Active since 1987, it was formally established in 2003 and aims to: activate social communication actions to raise awareness of the potential of people with Down syndrome; promote their inclusion in school, work and sport; share experiences between individual associations; identify and implement common strategies with regard to shared policy issues. Every year, CoorDown promotes two important awareness and fundraising events: the Giornata Nazionale delle persone con sindrome di Down (every second Sunday in October) and World Down Syndrome Day (21st March). Today, CoorDown is the official body for discussion with all institutions on the issues and rights of people with Down syndrome.
I have autism, but have a good, professionally licensed job (not saying what because there aren’t so many of us in it being open yet). But I can live on my own, maintain a job even if it isn’t as high powered as I might have expected earlier, and I’m married and have a few friends. People talk down if they know or suspect, and I had some people around me discourage me from drinking or assume I must have a childish interest. Nope. Let’s discuss North Korea over a nice Riesling. I’ve probably forgotten more about it than most people know! So, don’t assume I can’t.
1. Show ID 2. Tell them, prove it 3. Show him, train yourself 4. Your in the same class, so you are learning it anyway Don't blame others, think in solutions
This is an incredibly stupid message. People make assumption because it works, it leads to better outcomes on average. Pointing out that sometimes people make mistakes, and using this as a reason to not make assumption, is simply insane. Because just like there are a few people with Down's syndrome and normal IQ, there are a lot more with very low IQ who can't do those things and would get hurt if people didn't assume.
This was obviously made by someone who doesn't live around a person with Down Syndrome. Extremely dangerous thinking. And it's insane that people with Autism are comparing themselves with this.
Yeah like why do you have to include vulgarity into everything you can just leave it at studies , sports and financial independence Like I don't get people being having no discipline in the matters of alcohol and sex isn't a flex
I WOULDNT SERVE HER A DRINK EAITHER SHES AT THE BAR LOOKING LIKE. 6 year old😂😂😂 what grown woman has the double pony tails and wears that much glitter😂😂😂😂
this goes sooooo hard, give this lead actress a show shes so cool. My uncle has down syndrome and people never encouraged him like this and always assumed. Way to break the stereotype and excellent note for psa and ad makers.
I love this message but it's a little more complicated 🏺. There are societal barriers that must be demolished, if doing something a different way will make it easier for handicapped people than we should change the way it's done 🏺. Thankfully society is heading that way 🏺. I hope that trend continues 🏺🏺🏺🏺🏺
Because they're assuming that the audience can't understand what she's saying, when the whole point of the video is not assuming that somebody can't do something
Beautiful! Especially parents, they use their standards and look down on their unfavourite children and assume they cannot do lots of things and conditioned them and make them believe they can't. Only children with good academy result at schools are their real children.
