🤣It always snowballs real quick. It takes a special kind of discipline to stick to a budget during a total rebuild. Then when you finally get it running right, you are too afraid to beat on it, because you remember the dollars it took and the sleepless nights. I have been down this road so many times, it's always the same. Well if I remove that, I should upgrade it! Well I can't leave a stock hose connected to that new shiny part. Shit I can't use bolts I need studs etc. Before you know it you have a several cars that were supposed to be daily drivers. It's an addiction, and yes I am an addict too.
There has never been a reliable VQ over 600hp. You can throw all the billet and forged parts you want at it. But it’s still a terrible platform for reliable power. Considering guys are boosting junkyard LS motors that will absolutely destroy you. On stock internals. Stock heads. For $15k cheaper and withstanding years of abuse. It’s comical to see the money poured into this platform, and the terrible results that are insanely predictable.
If this is a labor of love for you and its brings you joy, then you have to stop beating yourself up about how much money you've spent on it. You made some bad judgement calls that have cost you, but I assume you've learned from them and can move forward being a better person from the experience. Shift your perspective and be more optimistic. The blessings are in the journey brother. Yea, you probably could've put a DP on a house with that money, but sometimes there are shortfalls that come with owning a home that are a lot more difficult than what this car has and will put you through. Ultimately, you can have the car and the house; you just have to grind even harder then you are. God bless you brother and be encouraged!!! You're doing a great job; the car is looking really good thus far....
I feel you man, I think I was 20k into my turbo build when I had a boosted g35. Although I had the big single turbo momentum kit which they don’t make anymore either. That was 10k CDN. All the little things like gauges and sensors can really add up!
Bro you over spent on that motor setup you could have done a ls3 and made more power all motor..... and you kept screwing yourself over with buying a used motor with out opening it and buying used turbos and having to spend more.....
It’s cool Eddy, I was in the same situation as you my G35 was basically clapped both transmission, and engine were bad, I got scammed for a bad transmission, and they also broke into my car trashed my interior the headliner was falling off list goes on I also paid for G37 carbon hood and g37 carbon fenders, g37 spec D headlights, q style bumper for g37 and only to not install them and to just junk my car:(
Dang brother why are you building In circles And I don't know why you went with that turbo kit for 5 grand That's crazy... And to be honest that greedy kit will not make 500rwhp And a built VQ That isn't sleeve with let go @500 , When you eventually have to upgrade the turbos to make more power, so don't think you finished with the $Dump
great video brotha, these motors are solid motors, mine has 230,xxx miles the guy i got it from blew the head gaskets he didnt take care of it, they can last for a long time if people take good care of them
honestly brotha that doesnt seem so bad considering how beautiful that car is gives me hope for the future of modding mine then again i assume you saved alot of money doing alot of the work yourself price gouging mechanics and labour is going to be a killer
Man you're g35 is dope as hell! I want build this motor, but I want built a single turbo Vq37vhr wuth automatic transmission that's built too. If you have any suggestions please let me know. I just want like 600 horsepower.
I did the same, got a used greddy twin turbo kit and after 2 and a half years I finished the install with a Link ECU plug and play stand alone ECU and all the supporting mods to get at least 600 hp out of it. This next friday I will got to the tuner and next the dyno to wake the beast.
I know its been a long and expensive journey. But youre almost there! Dont give up. I have a picture of your engine saved for when i do my build soon as inspiration. Btw where do u get those braided hoses? Im trying to get some shipped to the UK for my build
I know how you feel bro I have a turbo G35 coupe 2nd motor with actual 36k miles on it I run low tq I believe it’s 376 tq 425 wheel It’s sitting in my garage In pristine condition miss driving her But just like you said money out the window I only drive Q50 and my 370z now Any car a boost it don’t matter which brand On boost sooner or later they go You just don’t know when Be conservative tune enjoy the whip But the good thing if you’re forged I’m not So mine it’s only on 6 pounds not forged still fun So my advice enjoy it unless you got a fat wallet on don’t mind spending more Enjoy Ruby she’s looking 🔥🔥🔥 Just ordered the aluminum valve covers Came out a little more 50 bucks for black 🤷♂️🤷♂️ Don’t have aluminum no more I’m guessing
Behind all created beauty the mystic sees a witness to the source of eternal beauty - the ruby is the heart of the stone, which has been transformed into a priceless jewel through patience and shedding its blood
Man money comes and goes, common thing to say but its truly a beauty you have. You built it right this time man. You only live once. Amazing build man.
Just purchased a revup motor from A&A motors in Orlando FL for $4,300 smh looked all over the us and even Canada only 1 place had it came with a warranty ect but its a really hard engine to come by these days
