Homeworthy Texas features the most extraordinary homes and interior designers in the state. Each episode highlights the decor, design and decisions that transformed these houses into homes. In addition to showcasing homes in Dallas, Houston, and Austin, we travel to each corner of Texas to celebrate the unique architectural elements to capture the unique places we call home.
That idea of the glass garage doors to enclosed the outdoor porch.. genius!! Imagine sitting out there while it's raining watching a movie, the fireplace on.. dreamy! I LOVE this entire home!!!
I felt that Susie was telling my story (mine being on a much smaller scale) and a connection to her. I bought an old stone bakery/restaurant and its small outbuilding - both condemned at the time - and have been turning the bakery into my home for several years. I finished the small outbuilding in 2018, and it’s my guest house, but the restaurant-to-home process is very much in progress. There was ruckus here, too! I’ll make conditions as she did. Friends said this was a bad investment. The local code office told me there was no way I could do the project, but I could see what I wanted in great detail. When I discovered my ex was having a long-term affair, divorce almost cost me this place, but I’m so grateful that I was able to get him out of it (and my life) legally and financially. He never liked it anyway. Thanks to Susie and Homeworthy for allowing us in. What a beautiful life Susie has created for herself and all within her circle.
Beautiful mid century modern house with a wonderful mix of modern, antiques and eclectic. The double lot is so special in Dallas, where huge homes are on small lots! This designer/ owner is so talented. Love that they made the home beautiful but practical for the family! Your girl’s rooms are so special! So glad that they made Dallas their home. I’m nearby in Arlington. Wish I could take my house down to the studs and have him redesign everything! 😊
He is certainly a one of a kind. The house interior is stunning, filled with a lifetime of treasures and their stories. I’m grateful the videographers showed us something of what it is to be a human being who has and continues to experience life as fully as possible. Certainly arriving at his age… doing all he seemingly says he does comes with assistance by several different people. Just cleaning his beautiful house interiors, the gardens, maintenance etc., comes with many hands helping. His home business etc., also includes the assistance of a team of people. I imagine he is accompanied by a “mayordomo” or a housekeeper. This gentleman is able to enjoy life fully because he is privileged. I hope he realizes this. Thank you for sharing Homeworthy.
If they designed this home them need to leave it to the experts, terrible layout with a dining table and chairs as you enter? Girl what were you thinking
I think it’s her business whichever way the owner decides to put her table, and mantle. Everyone can decorate their home the ways they please and using negative comments doesn’t make a better world. There are so many calamity around the world that when people take their time to share their home decoration, I don’t think it’s fear to downplay the person.( and I’m aware that we are free to express our view, but we must think of the other’s person emotions.)
My layout is like hers and I love it! At my home people always use my back door to Enter anyways! If we all liked the same thing, this world would be a very dull place!
People on this channel graciously open up their homes. I love this channel and hope people continue to open their homes and comments like yours may result in us not getting a chance to tour some very special homes. Lots of homes on this channel are not my taste but I still enjoy hearing about the history.
Lovely home but I didn’t like the mantle up so high with the tiny tv perched on it. It’s up too high and so small. It’s at least a foot or 2 above her head. Not a fan of TVs above fireplaces either. Why is the mantle so high? It makes the fireplace look so tiny.
Outside fireplaces are usually never ground level. Tv is perched hight is also the norm. It's never at eye level outside, plus it can be tilted down if need be. My two sense. God bless.
This is a stunning expanse home. Just by observing it through this len, it feels organically sophisticated. It’s so good to have a handyman to install the things we love in our home. It’s not as simple to puts our collections of items around our homes. It can take time. Her doors with X’s add character to the living room. I can assure that all of her items were in her store and it’s stored. 19:11 with the X are a beautiful
This "house-museum" has a remarkable artistic sensibility. It is like having a voice. It has the owner's personality. It is delirately refined. It fills your soul with joy happiness it inspires sensually. Your eyes cannot get enough of it. It is unique. I was watching the video and it felt like a museum tour. It is UNIQUE
Good video! Love the authentic host who tells things how they are with no fake pretense. Love the house with all the skirted vanities and nice older reupholstered furniture, etc. That antique bedside table in her son's room is TOO Nice for a young boy :) Only 1 odd thing: that plant in the dark corner needs light- no wonder Angela does not do well with plants. Bravo on a lovely house. Chintz rules!
Her home is beautiful and decidedly feminine like her. I always wonder how husbands feel living in an ultra-feminine space. Most men in my life would NOT go for that.
Loved hearing this Gentleman speak of his home and collections . I have a great interest in Design and learn from productions like this . This man would be a great friend to know. Thank you
I just drove by Mary Kay’s mid century modern round house recently to show a friend and admired THIS house which is on the same lake as hers! Glen Lakes is a fabulous area in North Central Dallas and this part features these really neat unusual mansions! They’re not huge, around 5k square feet but very elegant
So many gorgeous monograms! I don’t like seeing a black TV screen either. In my perfect world I’d have Frame TV, but there may be an app that something like that now. 🤞
Wow, what a lovely home! Homeworthy, your background music between scenes is SOO LOUD! The "bull" at 30:44 might say the music is udderly ridiculous ;-)
New homes need to adjust to the times. Home solar energy and battery storage are now more common. Electric vehicles are becoming more popular every year. Every garage should include a 220 volt outlet and electric vehicle charger. Every new home and business should install a rain water collection and storage system along with solar panels. Even in areas where rain is infrequent it is crazy to waste the little rain that does fall and waste it. We need to stop planting green lawns and switch to local native plantings around homes. It is crazy to plant lawns and build golf courses in dry desert areas. We waste too much water and electricity. the future is electric. Wind and solar energy along with electric vehicles are the future. Stop using fossil fuels. There is a climate crisis.
Great home tour! Texas homeowners never fail to Wow us! The creativity and attention to detail here is off the charts! The renovation when they initially bought the house was massive. Everything in this house is special. The vintage vibe is very sophisticated and glamorous! Could not tell kids live there. Nothing was out of place. Will watch again!
