The rods likely went first, hitting 15psi is a sure way to say goodbye to these engines on stock internals. Not only are you running a high compression setup but these are not forged rods. They’re likely cast but the rods on these are weak… really really weak. ~14psi is max on the stock rods, since the rods warped, you most likely started experiencing knock and that’s what finished the pistons, rings and probably scratched the walls up bad. Especially since it’s a DE, these things were not designed to rev as high as the VR/VHR platforms so sending it to 7500rpm-8000rpm probably insured its death.
Not to mention, whoever did your tune… I’m sorry, didn’t do a good job. You shouldn’t have gone over 14psi and if you did your rev speed should have been lower because again, these rods are weak. You throw 15psi at these rods too quickly and you get this.
Thinking about it just for when I actually wanna run the car at a track, canyons or something like that, planning on getting some coilovers as well but will still stick to the stance set up for shows
