Whitney had a beautiful strong voice but personally I liked most of mariah songs, respect both, and theirs a reason why were and are considered one of the greatest. Don't care what others gotta say
She’s I my favourite artist ever, so I’m biased , but she can sing better than most!!! And she is an adorable woman, I have met her several times and she is very humble!!!!

Demi has been through so much. I gotta say she's an impressive singer and that's never changed. She's kinda underrated. People need to stop making fun of her for her mental health and some stuff. She did in her past. I'm sure she'd love to move on. Great singer ❤❤❤ could listen all day
It is so interesting to see she used to sing "Aint no way" as a 15 and at 25. At 25 could go up to Bb5.. I think she is a Aretha fan(?) maybe just that one song. Also she BEEN doing vocals cracks since 12! Wow.
In music it is not about how many golden notes a singer has. It's about the truth of the tone behind the lyrics and the interpretation. In this area neither Morisette, nor Celine are golden, but Aretha, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Whitney Houston, Barbra Streisand, Judy Garland, Mariah Carey and Maria Callas are golden, Mariah, with her incredible vocal abilities is the ultimate singer, especially in her upper register, where her golden pipes turn to diamond. Her tone is pure perfection and her voice is studied at universities. Having said that, all of her vocal imperfections have indeed contributed to her perfect sound, as she is a true musician, who understands her instrument or shall I say her orchestra, as she is able to sing in so many different colours and display sound unknown to people before her and long after her. There are many wannabies, but there is only one Mariah Carey. Comparing her to anybody else is simply silly and disrespectful, especially in her case, where her voice struggling with nodules remains elusive and is subject to constant change.
The C6 of Beyonce was not the best of her, look in the performance of Destiny's Child ft Celine Dion, in this performance or including other singing emotion she has better C6. And please won't stop to make this videos, and upgrade the lyrics areas in opera by beyonce too.
There are so many vocal talents in the whole world, (some are famous globally, some are popular, and some that has not been exposed to much. In America she is definitely one of the best. Take note its very hard to select the best since people have their biases, preferences ,and favoritism, At the same time the singers do have their strengths and weaknesses also. So for me I narrowed it down to their other skills, talents and performance (Its like saying all of you are very good in singing, so what else do you have underneath?). When it comes to their having that total package 1) Lara Fabian 2 & 3) Mariah Carey and Monica Naranjo (I think Mariah writes better than Monica, but Monica sings and performs better than Mariah. they are interchangeable). Then among their generation (The singers of the 90s), In any order Celine Dion, Lara Fabian. and Monica Naranjo. The Criteria have two common names on their list, so the ones possessing the better total package is the choice for number 1 ..
If you were to make a list of real vocalists, the list is so long! Virtuosity is the word that separates a simple singer from a GREAT VOCALIST! Natalie and Vanessa, queens!!!
Well-chosen examples! Especially, the males. More often than not, I am irked and turned off by the male vocalists singing past D5 because it invariably requires mixing. And, while they may technically be hitting the notes, they often sound piercing, shrill and labored. But, I do give kudos to those men who make it work. Moreover, I actually appreciate and enjoy when males leap the scales by accessing and utilizing their whistle registers. It's something I wish more singers would work on and showcase in lieu of trying to sing like a soprano.
I remember when I was reading the comments saying Mariah is a better upper-belter than Whitney and cringing hard on each one of them. Now, after re-reading this comment section and watching this video one more time, I have to say that... yeah... it is ridiculously cringe lol
Somebody commented here that nobody comes close to Barbra Streisand. Nobody. I will add that Barbra is absolute, perfect, pure, outright, unmitigated, unquestionable, ultimate, etc., etc., etc.
