I help drummers learn jazz with a clear step by step curriculum so they can play with other musicians at a higher level than they ever thought possible making the musical community stronger and bringing more music to the world.
Tim this was SMOKIN’ 😮💨. The overall video and recording quality in these new videos have been *chef’s kiss* Miss playing with you and learning drums together!!! KEEP KILLING IT WITH THESE VIDEOS! 🙏
Hi Tim - thanks for the upload , good stuff! When you finish and come back on the ‘1’ , do you do a fast double bass hit to crash in on the ‘1’ ? Cheers

Very nice playing, very helpful teaching, and a beaaauuutiful cymbal! I’d rather spend a few hundred dollars for one of those great cymbalmaker’s new cymbal than searching years and spending triple the money for some old K. May I ask what cymbal it is from the list of instruments they’re offering? Or was it a custom order?
4:05. Why start the fill with the right hand and not the left, or, when you start with the right hand, play the crash at the end of the fill with the left hand? I don’t want to come across as some wise ass. I’m sorry, just a question.
I saw his vid already, he knows what you like! And he knows what he’s doing, an incredibly gifted man at his trade! And you at yours! You’re obviously having a blast playing that thing, it’s plainly apparent! 😁
I have been playing 34 years Vater makes the best sticks. I have used both nylon and wood, I prefer wood. What's with the jazz sticks and playing? Get some real big drum sticks and beat the crap out of your kit like the rest of us. I still have my old nylon Tama Power Tools sticks. They feel like playing a pair of tree trunks.
I agree! I switched about 6 years ago. First thing I noticed was how much better my vintage Rogers sounded. I use the response 2 , two ply heads for tom batters and Force 1/Regulator combo for the bass drum. My red kit has had the same heads for five years and going strong! And I get many compliments on the sound.
I’m 2 minutes into this video and it’s the most refreshing thing I’ve seen on RU-vid in years. You have such a good vibe man. Thanks for just being you. Great content
I would’ve though a drum head endorser would replace their heads a bit more often than every couple years😅. Might as well make it worth your while. But maybe the slightly dead sound works better for you than that of a sparkling new head.
i remember a video of your channel, and it was comparing claf heads with Calf heads, Aquarian teture coated, Aquarian modern vintage and Remo fiberskyn, what do you think about Evans Claftone '56?
I'm having a bit of a shell shock today because I've played jazz drums for 13 years, and it goes without saying how much I love great cymbals. Until today, when discovered funch cymabls, I did not know it was even possible to make something better than a vintage K. yet somehow he has done the impossible. I am speechless!
Do you use plain a plain aquarian on the snare, or is it a batter head? And also what snare side and bottom heads do you use? I’m trying to buy supplies for my fist jazz kit and would like this sound on my drums.
I use an Aquarian Texture coated for the top and Classic Clear Snare Side for the bottom. Batter just refers to the head that you hit. Reso is the bottom. Hope this helps!
