About three years ago my son Jack and I started building an electric airboat for our own needs. We uploaded a video surrounding the topic, and things escalated rather quickly from there! We now build and sell said electric airboat (and more) through Marsons.se!
The support for the airboat has also inspired us to continue doing crazy electric builds! So have a look around, and if you like what you see, please consider subscribing!
I just so happen to have an old outboard lower unit and a spare electric motor from a band saw. Figure a different mount and a variable speed controller/switch and I could probably fab something like this up!
7:22 Gardening on a slope, I did this the other day with 13 butternut squashes. The language had to be bleeped as well 😂 Hope you didn't hurt anything!
So ,no motor info regarding power ,torque, rpm ,make ,model ? No info on esc ,amps make or any specs.? No battery info regarding volts , amp hr, chemistry? WTAF!
First time seeing the channel. Great concept. Now don't get me wrong- I'm not here to fuck spiders, either. But the bloke behind the camera cuts the other guy off when he's talking nearly every single sentence. 10 minutes in and I'm spent, I can't keep listening to him do it. Nice idea, but what a rude cunt behind the lens. FFS 🤦
I've been following a fella named Kris Harbor & he did a video on fact checking the motor ratings. Just because the online retailer listing says it doesn't mean the motor can actually put out the power, rpm or torque listed. The wire thickness & winding count are major parts for example of what a motor/generator can do. If the wire can only handle a few amps then there is no way it will reach the output needed by beefier materials. I refer here to some Chinese distributors via Amazon in this example.
Enjoying the videos! Curious how much the system you’ve made weighs, and cost? I have a pedal\padle boat and have thought of putting a trolling motor on it, but would love to make it much faster. I’m an old racer, so I need a fast pedal boat! Lol
Hi @KingShinobi82! It is some mucking around! If you don't quite have the knowledge it can go a little wrong...... We have them pressed in the factory nowadays, so we don't do it ourselves now that we've developed them as such. Not sure what motor you are using, but try undoing every single nut/bolt/shaft/wire/sensors, and then giving it a "bashing" as violently and carefully as possible.......😅 Hope this helps, have a great day, and thanks for sub:ing/following if u can and want to! /John
Electric motors can generate a lot of heat when under heavy load. Heat decreases efficiency dramatically, and can also lead to burning the motor out. This system requires water cooling for both reasons👍 Have a great day!👍
There are alot of choices for bldc motors , the one you have kinda looks like a high rpm motor I wonder if a slower rpm motor like for a emotorcycle would run with less heat ?
@jacobclark89 Great thoughts! The rpms don't have too much to do with the heat generated in this case. It is more to do with the small size of the motor and the amount of work it needs to do with it's accumulated inefficiencies, that produce heat. Higher voltage could be more helpful in some systems, which lowers amperage, and heat build up. But in this case, a larger motor, higher voltage, and less amperage would be the fastest way to a more desirable outcome. Thanks for hanging abnout! /John
@luisalbertomarrugorocha5884 Thanks for your question! Check out our videos for the battery specs, and the motor can be found on www.marsons.se ! Have a great day! /John
Enjoyed the video John keep doing them as I am very interested in the outcome. As an aside , when I had bees any smell of petrol on a limb would start an attack. As for covering up, apart from a face net I used nothing else. Hope all goes well for you regards MS. Cheers Roger.
G'day John curious why the large style windows was the room going the art studio? i guess natural light is a good thing in the summer but arent you going freeze in winter do you have planes to install a revese cycle aircon or simular
@SuperLava55 Not like Aussie windows, these windows are triple glazed. Every winter gets down to -20 °C, so the windows are made for that 😀 Up in these two rooms, we'll only have electrical heating for the start, but with time, we'll connect it to our central heating which will be installed next year, and this is heat pump driven. BTW do you remember wood working classes at St. Joeys, that was epic fun😀
@earnestbass4043 THanks fro the comment! The motor can be purchased on our website: www.marsons.se, and modulateing the speed is with a remote control. Have a great day! /John
@luisalbertomarrugorocha5884 Sorry! If I could speak Spanish I would! But I only know Swedish and English! Thanks for dropping by, have a great day!/John
⚠️ CAUTION ⚠️ Purchased new LUBA 2 AWD 10000 for $4178 Worked for 6 weeks, then stopped Support ticket created on May 20th Issues remain unresolved by Mammotion (44 days so far) Mower not able to complete a task properly in that time. Mammotion not responded to warranty request for replacement Buyers beware, I’m certainly not the only one with this experience
@joshoelze 😔That's super disappointing! Mammotion really need to sort customer service put, this kind of treatment is super unfair to customers. I have a couple of contacts at the company, so I'll see who I can contact there and get them to assist. Contact me privately with your support ticket and I'll see what I can do👍👍 /John
@@johndehosson Thanks John, sorry to dump in your video comments (cool video!). I really want the LUBA to work, but I (and many others) feel robbed by Mammotion, and I am not sure what else to do other than warn others and make commotion about it.
@@joshoelze No dramas! Mammotion need to hear this, and of course it wasn't taken as anything but purely ur message about their customer service. 👍 Happy to help, thanks for the DM, have answered U there 👍/j
Nice ! I very good and interesting channel ! I just put up a RTK base station on my swedish offgrid cabin, but a home build one. (i use waveshare LC29H BS and DA modules, and now better antennas). So now i can have all kind of robots driving around. I am now putting new electronics in an old huskvarna solar mover. And then i have another regular robotic mover that will get new electronics.. It is easy to get hold of broken robotic mowers (especially after large thunderstorms), that the motors, encoders and all essential stuff works, but just needs a new brain.. :-)
Cheers @petleh82 ! THanks for dropping by! /John
Once you've driven your perimeter to create a map can you manually tweak the nodes if you need to make slight adjustments or do you always have to redraw the entire boundary? Do they sell spare parts yet? There's no repair parts visible on their online shop.
Hi @DEAFB33F👍Very easy to adjust small parts of the perimeter and no-go zones afterwards. Not sure about spares, but cannot see how they could be marching forward without this👍Haven't needed anything ourselves yet, thus the incomplete answer, sorry! But hope this helps, have an epic day 🍻 /John
Okay... Here we go - Make something foiling (like a foiling boat) - Use it for a small hovercraft (might need 2 motors) - Make a Wind turbine with it. - Give one motor away to a subscriber (like me), and see what they can make with it. - Use it as a speaker (yes it can be done!) ... More ideas will come later .. ~Kian
1) have thought of this for the future! 2) hmmm...... 3) That's be super useful 4) I have been pondering that 5) Amplifying to those magnets will need some power!
@chuckconrad8736 Don't have a catamaran unforuntately, so that one will need to be put on the back burner. But the long tail sounds super fun, and we have the means!😀
