Hey y'all! We're Traveling Wives with a pup named Chansey!
We are working towards living life in the NOW! We bought our 2022 Winnebago Revel Van, that was our first step. Making videos for the vanlife/travel/gear community and showing you the process we are taking to be full time travelers! ☺️

Dispersed is great and better than a KOA, but hardly guaranteed especially on weekends. Glad you found a spot. KOA’s are good enroute places where you just don’t want to drive anymore. Can’t wait to see your upcoming trip.
We’ve had ok luck at that one but just not this time it was so bad LOL We were like nope can go it need to leave lol We are so excited about this trip it’s going to be pretty exciting and intense for us since we haven’t done something like this before! Thanks for watching! 😊
8:38 i’m hoping those mushrooms are good. I might have to try them. Have you ever tried lions? Maine mushrooms if you prepare them right, they will taste like steak, but they’re only good fresh for the day you cook them. You cannot put them up and try to eat them the next day.
4:36 I much rather disperse camp you have more privacy and if you’re gonna pay for something like the van you guys got you might as well. By the way did I tell you I love the van Winnebago?
We thought we were making a good choice at the time LOL At the KOA they have a trail that heads up with a popular hike we wanted to do and thought it be a good idea but once we got there and everything unfolded it was not going to happen lol We have done so much more dispersed camping this year. Awe thank you! We love it too with all the ups and downs we’ve had with it! Thanks for watching! 😊
The problem with that grill is it's really shallow and doesn't allow you to let the wood burn down enough to actually control the heat and it's too tight together so you can't really do indirect cooking. The flames shouldn't have been licking directly on the meat. Ribs are always best cooked Low & Slow, even Korean ribs. It allows the fat to render out and throughout the meat making them really tender. The Mushrooms were too "leathery" again for pretty much the same reason. Too high of heat directly on them. I know you gals were HUNGRY but hey! Now you know, right? Maybe you'll want to give them a 2nd go at some point.
That is definitely an issue with cooking on that grill we noticed, the charcoal would have been so much better! But we were so hungry after all the mess at being at that campground to start! We definitely will try them again and see how it goes! Thanks for watching 😊
You guys keep it real, which I appreciate, 'cuz there's always something unplanned happening when you go camping. A big YES for getting away from a full campground with neighbors right next to you. On a different note, I went and checked out a 2025 Revel last weekend, great price/great dealership, and loved the exterior, but me being very tall, traveling with (2) big dogs that like to sleep in bed, I just don't see the bed system working out. The Ekko was a better fit, but still not quite right...search continues, so for now it's "tenting" , which I also enjoy 🙂
We can tell how many times thing have not worked out and we had to change plans how many time but that how it is with anything a trip or camping or staycation. This trip was nice and worked out but sometimes it doesn’t and that’s ok lol we’re so happy we have a 22 the 25 is nice but we love all that garage space we have. The Ekko is def the second choice for us and now it’s on the sprinter chassis it’s another one we really like but we keeping this revel til the wheels fall off!! LOL Thanks for watching! 🙏🏻
We do love Bulgogi! This one had small bones so we think it was Korean short ribs called Kalbi we think it was Trader Joe’s version but we like the Trader Joe’s bulgogi better. Thanks for watching!! 😊
Oh man, I thought the Revel would be perfect and maintenance-free for at least 3 years.....actually the little things wouldn't bother me too much, but getting stranded due to a mechanical would be upsetting
From our research any RV for at least the first 2 years will need some love. It’s taught us so much since we fix it ourselves and we wouldn’t traded it for anything! Thanks for watching! 🙏🏻
I have the the Blackstone griddle + side burner, and I love it. But I am kinda wondering if condensing the setup down to something like these Jetboil Genesis would be better... The Blackstone is for sure a bit bulky. Curious which one you've been more into overall?
We would say the Jetboil Genesis is what we use the most now. It comes with the pot and pan, it’s compact and boils water so quick! If we had to pick just one it probably be the jetboil. Thanks for watching! 😊
1:34 I love the idea of tailgating in the woods unfortunately I’m not the biggest football fan or watch football and I don’t know why you would think I should but I love the van that might be the van. I choose when I get ready to retire.
