Hello there! My name is Eric and I go by the call-sign N1JUR. Welcome to my channel! "I also host another channel/podcast called Live Free and Ham. It's a show where myself and four other enthusiasts of ham radio get together and discuss our experiences as well as some general shenanigans. If you're interested, you can visit our channel by clicking on livefreeandham.com."
Good review. I find that Netlogger does not identify all active nets. However, it may be that participation may be voluntary on the part of the net controller group. KE9ANL
FYI, PoLo is already available on the regular app stores for iOS and Android. I'll probably change the "beta" label to something else, because at this point is not so much about stability but about the fact that the app will be continuously evolving and always changing, and this won't be changing anytime soon.
Very nice. Some states, like Delaware, have a nice mapping system for their wildlife areas. Very detailed. I wish I could say the same about the DE state parks dept. Some states do have good state park maps too. 73!
I love HS hotline, but it is what you make it. HINT: if you need a state, country, county or Grid for an award? Go to the users phone book online and search users in that state, county, country etc. You then start calling those Hams. I just start at the top of the list and call extensions until someone answers. I introduce myself and explain I need there country etc. I ask if they have 15 minutes to help. If yes, I invite them to a band/frequency and I call them and get that QSO. Sometimes it may require skipping to another band, but it’s always ended with a great outcome. Not only do you get what you need, but you have a new contact. WIN/WIN. For this alone it’s worth it. PS: pay no attention to anyone suggesting you stay away over internal politics. That’s nothing to do with any of us end users. Our only job is to have fun. Let others fight. 😊
Ham Radio on an Iphone!?!?! LMAO!!! What a bunch of CRAP!! Iphone Ham is like sexual identifications. Even if you identify as a ham radio it doesn't mean you actually are one. Stupidest thing I’ve ever seen.
I’m using the 80 mad dog similar to you. MD coil, WR large tripod, and Faraday cloth. I just received the 160 m coil (still in the box) that I’m eager to try.
Your Welcome! I know a few hams that have their own 10 digit external number but I would suggest opening a ticket with the HH support team to get the real answer.
Glad you enjoyed the video! I'll make sure to add the app lineup in the description so you can download all the cool stuff I use to make my content. Check back in a bit for those links
7 months later, and this is still a great memory. I was having such a shitty day, and being out at the park turned it around. I need to get back out there and work towards that kilo.
QTH home gives you compas direction so you can aim your directional to get New Zealand or North Korea DX action. Have the beta of Polo. Have not activated so have not used.
Maybe it's time to activate that beta of Polo and see where it takes your logging journey. The world is your oyster, or in this case, your POTA Logger :)
This is what I was hoping would work. I received instructions from Hamshack hotline that mentioned reprovisioning the phone and that it would delete all my configurations.
I don’t have the exact port but yes I would say that if your node is behind a firewall your going to need to have those ports open to talk to other allstar nodes and the network as well
Took a couple minutes updating the info on my phones. I'm fighting with one phone. It lives at the in laws house, so I brought it home to update firmware and the number, but it won't connect to my home internet. Ugh. Sometimes, things are never as easy as they should be!
So, just a couple of suggestions: The "in law phone" is not assigned a static address, correct? Also, if you have a laptop, you can always update it from their location, and you're good to go!
@N1JUR Nope, lol. I've even factory reset a few times figuring I'll just reprovision the phone. Probably should have just brought the laptop there, but I didn't see why it would be an issue since the original provisioning was done at home and then brought there and hooked up. I'll get it figured out eventually
