If the Selection of the card was kept confidential between P&T, this wouldn't have worked.. Nothing surprising about the trick.. and like others participants they didn't even bother to inspect the clay box because it was in their hands or they just had already planned to hand the trophy to them.. Magician was not free and has weird posture..
I'll take a guess. There are 52 cards arranged inside the Lego bricks, that can be accessed from the inside. He takes out the card carefully, slides it into the box from a slot on the side and then seals the clay on that side. Does this seem plausible? Would require almost perfect sleight of hand, to take out a folded card from Lego bricks, without making the whole structure move a lot. 40 cards can be arranged sequentially by suit in different directions inside the box, so not much memory required there.
His hand was in the lego box from the beginning till Penn breaks the box. I'm guessing there are cards in the lego box (might be in the table) and a way to insert the card in the small box.
Lame trick, he had both hands in the block and access to cards in there that he hid away, no matter the card they chose he would have just put it in the box, so obvious how this is done, I dont know how Penn and Teller got fooled by it
You just can't help loving Jandro, his energy, his stage presence, it's just marvelous to watch. Also the imaginative use of Lego, the way he just madly throws the bricks into the buckets... I wish I knew how this trick works, it might be possible to have various layers with different cards, but with Lego that might give you like 2, maybe 3 different cards before the layers become too thick to give away the trick.
at 3:11 he grabs a pre-made lego "card" from the box as he's grabbing the tubs of Legos. He affixes it to the back of the panel at 5:10 as he and Penn spin it around.
I'm not saying he's an actual wizard toying with Penn and Teller but I am saying that this is exactly what I think it would look like if an actual wizard were toying with Penn and Teller.
Penn going "You'll let me do this?" is him essentially saying "If you're not the one to open this block and box now, how are you going to put the correct card in there?". He even told him "Don't help me too much" as if to say, "If you don't touch the box now, I don't have the slightest clue how you did it". I'm raking my brain how this could be done and the only potentially viable way would be to have a blank card inside the box and the thing that we think is the "pipi alarm" is actually some sort of tiny printer... but I have a hunch that such a kind of mechanical/technological trickery wouldn't be allowed on the show. So yeah, if that's not the case, my second best guess is that actual magic was involved.
Penn's reaction of "oh, you're going to let me open this?" seemed genuinely incredulous. I have no clue -- could there be a tiny printer in there? I love this trick, I can't figure it out either. The "alarm" is the excuse for having some electronics in there? But the face of the card looked too real to have been printed right then and there and it would have made noise. There seems to not be enough room to hide a full deck of card and... the machine that could pull one specific card out? Okay, rewatching, there is an opening in the block of clay, on the side facing Teller when it comes out. There must be a gap in the box sufficient to slide the card in, I don't think he could build the clay around the box... hm, or maybe. Okay, final speculation: The clay was not sealed on one side. Neither was the box. Slid the selected card in (not sure which move he used to get rid of the rest of them), then sealed the box by squeezing it, sealed the clay by hand. The card looked liked it has been slightly mangled. The alarm is just a distraction. I'm pretty sure I'm wrong, but that's my analysis: Full deck of cards inside the lego box, clay open on one side, the wooden box possibly open. Selected card gets slid in, squeeze the box shut, seal the clay. [EDIT]: In any case, that was a great trick and a great performance. Very entertaining and certainly made me curious.
Easy and brilliant. He held a 52 card deck in his hidden hand and masterfully counted through the deck stopping on the card. The box had a loose top.. slips card inside, pinches open end of clay box shut. Two things give this away… one side of the clay was closed, and the card was bent in the box meaning it was bent while sliding it in. Great illusion.
Great show and genious! This is of course not a card trick but a mentalist trick. This guy actually buys himself with his story over a minute time to do on the middle of the stage with his left hand, what he wants -- without any one getting suspicious! Simply genious!!! Fully deserved the prize.
My guess is that he has some sort of buttons at the back of the canvas, on the right side behing the card, because he covers it with his hand when showing the backside of it. He only has to do 5 numbers and 4 suits. I believe the trick is done right at the time of reveal, when hes opening it with the screwdriver while pressing something behind it. The suit color could be done using those thin lego pieces, covering the sides with white.
Why did jandro look so surprised that the card matched. It's almost as if he genuinely didn't kno if the card was there. Makes me wonder if he took a 1/52 chance fr😂
Hmmm, hand hidden from view, deck of cards inside (in order), he counts down to selected card, slips it into small (almost invisible) slot on box, reseals clay and smooths over, puts remaining deck on a clamp and pre-stretched elastic pulls it up his sleeve. I dunno, this one seems easier to solve than most