We were big football fans until we met each other and now we do no rhyme or reason LOL but no reason you can’t make alot of good food and watch a movie or series in the woods! We love the van and look forward to keeping it till the wheels fall off! Thanks for watching 😊
16:03 those are definitely some nice steaks. I bought mine at Walmart and I bought the super heavy duty ones. I think they’re like three bucks apiece and I bought I think 18 for my hot tent and that’s been in winds exceeding 35 miles an hour and still stayed up with the wood-burning stove in it, which I would never try with the cheeps steaks that come with the tents
Walmart has a good line of camping gear that’s we’ve used before too. We think most of the time the stakes you get with the tents or gazebos you have to replace and glad we don’t have to with them! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
8:16 you generally don’t get really good steaks with any tent I ever bought so this is already impressing me. I wish more companies would do that especially on the bigger tents. You can’t use them cheap tent steaks if the wind strong enough, it’ll definitely take it away
6:29 I got a car camper so I really need the extra space. It looks pretty simple to set up and it stores away. It looks like pretty easily. I wouldn’t mind checking out. They’re probably pretty expensive.
With my tent, which was a hot tent TP I had the tent staked out plus all the guidelines cause I knew we had high wind coming in and I was kind of nervous about it staying up to my surprise it actually did
This is smaller in sized packed down then your actually gazelle tent that’s why we love it so much it can fit in our truck bed when we start traveling next year!
Once you stake down the side of the hub tents as we learned the hard way LOL it works great and won’t collapse in. We think we had wind gust of 20-30 the night we didn’t stake it down but then had to at 1am lol
I just bought the G6 with built in panels used. Got a great price from a guy who went to Burning Man who only used it once. Used it on my last trip to Bodega Bay CA. 35 MPH gusts with 15-20 sustained wind. We were able to get 5 adults and 3 dogs with two small tables in it. I can’t believe it held up! I’ve never seen the model you have. We have almost identical equipment 😂
That’s awesome! These tents when you stake them down right are such great shelters! They just came out with this one and we love it so far and look forward to using it more in the future. Definitely makes a small area in a van way better! Thanks for watching! 😊
We thought about that with the ladder since we’ve since others do it the problem is we keep so much firewood in the bag too the load of that ladder in that position isn’t meant to carry much at all. We push it with the firewood lol thanks for watching! 😊
Thank you! Will try looking here and see if we can find it at those 2 places since we have them! We’re so excited for football season! Thanks for watching! 🙏🏻
Really like your channel and adventures! We own a Revel too, so appreciate your sharing of tips, upgrades and advice (fyi, you persuaded us to buy a Blackstone and rear door cover). Keep having fun and hope your football teams have successful seasons. Thx!
Yay! We’re glad we can help out anyway we can with the Revel. We know we had a lot of questions and happy to share anything we learn about it! We love the blackstone and the rear door cover both haven’t left the van at all! Thanks for watching! 😊
Fun video! We are also a house divided when it comes to football. Chiefs vs Patriots! 😂. Nice to see you out in the woods and having fun! Love to see your doggie in the video. We have 3 small doggies and take them camping with us most of the time. We also love cooking on the blackstone!
We love having a divided house it makes it so much fun when we play against each other but then you get to watch more games too!! LOL She is the best little camping pup ever she loves being outside rather than in the house 😂We love that new blackstone makes for easy meals when it doesn’t rain! Thanks for watching! 😊
I went with the van made gear partition shade instead of the showtime curtain because if you want to stealth camp it just looks like a divider not a drawn curtain and just drops down and rolls up in seconds. I bought into the canyon adventure vans GLSS for the garage that comes in handy and is super easy to remove but also adds a lounge area and storage along with a nice place to eat or have a cocktail with the doors open and bug screen down when the vampire bugs are out.
We looked at the partition too and we don’t really do any stealth camping the further away from people the better LOL the GLSS is so nice! We liked the one they did that was similar to the storyteller but don’t think they do those anymore. Thanks for watching! 😊
That cupholder upgrade is such a great idea! And the foldable hooks are genius. You're going to love the folding counter extension, I can't even imagine Revel life without it now 😄
That’s has been the little best upgrade ever!! We love it! The counter extension has been very nice when it came to dishes and cleaning up so far! Thanks for watching 😊
We tired so hard but they are improving more of their products so will see how it goes. So far we’re happy with all of them just not the checking account lol thanks for watching! 🙏🏻
We don’t give up!!! 5th time was the charm LOL 😂 The one they recommend for the cabinet is the GE 0.7 cubic foot, 700 watt unit microwave. Thanks for watching! 🙏🏻
Finally someone has figured out how to use those Jackery panels. Thanks so very much. I can use mine. You two are fantastic. Thanks again. I will definitely follow each step you did and get those adapters order. Amazing 🎉
Good! Glad we could help! It wasn’t easy but it’s so nice to have the extra power when we need it for any reason! Let us know if you have any other questions on it! Thanks for watching!
