quite admirable that blacks in the diaspora are sharing knowledge of various researches. However, I believe as close as we are to “the Source”, we are in the best position to share this heritage with the world and we should step up to the challenge!
