This site is for those of you who are passionate and intrigued by electricity. If you read books, Google videos, read magazines, talk to engineers, join forums, and sit at home and tinker on your time off. This site is for you. If you want to know how this stuff works, why it acts the way it does, and how to experiment with it on your own time to learn a more profound understanding of it. This site is for you.
Doesn't the coiling add an effect that sways the measured value? Like wouldn't you get different results if the cable was straightened out ? Or is there not enough coiling effect there?
Hey a faster way is to look at the number on the wire. ... I didn't need a tester, and guide book , or the old guy at the company to tell me about it..
I built a new garage, I put a pad with a ground rod in one corner, wished I put it in the other corner, (installing a mini split a/c heat) is there a way to move the rod that's in concrete to the other side? Jumper or ground strap is that code? Thanks, love the channel keep the vid's coming! p.s. 200-amp panel from electric company junction box going in.
I remember I had about 30 offsets in a pile with doglegs(pipe going off to the side instead of straight) My boss came in right before I added another to the pile asked what I was doing and showed me how to fix a dog leg. He left and never saw my pile so after that he just thought I was getting really fast. I did however bend 2 1/4 inch offsets in 1” emt thinking that big pipe meant big voltage. (It was for Ethernet. I was green crackerjack tools no experience boss needed an electrician and tossed me in the deep end showed me how to bend a 90 and an offset and to read the prints. Expected me to quit I didn’t and learned my craft.
All these new breakers are overpriced and fail after a few trips, its pathetic price gouging, just another code that's unnecessary and costs homeowners a lot more
Thanks - lots of really great info. One suggestion - deliver the info in several passes, making the first pass really short with just the basic central ideas, and then proceed to a couple more levels of telling the story with increasing detail - increasing the amount of special cases and circumstances that could arise. I'm thinking of how newspaper stories are written in "pyramid style."
I can't say much about using it on single stand aluminum wiring since we never used that in our plant. We use multi starnd copper wire up to 750mcm and most of our lugs are aluminum. Anytime you mix to metals like aluminum and copper it will oxidize like crazy if you don't use something like Noalox. I have seen copper wires with huge balls of green oxidation on them when some of the hard headed ones here didn't add noalox. A lot of our conductors are handling 200 to 800 amps so a little different from residential wiring.
What happens when you get a short in one of those 14-gauge light circuits on the 20 Amp breaker? Possibility of 14-gauge wiring melting / fire before the breaker reacts?
Umm if one hand touches the live wire, on an open circuit, unless you are floating you don't need to have current jump out of your other hand. By standing, you are already grounded. So yes, touching the live wire on an open circuit will indeed shock, and.possibly kill you.
I stayed at a beach house in Florida that my dad's boss owned once, and it had a fuse panel. This was around 2005 or so. 2 of the fuses were blown and we had to search the whole house and about half of Panama City to find replacements. Glad these things are gone.
The theory of electrons flowing is false! Wires are actually micro tubes filled with smoke. The smoke flows and things work. This explains why things stop working when the smoke escapes 😂
people who get shocked and have tingle sensation from your nerves, by ALA ( Alpha LIpioc Acid) there two types of ALA make sure its the one i said and Its R-ALA. and buy Benfotiamine , take 600 mg of Benfotiamine and 1800 mg of R-ALA . these are antioxiandants especially for your nerves and nerve repair , depending on your case of severity will affect the amount of time to heal. take on empty stomachs. Soon as you take it you defiantly feel better and no side effects.
Very informative video! A question though: assuming you had all 3 types of lamps in the same wattage, what's the difference between the ballasts? You couldn't use a 250W mercury vapor lamp on a 250W metal halide ballast? Or is the voltage different?
You should make a video of how journeyman’s don’t like to teach. Those are the worst. Anything you do is bad. If your apprentice is bad then your journeyman is bad
