Hello and welcome to my channel! The Lone Adventurer channel is dedicated to tabletop solo gaming, especially games that provide a sense of adventure and exploration. If that sounds like your idea of a good time, then this may well be the channel for you!
Games I have played on the channel and enjoy include Miru, Barbarian Prince, Four Against Darkness, Pauper's Ladder and many, many more.
And another thing - I also love drawing and spend quite a bit of my time creating top-down and isometric maps that might be useful for those who enjoy rpgs. If that sounds like your sort of thing, search me out on Instagram - I'm ways.unseen.
If you want to get in contact, you can find me on Twitter (link below) or you can email me at loneadventurerplays at gmail dom com!
Thanks for popping by!

I do not have an awesome printer (though I recently treated myself and do have a decent one). This was printed with a printing company that I use a lot called Doxzoo (link in the description).
With how brutal this game appears it makes me wonder if the developer had enough playtesting done to balance it out more. Interesting game, regardless.
Seems pretty brutal, but I do think I was a little unlucky in this playthrough - the combat wasn't too scary though. But I agree it's not the most carefully balanced game.
Enters first room and falls in trap crawls out and sees a cabinet ooh look a cabinet. lets look for some treasure. 2 Goblins jump out and attack you. phew took them out, lets check them for treasures 4 Spiders crawl out of the corpses and attack. - UHG this place is insane I am outta here. Okay slightly exaggerated.
Great video. Game really needs the Into the Wild and Encounters. Had a chat with Gustavo on RPGGeek C&C Into the Wild forum regarding rules and ideas (ranged combat and defense, among others), really nice guy, took the time and answered all. :) You may like to check his replies, quite useful. I look forward to your next Caves and Catacombs videos. Cheers from Bucharest!
@@lone_adventurer Thank you. Apparently, the game also has the same page and forum on BGG as well, but I could not find it. I have sent you an e-mail with a few game suggestions for the channel, more obscure titles that you and your viewers may enjoy. It took me almost two years to find them. :) I hope some of them will bring joy to the Lone Adventurer. :)
No worries 🙂 honestly, Alex is probably the best place to start. If you bought the game and didn't get a pdf as part of that, give him a shout (email on blackoath website) and he'll sort you out.
The player character sheet is no longer available because the stats block and monster stats didn't entirely align with Cairn. The designer will add it back in when the second edition of Cairn is released. In the meantime, the overland sheet you have is exactly the same, except it doesn't have the character stats section (and you can use the sheet with any system, as a result)!
@@lone_adventurer Ah thank you for the heads up! I’ll be sure to look out for 2e cairn then and go from there or give the initial overworld sheet a go with 1st edition. Thanks for the help!
Excellent video, I love this system. Something to note, on page 13 of Cairn under Critical Damage, if HP is reduced to zero and damage is taken from strength, they have to do a strength save or basically become incapacitated. That keeps you from basically having a bunch of extra HP.
You can still get the one with the character sheet. Just takes a little searching. From the Perplexing Ruins solo gaming sheets itch page....Below download you'll see the development log, click on the "New files some fixes". On the right bar, under "more posts" you will see the link to "With Character Sheet"
Just printed the enemy pages of the book onto card and cut them out :) I used a corner-cutter (can get them on ebay or Amazon) to do the rounded corners, but nothing too complicated was involved in the process!
hey i just stumbled across this style of dungeon crawler rpg (as well as your channel) and i just wanted to say i am immensely grateful to you as well as fellow crawler channel Dungeon Dive for making this little scene way more accessible :) also I was surprised to find that yr channel is so new!! keep up the good work and I'm sure yr follower count will grow exponentially. good shit man :p
The zombies with morale 12 is a holdover from original D&D, where it was intended to indicate that they are mindless and never flee. That said, everybody should absolutely feel free to tweak things in whatever ways they like, and that goes double in solo play!
