the only reason for me right now to study ACE is GreenMag mod it is actually incredible that a milsim game doesn't have mag repack functionality out of the box how's that even possible? yet anyway, great material, man, thanx a lot for this tutorial - at least i'm starting to get somewhere with this ACE monstrosity
Not sure if you can play Arma 3 without Steam. But if you can, it should be easy enough to make sure ACE is enabled in your mods and play it to your hearts content.
Rich, how do u set the respawns in such a way that they spawn directly into their characters at mission start and the respawn timer not to apply then but only if they respawn the second time?
nah dawg this should way more views whole series should be getting more views....I'm new to editor and these 4/2hr vids were exactly the type of fucking Arma tuition classes I need...tysm for this
So I’m trying to make a mission, and I’m trying to place some map markers in Eden Editor, but I want to make specific markers only visible to certain sides. How do I do that?
Apolgies for the delay. I've never tried this but thanks to the incredible Arma community found this; _shortenedSideThings = ["_B","_O","_I","_C"]; _things = [west, east, resistance, civilian]; { _x setMarkerAlphaLocal 0 } count (allMapMarkers select { private _marker = _x; !(_shortenedSideThings select {_marker find toLower _x != -1} isEqualTo []) && { _x find toLower (_shortenedSideThings select (_things find playerSide)) == -1 } }); It needs to be called from a sqf. You can find it here - www.reddit.com/r/armadev/comments/4c2fi1/hide_editor_placed_markers_for_side/ Good luck!
Im sorry for asking this but basically i don't understand what 1AA films is?!!! The things that they are guiding, do they even exist in the game...or is it some kind of tutorial for certain mod. What is 1st air assualt? Is this thing a game team name or something else? Im a newbie
Great questions! 1st Air Assault was originally an Arma 3 group which was decommissioned last year. However, a lot of players enjoyed our training and tutorial videos, so the channel was renamed to 1AA Films to allow the videos to continue to be viewed, even though the group wasn't around anymore:)
Great video, however there is a small error you made. You have longitude and latitude switched in the grid coordinates section 05:05. Longitude is the vertical lines while latitude is the horizontal lines. the finding of the grid coordinates part is correct though.
i can orbit the moon and rescue people in space but i cant land a plane... any chance arma gets space stuff like kerbal in it? imagine space force battles like that.. on other planets.. but its a real simulator not an arcady game.. these two games should combine forces.. arma and kerbal.. its amazing.. what do space battles even look like? officially theyve never even happened right or was moonraker a true story? i mean there are a lot of things private militaries have done that i dont know about.. the only reason i know about them is mgsv. so i assume all kinds of things have happened in space...
The narrator was born in England, moved the US, moved back to the UK to complete high school and college, then moved back to the US where he has lived for the last 30-odd years. The narrator wants an apology because you made him feel self-conscious about the way he speaks.🤪 Thanks for watching so closely though!
If a unit is unconscious try screaming at him to wake up then kick him in the head if that doesn't work then try shooting him in the foot if all that fails then he's probably dead
By default, Arma shows the six-digit grid. ACE being a realism mod switches the map coordinates off. To switch them back on got Addon Options>ACE Map and click the Show Cursor Coordinates option. If playing on a server, this option needs to be set at the server level as well! Hope this answers your question!
I am going through the campaign with this mod and either the accuracy or the bullet damage is way off because I can put like 8 to 10 rounds into an enemy and sometimes that will kill them sometimes it takes less.. I know I am not that terrible of a shot, is this a settings issue or a glitch? Is it normal when running the mod??
Great question. Basically a few people were carrying most of the work and they couldn't keep up the efforts. It became as nearly as many hours as a paying job:)
Here's Jebus on the workshop steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=831443018&searchtext=jebus And the creators Github -github.com/DreadPirateAU/JEBUS I'm going to do more tutorials (shorter) and will make sure to include all files, including the mission itself!
@@1AAFilms Thank you!! im just now getting into mission making. I have some great ideas as ive heard a lot of cool stories from some very interesting people.
I'm just getting into Arma 3 and have joined a group. I had no idea where to really start but came across your videos and WOW they are so well made. Thank you so much for these, they are helping me catch up to speed big time; i.e., learning what the Hell TFAR is and how to use it
love the video! little tip for @41:00the car placement. 1.) creat new folder 2.) make sure you are in said folder when placing the cars/object. 3.) when you are done placing , hold shift+click the first car , down the list to the bottom car. 4.) right click, attributes and select such settings. * can even add more object into folder and then click then all again and repeat steps 3&4. which he basically does at 50:00
Hey Rich, first i'd like to say this series videos have helped me wrestle the script monster that is arma 3 successfully and for that I am very grateful. Anyway maybe your arma science can help me one more time! I had hopes this video would help me but this is above and beyond what I am after. Interestingly enough this particular topic doesn't seem to have been answered when I searched online. Anyway here it is: I am working on an MP mission where I as a gamemaster want via a trigger to teleport once specific groups of players (that are already connected on the server) to specific AI piloted planes. Until that trigger is fired those planes are under the hide module but once its fired the planes are activated via the show module. Just like you I think a fade to black while the teleport happens would be an elegant way to get rid of any lag or jerkiness. variable names for groups of player is group1, group2, group3 variable names for players p1, p2 etc... variable names for planes plane1, plane2 group1 to be teleported in plane1 I tried an init line group1 MoveInCargo plane1 in the init but I feel that might not function in MP. How would you go around to do it? If you know of course :-)
I can see this one causing a lot of problems:) I'm not a whiz at scripts but I would use the trigger to call a SQF file with the moveincargo commands in there. Create a SQF with the lines p1 moveInCargo plane1; p2 moveInCargo plane1; And so on. Make sure the trigger is server only. In triggers onact field put nul = execVM "movetoplane.sqf"; (or whatever you call it.) This may work (but its arma) and there could be an issue with JIP players. Let me know if that works!
Yes, you absolutely can. I switched over to Get in nearest because get in seem bugged to me. As with anything, it's all about habits, and I switched over to get in nearest some time ago, so the get in may be way better now :). You can place the get in nearest waypoint right on top of the vehicle and it 'sticks' to it. As with everything in arma mission making, its about preference:)
Are those missions you made still available/playable somewhere? I am honestly somewhat lost, every time I start looking I just find the info that the group has been decommissioned. Having a hold of the mission would allow the community to keep playing them?
