If you like Corvette and muscle cars, then I have a few videos for you to see. I have a 1969 Corvette Convertible, 1969 Corvette Coupe, 1969 Chevelle, 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 and a 1973 Camaro Z28 RS
Thanks for sharing. I own and ride both bikes. Totally agree that the 500 is easier and very fun ride on short distance with very little side wind. How ever for longer 2 to 3 hour rides and 10 to 12 mph wind the 700 or 750 is a much better choice. Let us know if you have any tips to mitigate these issues with the 500. Also, both run hot in stop and go traffic after rides of 1 hour are more in summer months.
100% agree, the 750 is much better for the long rides. And the 500 for the short rides. Funny you have both also : ) Running hot, the first that comes into my mind (thinking about my cars), are ignition or bad cooling system.
It seems Mr. Sizemore is no more. He was shot and killed by Lebanon Tennessee police on July 21 2023. I will see if I can post a link to the police body cam video. I think Mr. Sizemore killed a lady on the porch just prior to police firing at Sizemore. Rest in peace to the lady victim. Many blessings all. 👽🐍 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JNTNfXV8_zA.htmlsi=zTG1JSwdo3U25kLr
RIP Thomas, you did many bad things in your life. But I hope you have come to pace now, and I hope you will be forgiven, for the pain you have done for so many. www.wsmv.com/2023/07/24/bodycam-video-officers-shot-suspect-he-fatally-shot-woman-lebanon-police-reveal/
@@c3dk You must be Christian to forgive Mr. Sizemore. I too hope him to rest in peace. I am sorry for your loss to him though! Again, many blessings. 👽🐍
@@c3dk because they know they can get away with it. I havent had a good experience with an engine builder or machine shop in over 20 years. Im done hot rodding as a result. I run my business ethically and honestly. I would be in jail if i conducted my business like others do.
The stance looks fantastic! Yes, you have way too much positive camber (wheels leaning out at the top). You start by adding shims to the rear only, all that will fit as you want the camber to be a little negative but that will also give you more castor and you really want that. With the stock arms, you can only really get just barely negative camber with a degree or two of castor. The camber curve on these cars from the factory is really bad. Tall ball joints go a long way to fix that.
Hi Matt, thanks for checking in. Perfect, I will add shims to the rear only. In the passenger side, it looks better, and I can see more shims in that side, compared to the driver side, I will say, also the double amount, as far as I rememeber. Thanks for the info regarding camber/castor, I'm looking forward playing with that, in the future :- ) Thanks, John
Yes this part of Greece is really amazing for sure, but no Opel to look at, when I come back in May-24 :- ( And yes, I agree with you "see, there goes that crazy Dane again, taking picture, let's hide the car, before he steal it" :- )) BTW Matt, I really love your my workshop, it looks so good, I'm sure will will enjoy it, for a long time. Have a great weekend in TX.
You have done a fantastic job restoring those seats, over lay foam on the entire surface and bolsters, foam collapses and after all these years you’ll be adding back it’s integrity. And fitment will be tight and firm. Great Job!
Hi Bill, Thanks :- ) It's been fun to make, and yes that driver side foam was bad, so I did everything I could to make it strong again. Hell I almost used 1L of glue :- ) Foam and burlap just eat glue, I was looking for a ½L can, but could not find it, that was good, or I would have run out :- ) Making upholstery, and repair the foam, has taken some time. BR, John
They are a bit hard to find here, because "everybody" want's one, that is small, and not made in China. I don't know if the cheap China are any good, but a small made in EU, Japan or USA in my mind, is the best.
Nice job on the interior. That back seat really turned out nice! How do you like the LED lights on the 4 post lift? I was thinking of doing that but thought they might blind me out.
Some in the workshop are saying the same as you, do they blind you? My reply is, no not me, but I don’t stand and look direct down in them, if you do that, you will get blinded. There are some cases, where I turn them of, bit in most cases, they are perfect for me. And the cost of buying them, are low.
Yes, and it is super strong material for sure. I will add ½" padding under the carpet. I hope everything is ok in NY, spring is soon here, so we can go driving again :- )
Think this guy Tony was legit at one time, but drugs got to this guy, apparently the 4k went straight to his head, probably the reason why he is no longer posting, outside said arrest...? If I would have known you were willing to pay 4K for a set of heads I would have sent you to David Visard...
Hi, I think you are right, drugs or alcohol got to him. and I'm sure, like you think, he was good at some point in his lift. I fell sorry for him. The 4k was for 2 set of heads (4 heads). Looking back, I should have bought AFR.
Hi, I will ask around here, but the $ is very high, so many don't buy anything in USA right now, many are only buying what they really need. They postpone until it is "normal" again......
