I know this was a long time ago but did you pass this board? I noticed you got quite a bit wrong at the start and was wondering as I am worried about getting the answers wrong or forgetting things I know the answer to.
No bro, they stay pretty dry even in the pouring rain. I haven’t seen lakes through a swamp with them but they have gotten pretty wet. They dry off fairly quick as well.
Got my hands clammy and sweaty just watching. I'm a PFC about to go to the soldier of the month board soon. I don't like formaly being put on the spot and critiqued. Let me prove my self doing my job and I'm calm cool and collected.
I’ve never seen something so poorly executed or administered in my life either as Royal Marine or as a Probation service ! If your going to pick up a man for the state of his uniform then at least be in the same rig ! The venue is a disgrace for a promotion board , I wouldn’t follow any of the board members into a brewery giving out free beer!
What a shit board. Mine a 1/67 AR BN in 1998 was all the company 1sg's and the BN CSM. Very professional and grilled you in actual information, not the definition of what a battle is.
Ah, the promotion board... Where an Article 15 you got 15 years ago as a Pvt E2 comes back to bite you in the ass and Army uses it as an excuse to not allow you to reenlist. See that way they can kick you to the curb before Uncle Sugar has to pay off on that 20-year pension. You could be an exceptional soldier, technician, manager, and leader but something a trivial as a counseling statement can trip you up a decade after the fact. I personally knew one guy that was 86'd from the Army after 16 years' service because of an Article 15 he got as a private. Thing is, the board chair was with the guy during the incident and they both got -15s for it.
Essentially a structured caste system by which attaching insignia or adornment to a uniform makes one person better than another... I remember it well..one thousand ninety-five days where every second was an eternity...
When I went to the E6 board almost 20 years ago, all three 1SG’s were playing with a mini basketball and hoop while the president of the board CSM starred dead into my eyes like he was gonna eat my soul. I passed lol. My PSG gave me a heads up the board was going to do dumb things to try to break my character and crumble under pressure. Honestly all the boards I attended were basically the same and all my boards I attended were while I was in the Infantry. Maybe we do things different lol. All except the Audie Murphy board! That board was next level! I didn’t even make it past my leaders book review! Just be confident and look sharp and max your PT scores lol.
