When you consider that probably 90% of the average citizen (including myself) don't know or understand anything to do with the law beyond the most basic and by your own admission is very complicated. These new law "seem" to be designed to either turn every person with a phone or PC into a criminal simply for having an opinion and ignorance of the relevant laws or to quite simply silence them out of fear of said ignorance. When you add to that, comments like your own regarding how it could come down to interpretation (which I would see as a personal point of view.) One is left believing it is the latter. Which makes one question just how safe any of us are, especially as it "seems" to be assumed guilty is guilt based on recent home office posts on X.
I'm so torn about this case. Granted I've only got superficial knowledge about it, i followed trial commentary from the Mall, and listened to other media who attended the trial etc I was a nurse for 25 years, most of that time was not in the NHS but i do know from my short time working for them how they close ranks and shift blame in the face of failings. Maybe i just don't want to believe that a fellow nursing professional could do something like she was found guilty of doing but something has always felt off about it.
I was a solicitor for 20 years and enjoy your videos but I don't know why you promote Dan (Black Belt Barrister) . Your content and his are worlds apart, I don't doubt that on a personal level he's a good egg etc. but he comes across increasingly like a Judge Rinder for the neoliberal right. Whether or not he has a political agenda I don't know but it certainly seems like it. Anyway, please keep up the good work.
There is a difference between free speech and hate speech. The bigots who use hate speech know exactly what they are saying, and know it is bigotry, hatred and intolerance, but then try to justify it by claiming it is free speech and that their rights are being infringed. Wrong. They are infringing the rights of others to freedom from intimidation, discrimination and violence.
Can you do a piece on Lee Anderson’s letter to Yvette Cooper on the prosecutions of over a 1000 people in the riots. Were the cases prejudiced by the statement “these criminals will feel the full force of the law”, while they were arrested, many no doubt had no criminal record, and perhaps some will be found innocent. It would be remarkable if there was 100% prosecution rate. I don’t support violent protest, or even disruptive or threatening protest. Just to be clear, in case this note is reviewed. However this seems to be a problematic situation as previous riots, say in Leeds definitely did not feel the full force of the law, in fact the police withdrew and it seems to be political interference with the legal system. I know the riots have been covered, but this is an interesting point of law. I am in no way affiliated with any political party.
The ministry of defence is aware of these failures which put soldiers and public at risk of harm or death no action taken towards Capt Wilmont but instead promoted him exposing the corruption with the MOD #SafetyFirst #Whistleblower
Extremely interesting, but disturbing. My confidence in the legal system is extremely low. Take Letby out of the equation and you still have a poorly run, poorly performing NHS hospital that caused the deaths of many patients. It seems to be cherry picked statistics. Having run a data analytics business, I’d love to have access to the full data set and I would be very confident that using subsets of data a case could be made against any nurse in the unit. For me this is not an acceptable standard of proof. As for her doodles and notes, this suggests a normal human reaction to feeling guilty of being present when prematurely born babies don’t make it.
Maxwell Fyfe, one of the original framers, said that the encroachment of judicial activism in applying the previously established principles would mean that he'd refuse to sign up to the Convention were it offered.
My main takeaway from this is that, if in court over even a relatively minor matter, it generally pays more to be courteous and forthright with information that would have to be disclosed anyway than to drag your heels on it.
I strongly recommend the viewing of channel 5's report on the Letby conviction and trial, in which there were no expert witnesses for the defence and the reasons why. Kafka comes to mind.
Also apply to the authorities when they define your name in the files to justify their behaviour so nobody listens to you the psychological impact is so bad that I can't trust medical professionals all the police as they glued with each other neither one take responsibility did you say it may be you know morally wrong but you know it's the culture you know and that's all I've ever got for the last 20 years
With a day off from work I listened to this whilst on one of my walks here in Cornwall yesterday and I must say it’s a super way to do things (albeit I do find that I start to talk out loud as if in conversation- clearly with myself and nature 🫣)
These are interesting points of law that are helpful in my unrelated case but she was prosecuted for harming or killing several other babies in which the swipe data was not an issue
How and why are we even having this conversation in our country? I'm so confused and heartbroken about this. So many lives wasted in the world wars fighting for a false freedom for a fake democracy. Freedom and democracy here is just an illusion. Who'd willingly join our armed forces to fight and die for this shit hole of a country that doesn't even carry out the majority vote wants

Two legal secretaries - used to thugs and murderers on a daily basis - were advanced as pawn-complainants. I self-defence. To prevent ANY cross-examination of these Good Ladies, a Section 36 Application seized my defence. Prosecution were guaranteed victory in a "defence" lasting 20 seconds. A constable "lost" evidence, and perjured himself. Easily proven. In other words, a rigged court with the aim of banning me from Plymouth city centre for a period of ten years. / I am looking for assistance to hold ALAN HARRIS SOLICITORS and Plymouth Police accountable. Both parties knew with absolute certainty what ALAN HARRIS had been doing - for years. Police continued to traffick boys and young men to ALAN HARRIS even after arrest in a public loo with a 15 year old boy. /
There is a doctor- I can't remember his name- but the one who was on TV describing his 'VIVID' recollection of the night he caught her trying to murder a baby. He was so convinced that she was trying to murder the baby that he never said anything to anyone and it was so 'VIVID' that he had to keep pausing to remember what to say and- tellingly- looking up to the left as he tried to remember his story. I would like to see an analysis of unexplained baby deaths following his various postings. You're welcome.
Sadly people are drawn by emotion rather than logic. Is this a serious accusation? Are children involved? Yes, then she must be guilty... Psychological tests have shown this time and time again that severity of the accusation is just as powerful as the actual evidence.
The basis for self-expression is impulse. Intent could only be tested and proven from related expressions, actions, etc. A one off comment has to be very specifically explicit to hold up on intent and a malicious impulse.
it should never be legal/lawful to convict a person of any crime on only curcumstantial evidence that cannot be relied upon if there is no actual evidence to prove they did it the law should say that they have to be found"not guilty"..........end of story..............
How come when I asked your opinion on something that happened to me and what your thoughts are you totally ignored me yet you answer other people's questions? I was arrested for doing nothing wrong I was charged with drink driving yet I wasn't even driving at the time I was arrested so how on earth can they arrest me and charge me for doing nothing wrong makes no sense
if the evidence was flawed and incorrect how can not matter if a innocent person has been condemned for something they did'nt do??????it was all curcumstantial not a shred of evidence to prove she'd done it but because it was all babies that died she could'nt be found not guilty she had to go down....what about all the other nurses and doctors at the hospital that looked after the babies when letby was'nt on duty????
