seriously wish they had continued this series. that would have been most epic. they even had a game of this :( monkey's ascent from his rock to power was actually quite satisfying (and kinda pissed me off). the monkeys were just minding their own business and prospering, then come the humans to muck things up because animals are animals.. monkey rebuilds, they try to defend themselves, humans make a mess of things again. the monkeys finally take action, and then the celestials come down and muck things up because, animals are animals.. monkey finally says screw this, clobbers the celestials and then gets busted by big bad buddha lol. yes, good show, but the premise just pissed me off.
This show should have continued beyond 13 episodes because too many holes and loose ends in the story. Still Kongo is more of a victim than people think.
I have always felt that the producers missed a great chance when that male jerkwad did not have blood on this slighty cut throat after beautiful Sam finally pulled her extremely sharp blade from his pathetic throat. Missed chances, sadly never come back.
i saw a video when its possible to increase goku's power level by using the "escape" card... but, i can't find it anymore... ( i tried to use the escape card but it says: " you can't use it here")
@@1acroyear1 according to the video , you can use kaioken and then, you can use a escape card... so, the BP from kaioken, becomes your normal BP... and you can use it, over and over again... ( i wonder how much you can do it... specially with a goku in namek)
Unfortunately, I'm not sure I even have this game anymore. In any event, as I recall the only body swap is with Ginyu. So you get Ginyu on your side and whenever he does the body swap you then change the order of your team lineup. After the battle you then have Ginyu for the rest of the game and can body swap with enemies after that. Also, if I recall, if you do it a lot I think all your team mates become Ginyu. Sorry I couldn't be of more help but I find the game again I'll try to post something just for you. Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate you.
I literally just now watched the 2023 movie and it had this scene. When i saw it i felt such a strong sense of deja vu. I saw this when i was just a little kid.
As a kid, this was my first exposure to Buddhism. I remember, though, recognizing the Buddha as a religious figure and thinking it was goofy that they insisted on sanitizing him as "the Guardian." When people go on their little rants about how "overly sensitive" people are "nowadays" (and they're usually no older than twenty, anyway), it makes me chuckle to think how many parents would flip their lids over anything that was explicitly non-Christian. (How Mr. Satan became "Hercule," and how gods always became "celestial beings," and demons would be made "monsters" or "mutants.")
Well, I do agree that them choosing "the guardian" as a title is goofy and they should have chosen a less generic one like "World Honored One" BUT in Buddhism Buddhahood is entirely different than Godhood for gods (or heavenly beings) are still trapped in the 6 paths while the buddha isn't. He wasn't an explanation for natural phenomeon and he didn't created the universe. So they wouldn't have to call him "god" in the first place.
@@noahtheoldman6152 Oh, I know. They wouldn't have called the Blessed One a god. But Buddha would've been immediately recognizable as a religious figure, which would've ruffled some feathers back in the day. I don't think the religious parents of the time would've been eager to have a conversation about the differences between Buddhas and bodhisattvas and devas.
Yeah, but remember how she was also written when she was first introduced, lest we forget that god-awful "Just because my genitals are on the inside..." line? But, yeah it didn't take them long to realize that (male) fans don't have any problems whatsoever with an *ACTUAL* strong female character who doesn't wear booty shorts and a tank top.
@@1acroyear1 If I remember correctly, it was actually Amanda Tapping herself who found the "Just because my genitals are on the inside..." stuff to be annoying and asked for it to be toned down because it made her character annoying.
@@govols1995 Precisely so. However an actress Who voiced such an opinion today would risk losing her career. Hell, not even a risk. It'd be a sure thing.
Buddha says his reach is infinite because it extends throughout the entire universe.... but in this story Congo went to the edge of the universe meaning it has an end and so while enormous its not infinite. If he had gone past the edge of the universe he would have gone out of his reach.
@@1acroyear1 The thing is, it doesn't matter whether he went past the pillars or not, because as Buddha himself mentioned, he is omnipresent, therefore even if Congo flew past the pillars, chances are he'll encounter yet another pillar of different pattern and this can go on infinitely, and eventually the monkey will have to concede and be convinced that he's reached "the edge" of the heavens because otherwise he'll just be going in an endless loop around the palm of Buddha. Think of the monkey trying to fly ceaselessly while the Buddha himself's created an invisible realm of the universe no bigger than his own palm as the monkey unsuspectingly flew on and on but never escaped him, and probably never could even if he tried. So yeah. the fact that Buddha is omnipresent means that the monkey king's already lost the bet before the race even started.
I’m sorry I’ve never seen this show in my life, only like the 1999 jttw cartoon in Chinese I laughed so hard not even a minute into this, there are TEARS MAN This english dub is killing me man the Buddha sounds like a really bad imitation of Optimus Prime or Batman, and they made Wukong talk like Sonic and sound like Eli Shane from Slugterra I’m Ty for this clip youtube algorithm
Hi, I found this video while looking for a tv show from 1979 called "Monkey" - where Monkey flew on his cloud and could not get further than Buddha's hand..... different show, same story?!!! Wow, I'm confused! When did this show air, and is it related to the 1979 show Monkey, if anyone knows. Thanks 😁👍
Yes, they're both adaptations of the chinese novel "Journey to the West", which is more or less the asian equivalent to the Iliad or The Odyssey. It's a literary classic about the monkey king and a buddhist monk traveling to India to retrieve a copy of the sutras and bring them back to china. It's based on an even older legend that dates to around the year 700 AD. Many animes are inspired by if not a straight up ripoff of Journey to the West.
@@1acroyear1 thanks for the information! I will read up about the Journey to the West! All these years I have loved the Monkey tv show and now I'm finally learning what it was based on! 🐒 Thanks ✌🙂
