Out of the I think 8 FE games I have played so far, I have never seen a chapter with a whole ass boss fight your entire team has to work together against. This was done not once, but TWICE in a row (thrice if you count Dheginsea).
Few games have touched my heart the way this game did. Not even just video games honestly. My feelings toward this game transcend the media it was created for. Ike and Soren's last conversation before they fight the Goddess is such a tear jerker. One of my favorite games of all time, and I'll never forget my first time playing it... :)
I love Ike and Greil, but sympathetic to the Black Knight (Zelgius), because of what he went through. He is not your cliché sympathetic antagonist either. His theme used to be my ringtone and alarm, because my phone had no mercy on me. Fire Emblem 9 and 10 are my favorite games.
As I’m typing this I’m at the gym and was listening to god shattering star from 3 houses and thought “man I bet RD soundtrack would slap right now” boy was I right
Considering a big chunk of Elincia's army is made up of cavalry, it seems fitting that this theme is short, consistent yet intense from the start, since cavalry is always on the move. "Movement" is probably the best way I can describe this theme.
There is a certain tone of whimsy and energy to this theme, from the distinctive flute, then the uplifting strings. It really gives that vibe of fledgling heroes, or freedom fighers in this case.
It's been like a *decade* since I played RD. Came to listen to the OSt again out of nostalgia, and its just...hitting me, full force, how much I loved this game. The sheer majesty of this theme, as you face off against the Creator, between the grandiose opening, the dramatic strings, the quiet lyre, the explosive brass and *those drums.* Goddamn, I want to replay this really badly right now.
The name of this track made me realize that this song is pretty much a direct opposite to 'Beautiful Princess Elincia' in FE9. Considering how Micaiah and Pelleas's story is supposed to mirror Ike and Elinica's in FE9 I think that's pretty cool!!