@@rustedhorsepower5132 Texas, as I hear it, it's either cold or hot. We got snow today, but it's gone now, it's almost like spring here......I like that :- )
Great job! Have fun with the wiring, I purchased a Painless Wiring harness for my K5. I installed a Painless kit in a 74 F100 and it was….challenging. Mostly because it was a universal kit, not a direct replacement. Keep up the good work!
Hi Blue, nice to see you back working on cars :-) I will buy direct fit, I did that for both in the front, and I will do the same for dash harness. The harness for the rear is ok (I think:- ))
The car and the parts that came with the car, are left over parts from other Chevelles, or other cars for sure. The column is 28", and does have the factory color.
@@c3dk i can say that 69 chevelles share similar parts with trucks. Like their steering gear box, their windshield wiper motors. Their turn signal switches are very universal also, plug and play all the way up to early or late 90s (camaro and impala, maybe even trucks). The bulkhead connector to my knowledge is this same way also. But once you drop to 1968 , everythong changes.
🎉 never look back. Your well on your way. You’ll know if the harness is correct under the dash by checking the connection at the fire wall. Under the power booster. Install harness before column and booster install. Much ease that way. Have fun and Happy New Years
@@c3dk Yessir!! That seems to always be part of the deal, especially if you want a really nice ride. However, I would rather have a super nice classic car than a new one of the same price.
Thanks for the update! That is the correct length for the steering column so you are good there. I would use it. What instrument gauge package are you going to use? The long sweep regular one or the round gauge Sport Dash one? The wiring is a little different for each. What shifter are you going to use? The stock one mounts to the crossmember and does not work that great as the linkage get twisted some on acceleration, that's why most people converted to the Hurst shifter as it mounted on the rear of the Muncie tailshaft. Sorry your having trouble getting parts correctly, I think everybody is having this problem these days...Lol on that photo you found, That could actually be from the 70's even. I'm enjoying the videos, keep them coming!
Hi, I'm going for the factory gauge setup, warning lights. I was thinking about going with RPM gauge, but maybe that will come later. I assume the extra wires, are easy to install, if I decide to go down that road. From the factory the car was a 307 auto, ac car, and nothing more, as far as I can see. Then at some point it god a 4 speed transmission (bracket for the Z bar has been welded into the car), and later back again to automatic transmission, and now 4 speed (M21) again :- ) The shifter is a Hurst shifter. Yes it's funny with the picture, if it´s from the 70´s, then the car was almost brand new :- ) Regards, John
@@c3dk Yes the wiring changes are not that bad. IIRC you have to add in a tach wire to the plug and a couple of the other wires move around depending if you are going to gauges or the lights. That's good n the shifter, I used to run one on my Muncie with a center console before I put in a TKO-600. You do need an offset mount for the handle, it does not come strait up but offsets the handle mount to the pass side about an 1" or so. I had to buy one to make mine work.
@@MattOverDrive Regarding the offset, that is the mount @ 1min. 55 sec right? Regarding the wire harness and gauges ec, I have to keep it a bit simpel. My 69Mustang Mach 1 needs new foam and seat cover, and carpet (I have all in stock), and I have to install my T5WC kit I bought for it, 1 year ago. And after, it will need some paint. My 69 Corvette Coupe will also need seat cover and foam (also in stock)+ a lot more, and paint. And I need to get my 73 Z28 RS ready for road inspection in the spring (not a big job) But this winter it's the Chevelle that will get some attention :- )
:- ) The car refuse to give up, and it don't want to drive, it want's to be a sleep, as it has been for many year's. But we do not agree on this, so I continue 😂
It looks like you have a Truck Steering wheel on the column so you might have a truck column. Is it 32" in length? It really does not matter as long as it puts the steering wheel where you like it and the intermediate shaft works. All kinds of columns bolt right into these cars so you are generally just fine.
Hi Matt, I really don't know, I will measure tomorrow, when I'm in the workshop again. Regadring the steering wheel, well just another wish for x-mas now :- )
Your patience is what prevails. Your disappointments are the distance and waiting time for parts. But ultimately at the end of the road your joy will be the rewards of a beautiful Chevy chevelle built by You! I’m always happy to see progress. It’s come such a long way. Stay focused and find that guy that produces welds like that and make sure you never ride in one of his cars. Pure Danger.
:- )) you are correct my friend :- ) It's a fun project, there is so much to do, the car really had a hard life. It's a shame, but it is what it is.....and I knew it was a big project. I'm sure much of this, was made long time ago, where a car like this, was a scarp car. Regarding the weldings, YES, they are really bad. And it funny, because the floors, must have been made by another, the welding are very good, all over. It would be funny, if the car, could tell from the past :- ) Have a great day in US.
