thank you. i also like some character with some lines and cracks but how do you deal with that in the kitchen near the sink or the bathroom? can we rely on the top coat?
? What would you do it that was in the straight part of the wall? I tried cutting at a 45 and the thinking about taking second piece and doing what you did here.
Excellent video thank you so much for breaking it down. Bought a house about seven months ago redoing a guestroom that is downstairs and also has VCT. I have actually done a good amount of VCT and the warning on the glue is funny to me. Even when you’re being survival somehow it gets in ya and then something else 😂
The cleats and staples I'm having trouble installing . They either bunch up or break the tongue. I've tried 80 psi to 120 psi and lower psi seems to work but almost every plank has one or Two fasteners that break or bunch up.
Ok i have a problem my floor is 2 different colors because they had a rug in the middle of the floor... the out side was stained but the inside was not... i sanded off the stain and its beautiful and light but the inside where the rugusedto be is darker and there is a spot or 2 where there is a pee stain... how do i match it up with outgoing dark.. i love the light color of the wood but im sad because its not all the same color... what can i do?
You really need to sand the entire floor and re stain everything at once. Otherwise it won't match. The dark spots are tough, not much you can do except stain it dark to cover it up or have someone cut out and replace the individual boards which is a tricky process
Took a few minutes and it lessened thr gap between the shoe and the wall, which decreases the amount of caulk needed and visible. This guy takes pride in his work.
Thanks for making this video! I just finished installing 90 sq ft of engineered hardwood in my master closet, and it looks amazing thanks to your guidance!
Maybe works with cheap t&g, but for thicker/tighter boards (or if floor a bit uneven) it takes a lot more tapping. The glue rows/width is way too wide to work on planks.
Very useful video. I pulled thousands out of my floor with needle nose pliers. The next few rooms will be a breeze now. The pliers leave a small indention too.