Wow, every video that mentions the solar panel port makes it sound like it's just plug n' play and never mention how you can blow a fuse like that! This is extremely helpful and informative!
I know! They were like here’s a solar port and I was like ok how do we use it? Of course at the delivery they are like I don’t know 🙄 we did a lot of research and took some time but glad we figured it out and hope it can help anyone with that issue too. Thanks for watching! 😊
Wow, that's quite a big difference! This could be a great solution for us actually. Currently we just idle for a bit to charge from the alternator if we're about to run out of power, but that's not an ideal solution. And thanks for the reminder to wipe the solar panels 😂
It took us so long to figure this out! We hope it helps! Haha yeah we are bad about cleaning our solar panels for sure especially when it’s 120 outside 😂 thanks for watching!
If you run into the clamp loosing its tightness, the bracket that clamp attaches to , I welded mine on cause the threaded Allen bolts backed out and the clamp bracket fell off.. once you clamp it down the bracket that fell of with the 2 Allen bolts began to bend and fold in , so I welded a small sleeve in the middle of the small bracket .
Damn! You make me think twice about a Revel (just dreaming of one at the moment). Have you guys talked to other Revel owners? Are these like typical problems that happen?
They all have issues. Most of what has happened to us happens to others but we can all get them fixed. It’s pretty much a house on wheels. We still love it and wouldn’t trade it for anything else. Maybe an earthroamer LOL Thanks for watching! 😊
what a great video, had a bit of everything.those sparklers were huge, the ones here in scotland are about 8 inches long and you can only get them for about 2 weeks a year around bonfire night.
They were so big!!! When we were kids we don’t think they were ever that big! LOL We wish we could’ve had a good fire but wildfires are so bad out here right now. Thanks for watching! 😊
Hi Ladies! Just ran across your channel (yay algorithm!) because I watch a few Vanlife/Nomadic life channels. (all Full-timers) Love seeing our community represented! As a current Sticks&Bricks gal, I have been watching several YT channels as my next stage in life I plan on moving into a used but good condition, Class C. I work from home now, so I figured I can work from pretty much anywhere as long as I have a connection. I've chosen a Class C only because I do tech support and that requires me to have two monitors for all our systems, so space is the major concern. I'm not as concerned about finding a "forever home" simply as I've done a LOT of moving around in my lifetime, now its more "Me Time." I've seen a few others with similar vans and have noticed there tends to be a lot of quirks with Mercedes Sprinter vans. Depending on the model/year and any weird Collabs (yes, there's even a Mercedes/Dodge/Freightliner collab van out there - Don't ask). Another reason why I'm shying away from vans. Although I am a huge coffee addict, have been my entire life. French press is a finesse that takes practice, so don't go hard on yourself. Typical pre-ground coffees aren't ground for French Press. Just as someone else pointed out. Getting local/regional roasts from roasters along the way will also allow you to experience other great coffees out there! Totally subscribed, love your vibe! Looking forward to watching as you two explore!
Yay! Welcome to the channel! We’re getting ready for a transition like that at the start of the year so we’re trying everything out now and seeing what we may need to adjust, even though we know it’s going to break out there too! LOL It’s definitely exciting for a change like what you planning too! We didn’t know the French press was such a thing but we love it so far and we ordered more whole beans to grind ourselves too! Thanks for watching! 😊
Thanks for sharing your experience on battery management. For the coffee, one downside on doing something like the Maxwell House blue tubs is that they are ground for a standard automatic drip coffee maker. Picking up coffee from local roasters is great because you can get whole beans or ask them to grind it to the right coarseness specifically for a french press.
Sure thing! The batteries definitely can be a challenge we’re trying to figure out our best solution for what we’re going to need! That’s true we didn’t think of that! We did those grounds ourselves so they were coarser ground too. We’re excited to keep using it since it’s nice to try different coffee that’s not all these brand names! Thanks for watching 😊
