Out of curiosity, what size electric motor would you recommend for a 16ft (4.9m) aluminum V-hull boat that would weigh about 1000lbs (450kg) in total ? I have a 16ft fiberglass V-hull boat right now with a 15hp 4stroke Suzuki on it, and it is barely enough when it is windy... but I know they aren't as torque efficient as electric motors so... What do you recommend? 12kW? 18kW?

Sorry about the late reply @PunkR0ckz09 !!! Head for geting to know how many HP will move what you want as quickly as you want. Transpose that to kW, and then find a system/motor that can do that continuously. Hope this helps, have a great weekend! /John
