The struggle was for the disciples..who were scrwed...while they lived a pumped up life of sickening luxury dressed as sannyasis. The one thing they did was massive offenses. I didn't move into the iskcon Berkeley temple until 1990. Hari vilasa was gbc and lived in the temple. Janakinatha dasa was tp and krishna kumara dasa was temple commander...typical iskcon temple hierarchy! Mother madanasini was one of the only prabhupada disciples still living in the temple. Many of the congregational devotees were hamsaduta disciples. Hamsaduta dasa was banned from attending the temple at the time. As far as sannyasis, hanumat prekasa swami was there as well as trivikrama swami. Many prabhupada disciples visited on Sunday and festivals. Krta karma dasa lived there in 1991 as well as Visala dasa. Jagannatha swami dasa was in charge of organizing the San francisco ratha yatra. My gurudeva hh bhaktiswarupa damodara swami was across the bay at the san francisco iskcon temple/Bhaktivedanta Institute. This is all around 1990 to 1994.

There was a rule book! The final instruction was rejected by massive egotistical unqualified disciples. This created horrific consequences for ISKCON. ISKCON was crippled by 11 men for an artificial position. Why not speak the truth HD Goswami? In 1980 there was an emergency Guru meeting in Miami Beach. The sole purpose of the meeting was to reinstate TKG as Guru. He dared to speak THE TRUTH & had to be checked. They could have come clean but they choose to continue the LIE. Prabhupada never choose any GURU's! Stop lying HDG. The planet needs Prabhupada! Not you!
There was a manual. HD Goswami is living a lie for over 45 years. The final instruction was CLEAR! Ritvik initiation was to continue. HD failed miserably as guru as did the other 10 imposters.
It all makes sense what Kalakantha Prabhu is saying. But at the same time it makes Srila Prabhupada look like he appointed the worst rascals as his successors - those who were not even kanistha. Why should Srila >Prabhupada have done such a thing? Only US gurus what is a massive provocation for India. If however, Srila Prabhupada did not appoint successor gurus then our attempt to have gurus anyway makes the parampara to be broken.

Hare Krishna! As always Kalakantha Dasa Prabhu is a voice of reason. He's steady in his support of increasing Krishna consciousness in the west by empowering all qualified devotees to serve as gurus regardless of their material bodies. True sama darshana and adhering to one of the first principles Srila Prabhupada reinforced-- We are not these bodies. Praying that we can move forward with this. I can confirm that preaching in the west is difficult when having to explain to newcomers, "We believe we are not these bodies. We are spirit souls. However you are limited in how you can serve if you are in a female body." 😅🙏

Authentic vaishnqva culture begins when we follow Srila Prabhupada exclusively. You are trying to Srimad Bhagavatamize your bad experiences in iskcon. But the fact is that pre Nov 1977 none of Prabhupada's disciples had to go thru what shit we had to go thru after we took initiation from these so called gurus.
Why can't we just see simple fact that if one followed exactly what Srila Prabhupada wanted, that no one was to be an Acharya/Diksha Guru after his physical disappearance and just continue to do what Srila Prabhupada did during his physical presence, we will not be having all these discussions! There can be no authenticity of any Vaishnava culture without making efforts on running ISKCON the way the Founder Acharya wants it to be run! You cannot remove Prabhupada and want to have the organization of Prabhupada, like Rama Rajya without Rama!
Sounds like a Mormon or jehovah witness.or Muslim, Hindu style. A desire to convert others to their religion to save them . Then if they are saved when they die they go to an eternal heaven with their idea of God.
Authenticity is really important. That's the main energy which will lead us to pure love of God. Enjoyed that interview. Had the privileged to see Navina Nirada in real life distributing books in my country without knowing the language. And he did a lot more books then myself.
Too many devotees used to think ISKCON is the only Gaudiya organization, and that it’s philosophy belonged to Prabhupada. Luckily now it has changed; new devotees are realizing there are several bonafide lineages of Gaudiya Parampara, and they don’t have to worry about ISKCON if they don’t want to. All glories to Srila Prabhupada, absolutely, but Hare Krishna does not only belong to ISKCON, despite what some of its gurus in the GBC want to claim. They even badmouth babajis outside of Prabhupada’s lineage!
Yes sadly there is lots of unnecessary criticism on both sides, though sometimes it is necessary to criticise in order to teach one’s students the proper way to practice bhakti. Any genuine follower of Mahaprabhu is glorious. Srila Prabhupada did not consider ISKCON to be the only branch of the Chaitanya tree.
We in iskcon just criticize the sahajiaya "babajis." And your patronizing "all glories to srila prabhupada, absolutely" comment shows your lack of proper understanding of srila prabhupada's position as founder acarya of iskcon. ALL of us, even those puffed up ones, would be suffering in infinite ignorance birth after miserable birth, without the efforts of one single mahabhagavata, srila prabhupada. Even srila prabhupadas gurudeva, the lion guru, srila bhaktisiddhanta, was unable to accomplish in a lifetime what srila prabhupada did in 12 short years. But it was a lifetime in preparation for srila prabhupada as well.
