Jerry Reed wrote one of the BEST rockabilly boppers ever! "Crazy Legs". Go have a listen to Gene Vincent doing his song ( Jack Neal' bass thumping is beyond this world - it's holy ). It smokes and its a fire and will always burn. Jerry was such a great guitar player - how can/could this fact be overlooked? Why is BB King or Eric Caption considered better? Even Page or Beck would shit they're knickers trying to keep up with Jerry.
Campbell was so gifted. You can hear it in the quality and range of his voice. It's WAY up there. too. He was the total package performer. He and Reed harmonized beautifully, and you can tell Reed enjoys the challenge of doing it with Campbell.
I saw her in a biography piece. She talked about being so poor, she would store her dairy products in a cold stream not far from her house. Her baby daughter was just trying to walk. She said she would put a heavy piece of furniture on the corner of her dress to give her time enough to run to the spring to get some food. My folks used to pick cotton. They lived through the dust bowl and the great depression. Folks like Tammy were tough.
Disciplining your child is child abuse? I mean you gotta remember this was the 50s, lets remember how everyone way back then. Hitting kids was normal and the kids concidered it normal aswell. Look at what she said, it made her apriciate what she has now. Calling everything child abuse wont get you anywhere. She turned out mighty fine. I was hit as a child and i can tell you it makes you be cotious in situations. Especially as a man, you always gotza be cotious arround others regardless of their gender. Most people go thru life consequence free and hitting em as chilldren teaches them taht their actiond have consequences.
Man Faron Young what a great voice he had..and to be accompanied by one of the worlds greatest guitar players…..and all while fishing, it don’t get no better than that 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
When I lived in Golden Ms. I only lived a few miles from Treemont Ms where Tammy was from. They made a museum out of the house she grew up in. Now you gotta understand this is in a dry country. So when her and George Jones would come to visit ol' George would spend most of his time drinking with some of the local bootleggers. The stories those guys would tell about George would have you rolling on the floor. God Bless Tammy and George for not only their music but the joy they brought to this world.
Cher and tammy had a lot in common. They were both entertainers, both born in may, both married to famous men and both couples sang together. Also, like tammy said, they both divorced in 1975.
What a great interview, what class, her reason for comparison with Cher. lmao, Tammy had it all, Jerry Reed's crypt is right near Tammy's . tell me them to ,or not laughing it up, in heaven.
Such awesome musicianship! And you could watch music of that quality every week on the Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour! I miss Glen and Jerry and many of the other awesome pickers who have left us.
